Another jewel from Lucy Tempest! In this book we find out more about Ada, as she finds out herself. She makes some good decisions and some bad ones, but she really grows as a person in this novel. My heart was breaking for her at the end, and it was one of those cliff hangers you know is coming but somehow are still unprepared for. I can't wait until the next one,
Queen of Cahraman (Fairytales of Folkshore Book 3), comes out on February 2, 2019.

This series is proving to be just fantastic! I feel like the pacing and plot layering are all really nicely done and that nothing is overly dragged out or unrealistically achieved. There's character growth, sweet moments, obstacles, details building and building... great installment! A very good read that I'm enjoying a lot. I don't even mind the bits and pieces worked in about the next installment, a duology focusing on Bonnie, because they're worked into the story in a way that doesn't veer of ...more

Most of the time when you are reading a good book, you cant put it down even for a second. But then there are some book that gets you so excited that you find yourself unable to just sit down still. If you are wondering what category this book falls, its the second. It was so good that I had to put it down a couple of times and walk around my room a while trying absorb all the things that were happening. Yes, the plot of this book was predictable. But then again its based on Aladin and Selection ...more

A great continuation of the first book that picks up right where that one left off. Relationships deepen and the plot thickens. I was tearing my hair out with worry over Ada over the decisions she was making.

I especially loved how this book made people that we thought were straight-forward, annoying people into deep characters, especially Fairuza. In the first book, she is almost the stereotypical mean girl. But in this book, circumstances show Ada what makes Fairuza tick, and it made me as the
I received a gift card to purchase this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, how I waited for this book with bated breath and high hopes. I was not disappointed. Lucy Tempest once again brought me into a world filled with love, friendship, rivals, and magic.
Ada’s story is one that I was drawn into and haven’t stopped thinking about since I was able to read the first novel. I didn’t expect that I would fall in love with each of the characters time and time again. I found myself relating to

“You came into my life like a summer storm, upended my expectations and scattered them to the four winds. But by the gods, you’ll stay through the winds of all the seasons of my life.”

My god. Know what this book didn't suffer from? SECOND BOOK SYNDROME. You heard it right folks. This book was just as amazing, if not better than, the first in the series and I am absolutely all here for my bbys Cyrus and Ada. And Ayman. And Cora. And maybe Cherine if she stops being Cherine.

Favourite Quote: ‘This was something I would never get over. That he could be two people on opposite ends of the spectrum so convincingly. It left me to wonder which was the version he would normally be on an everyday basis, Cyrus or Cyaxares. And which I wanted more.’

Discovering who her Cyrus really is, the Prince of Cahraman himself, Ada can’t help but feel devastated. Her plans for them running away together were thrown out the window, there was no way he would leave his kingdom for h

Another amazing book from Lucy Tempest!

There's character growth, sweet moments, obstacles, details building and building... great installment! In this book we find out more about Ada, as she finds out herself. She has to make some big decisions in this book that will effect her, friends and loved ones. I look forward to reading the next book in this trilogy.

I will certainly read anything Lucy Tempest writes from now on!
I highly recommend you read one of her books.

I re-read Thief of Cahraman (for the third time) to segue into this book, and it multiplied my enjoyment of both no end. I plan to do the same when the third book comes out!

This book, unlike so many second installments after a stellar first entry, is even better than the first, which was almost perfect. But can you imporve on perfection? Seems so, since in this book all the wonderful world-building, character development and romance was amped to the nth degree. I LOVE Ada and the girls, I love

AMAZING sequel. I really wasn't expecting any of the awesomeness that happened in this book. Though the story follows the three-act pattern of The Selection and Aladdin, so I know where it's going, I still had no idea just 'how' it will play out and Ms. Tempest certainly surprised me with her execution at every turn. In this book, the world darkens, and the adventure turns deadly and the friendships forged in the palace become tempered in life and death situations.

Ada draws on all the skills he

After receiving, reading and reviewing an ARC for Thief of Cahraman, the first book in the series, I immediately went and preordered Prince of Cahraman as I was drawn in so much by the story-line, I wanted to know what happened next!

How do you rebuild after everything was built on a lie? Do you choose to rebuild or do you rip out the roots?

We now join Ada on what happens after discovering the truth about Cyrus and what this means for her position in the Bride Search. Ada is tasked with more seri

Fantastic follow up to a powerful first book!

This actually takes the story a few steps higher and the cliffhanger at the end of the second act of the trilogy was both heartbreaking and breathtaking. The character development is some of the best I've EVER read, the world building is meticulous and the writing is superb. And then there are the twists and the way everything interconnects seamlessly.

This series deserves to be a MEGA bestseller. It's far, far better than The Selection and I actuall

This far more than fulfilled my very high expectations after the first superb book in this trilogy! I didn't think it possible Prince can top Thief but for the first time in a very long time, a second book surpasses the first, when usually second books are a not so exciting sequel after the author sort of expends her creativity in the first installment to hook readers then everything sort of fizzles out the longer the series goes, but then fans just cling to their characters they came to love in ...more

Can't wait for the next book!

I sooo recommend this book! Great, clean romance full of adventure! There's magic, fun, near death scenes, fights, and so much more! Ada is an emotionally scarred lead lady trying to recover the only family she knows but she gets used and has to sacrifice much for them, but stays strong and not jaded. I love how she unexpectedly develops friendships, tries to help others, is loyal and is willing to even help those that are mean to her-not in a weak willed way but bec

A truly fantastic followup to the enchanting first installment, Thief of Cahraman.

In this book, the adventure ratchets up to literally breathless heights with close brushes with death and we are treated to a delightful series of unexpected twists and characters developments where everything deepens, becomes more emotional and intriguing.

