In Quiet Insurrections, Daniel Klawitter’s work displays careful, studied attention to the sounds of words, which in large part manifests as a high density of rhymes: internal rhymes, end-rhymes, slant rhymes, full rhymes. Some are refreshingly novel: marijuana and drama, tourists and insurance. Friends, Let me just say it: Klawitter is good. I mean- he's really good. I read a lot of poetry. I love poetry in all of it's forms; however, I'll confess it that at heart, I'm a classicist.

It is clear from Klawitter's writing that he knows the rules poetry and that he is an experienced poet. The judges of the 2018 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards contest, which recognizes excellence in all genres of literature, named Quiet Insurrections an Honorable Mention winner in the poetry category.
