This book broke me in the best possible way. Be warned, it does talk about some really triggering stuff, but I thought it was written very tastefully. This author is so talented! She somehow made this heartbreaking book lighthearted and humerus as well as interesting. I stayed up late every night because I didn’t want to stop reading. One of my all time favorite things in any genre of book is banter. Whether it’s with a love interest, friend, sibling, parent, etc. and Heath

This was a painfully beautiful book. It was heartbreaking learning of Quinn’s past and all of the things he had been through. It was beautiful to watch their relationship grow and see her help him. They were exactly what the other one needed

Alison Waverly knows what she wants in life. After leaving high school and the hopes that she and her sweetheart, Logan, will get back together, she attends college at Grayson University where her father, Charles, is the chair of the Psychology Department. It is here that she meets her dad's new colleague, Quinn Kaneko. Quinn is different from anyone that Alison has ever met. He is a prodigy, able to master anything he puts his mind to. However, because of his odd habits and appearance, he isn't ...more

This book brought me to Quinn Kaneko levels of obsession. I rarely read anything this fast, but holy heck I devoured this book.

I don't think the word "enrapture" is too strong a word for what this book dud to me. Every single word on the page screamed to be read. There was not even a single letter out of place and very few passages that gave me pause.

Every second I spent reading this book was rapturous. Heather Blair's prose is delectable!

I absolutely adore Alison and her family (with one obvi

I won this in a giveaway from the author.

And oh my actual hell I am so glad I did.

Okay… so a few thoughts I had while reading this book:

Quinn reminds me of Spencer Reid from Criminal minds. Which is amazing.
I did not expect that twist that essentially turned it into a Criminal Minds/Law and Order SVU episode, which was also amazing.
The book was so amazingly written. And that bet. That bet was amazing.
So to summarize… this book is amazing.

I don’t normally enjoy books that follow years and years o

I have spent an inordinate amount of time lately delving into the romance genre and finding things I liked and didn’t like within all of it. Through this interesting adventure, I managed to come across this book, “Lucid Dreaming” and this is one of those books that completely changes how you view an entire genre.

Blair writes this story as more than just a romance. It is raw. It is real. It’s painful to read but also completely satisfying at the same time. Her mature style of writing captivates y

I thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of this book. I'm not really one to read romance/erotica, but this was a rare exception and it was delightful. The relationship between Alison and Quinn was truly adorable yet complex. They had great chemistry and really cared for one another. This book has equal parts humor, excitement and intrigue. The writing style was also very nice and not at all lackluster. Great debut novel from a potential best selling romance author that could really go places. ...more

Shelves: finished
The book started good with descriptive enough, in detail, way of presenting the main characters Alison and Quinn and introduction into the story, as well good describing of situations so you could really see what was going on. Descriptions are maybe the high point of this book and it's author on the contrary to some other newer books which have badder descriptions. The plot is revolving around one girl which is the least smart in the family of more intelligent members and that bugs her, but she ...more

Sooooo this is erotica. I had no idea, but that's on me. I could've done a little more research.

But there's some good bits of dialouge in this book. I was also surprised by how dark it got and the disparity between the romance and the super dark bits wasn't really my cup of tea. But, overall, it's a decent read. The characters are vibrant and, again, the dialouge is a highlight. I especially found the title drop was a beautiful moment.

Overall, it's a good erotica if you're looking for a more s

This book was absolutely amazing! The story of Quinn and Alison was so beautiful. Alison was finding her way through college and the after years finding a strange relationship with Quinn, a very strange man with a sordid last that he did not like to discuss. Their relationship was so particular on the way that normal meets quirky. Heather Blair did an exceptional job of portraying each character in this story that you could picture each personality and mannerism of each person. The scenes were s ...more

I really enjoyed this story. Heather Blair is a new author for me, but she definitely captivated me with her writing style. The book is easy to read, the words just flow from the page. All the characters are well developed and likable. I absolutely love Alison, she is such a kind, emphatic and vibrant woman. Quinn is a genius with a troubled past and a tormented soul. He has a lot of quirks and while everybody else considers him odd, Alison sees him as fascinating. They make such a great couple. ...more

Lucid Dreaming is an adult romance following a college graduate and her oddball lover. The central relationship is well written and poignant, involving a difficult and sensitive issue that is well handled. The narrative is sexually explicit on multiple occasions leading to the sense that I was reading an unfolding  relationship study perhaps more than a story. Personally, I would have liked a little more plot, though If you love adult romance you'll enjoy this due to the wonderful character of Q ...more

Unusual but good

If asked specifically I don’t know what reason I would give for really liking this book. It’s a combination of such a normal female lead which is unlike most romances, and the man himself. He makes the different seem plausible and her attraction understandable. There are unpleasant topics in this but they are dealt with carefully, and with basic details only because it is the relationship that takes centre stage, not sensationalising a painful subject. It’s not hard to guess the

I dived right into these books without really knowing what they were about. Let me tell you....there are some STEAMY pages in these books🙈 The love story of Alison and Quinn is so sweet and endearing that I was instantly caught up in their story. I absolutely loved that they became friends before they became a couple. Throughout the story, I really appreciate that Alison keeps her own life and friends rather than abandoning them for Quinn. He is a very complicated character and I could easily s ...more

Lucid Dreaming, by Heather Blair, captured my interest from the first sentence and kept it all the way to a satisfying end. The characters were so real, it was as if I was living their story alongside them. A complex, sensual plot, a relatable main character, a loyal best friend, a close father-daughter relationship, and a lover with dark secrets, all make this an excellent, engaging novel. I’m looking forward to the sequel and to more from this author.

This was off the beaten path for me, but I found myself completely engaged in the story. Although the subject matter was tough. There was so much odd, quirkiness to the characters that I couldn't help but root for Quinn.
Don't ever assume you know or have a book figured out by its genre. You will miss out on a pleasant surprise, and incredible writing.
I will be there for book two.

This book was fantastic! The only reason why I read it in 2 sittings was because I ran out of time. The author pulls you in with great characters, excellent changes of perspective between those characters and unique shifts from 3rd to 1st person point of views.