I now feel I know Ada, Cyrus, Ayman, Cora, Cherine and even Fairuza personally and love them all and am rooting for each and every one of them. I can't wait fo

I seriously can't get enough of this new fantastic fantasy fairytale-retelling-based series. Lucy Tempest's writing is addictive and her characters come to life in a way I hadn't read in a long while and her world is layered and alive and unique. This is also the first time I've read a girl Aladdin and it is crossed with The Selection, but the result is nothing like either and in my opinion far superior to both. In this second book, Ms. Tempest takes everything up a few notches and with every pa ...more

I’m honestly so excited for her continuing this series. Lucy is a consistent writer that is mature and completely enthralls you. Once you read her books it feels like you’re in that universe completely, you’re internally telling characters what to do and feeling everything they do. I’m always shocked when something gets me out of the trance her writing puts me in. Her books make my 30 minute break at work feel too short! I can’t wait to get paid again so I can get the physical copy of her book i ...more

I didn't think it possible to love the second book as much as I loved the first one, which I adored absolutely. Or so I thought till I read the second one. It almost pains me to say I loved it even more!

The plot deepens in ways that were totally unexpected and it makes Ada, Cyrus and every one of the girls and all friends and foes become even more real than before, complex characters you can't possibly categorize. Every single scene was breathtaking, and with the dialogue and Lucy Tempest's mast

Enjoyable Plot, could care less about the prince

The world building and continued twists and turns of this story really kept me reading. Tempest continues to feed us clues, one at a time, leaving us to speculate about who the real villain is, what happened in the past, and will Ada succeed. I almost felt that Cyrus was more of just a plot device to keep the rest of the story going. He is too perfect and nice, except for the few times he gets frustrated, that I really just didn't care too much for

An incredible sequel to the fantastic first book. Reading them back to back made me appreciate each even more. In this book the adventure ratchets up in excitement—and danger, and all the characters and relationships deepen. My heart almost broke for Ada and Cyrus at the end, and then there was the best cliffhanger I've read in ages (yes, I know it was expected as this is an Aladdin retelling so we all know where it's heading...but how it happened was what mattered and it was incredible!)

Really excellent bridging story of trilogy

I thought this second installment to the trilogy was truly excellent - and just improved on the compelling first story. I had a few issues with sections of the first and third book being a bit out of place and chaotic, but there was none of that here. The final stage of the bride test is the focus of this story and the author provides a satisfying development of the central love story along with close friendships, and both types of relationships feel rea

An incredible follow-up to the enchanting first book, Thief of Cahraman. I couldn't put it down, even though it's over 350 pages long, but I read it everywhere I went until I finished it. And what a ride. This is the absolute best fairytale retelling I've ever read. So original, such twists, such rich characters, relationships and world building. And SO well-written. Amazing really! I don't know how I'll be able to wait two more months for the conclusion of Ada's trilogy, but I've got my copy on ...more

I absolutely love this series!

The stakes in this second instalment of the trilogy were so heightened that I spent much of the time reading this in a state of panic; I cannot wait to see where the final book is going to take us!

I especially loved Fairuza’s development in this book and I am hoping that we will get an entire series about her and her story! She has definitely gone from my most hated character to one of my most loved.

I am so excited for Queen of Cahraman, which I only have to wait 3

This book was SO GOOD!! I loved the first one, and was afraid that the second couldn’t possibly be as good as it. But it was just as good, if not better! I can’t wait to read the next book, as well as any future book written by Lucy Tempest.

I love the friendships between Ada, Cora, and Cherine, and the romance is sweet and beautiful. The plot twists are fascinating, and the adventure is thrilling. I appreciate that this book was clean (no swearing or sexual intimacy).

Truly fantastic. Ada and the girls develop so much in this book, and Cyrus is to die for. I haven't read such a wonderful hero for a very long time. The twists and turns this book takes us elevates FAR beyond The Selection and Aladdin which the series likens itself to. It's MUCH better than both put together, and the Folkshore world is an original new fantasy world I can't wait to explore more.
Bring on Queen of Cahraman!!!

Again I feel compelled to write a review, when I usually only rate the books I read. But Lucy Tempest has made me unable to not make a comment. She's taken two age-old storylines, meshed them together and came up with something totally fresh and enchanting. The book is full of complexities, development, heartache, adventure and romance. And it's so intelligently written, and so witty!

I can't wait for the third and final book in the trilogy and for every other book she writes.

Even more amazing than the first incredible book. The build up to the explosive ending was a thrilling, breathtaking ride that was intensely romantic, intriguing and emotional. I can't wait for the finale of this trilogy which I'm certain will be climactic! I hope Ms. Tempest writes faster this time, since I don't know if it's possible to wait three more months to find out how everything will play out after the massive developments in book 2!
I mean it...I really CAN'T WAIT for book 3!

Oh Lucy! You did it to me again. You had me reading into the night, hoping for a happy ending, you opened my heart to joy, and snatched it from me with another cliffhanger. As Ada continues the competition to be named Cyrus’s bride, many of the tests she endures nearly take her life. As enemies become allies, the girls work together to help each other for the best possible outcome. I have no idea how I will ever be patient enough to wait for book 3, but somehow I’ll survive.

A sequel as it should be done, with world building, character and relationship development becoming progressively more complex and interesting. Top notch writing with fantastic surprises along the way. Even if we all know where it's heading since it's an Aladdin retelling, the execution is full of original twists, exciting, entertaining scenes and priceless dialogue. The cliffhanger ending leaves me craving the final book in the trilogy!

Ahhhh! I need the third book now!
Great continuation of the first book Thief of Cahraman. I wasn't sure how the author could stretch the narrative out for three books. Now I know there is too much story and too many plot twists to adequately fit in one, or even two, books. So with that, I'm off to the third!
