Every once in a while my habit of not reading blurbs leads me to something wholly unexpected, and Andrew J. Peters' novel Irresistible is definitely one of those times.

What starts out as a lovely little summer romance quickly turns into a what-the-heck is going on here situation. It's silly and campy and corny and wonderful. Everything these two go through to get their happily-ever-after had me chuckling, and seriously questioning, ‘What on earth is this author doing here (like, is he serious?).
3.5 stars- Low angst, a zany plot, and insta-love

I’ve neither read this author’s work nor the ancient Greek work Irresistible is based upon, but the blurb sounded fun and I’m always up for a good romantic comedy. Admittedly, I didn’t know quite what to make of the writing style and pacing at first. This was insta-love magnified, and it was more than a little jarring when combined with a quick, sometimes scattered narrative. However, once I adapted and recognized that the erratic and rushed

This was a difficult one to review fairly. I decided to go in and start reading without checking the blurb first, liking the element of surprise. The cover is gorgeous and I was expecting a fairly standard romance, if I'm honest.

I liked Brendan, although he clearly has issues with falling in insta-love and not learning his lesson when it all goes horribly wrong. He's a modest guy, still reeling from the latest romantic disaster, when his head is turned by a gorgeous blond antique seller in New

(.• Fast paced love, high on the unimaginable

I don't know if I am dying from laughter or the hilarity of it all. From instalove to kidnappings to jealousy and search and rescue, I am still reeling and thinking, did I read that? New to me author Andrew J. Peters took a tale and adding his own sense of dramady and far-fetchedness. I will say honestly, I rolled my eyes so far in the back of my head so many times I am still in pain. Yet, I read on to see what else could happen to our MCs Brendan

What a funny story. An incredible series of events...
Brendan and Cal meet at an antique shop. A bit of a whirl wind romance. They fall in love, that thought s the beginning of their crazy tale. Cal is part Greek and some Greek history and words are thrown in for good measure.
Then there is Derek. He is the best friend of Cal. Everything goes along rather nicely til the wedding. Then one event causes a string of events. Things spiral from there.
The rest of this tale is about the adventures

Instalove, I felt like this book was love at first sight and everything went very quickly, then wham crazy twist and turns over and over. I can't believe that everyone single man that see's Cal wants him, that was just to much for me to believe no matter how good Cal looks. As for Brendan's adventures I could see some of it happening but over all. I felt like this book just tried way to hard to pack so much stuff in to one book that it was personal for me to much to even believe for a good work ...more

Zany and fun romp that brings love and romance. Instant attraction and connection to interesting journeys create a fun and interesting read.

Brendan and Cal are really sweet MC's and you will be swept up in their romance and enjoy their journey.

I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my review.

This was a strange but good read. I have to say that in all honesty, this hooknis really outlandish. This is definitely a book I would call a fairy tail. The reason I say this is because there is no way that most of what happens is this book could even be imagined as real.

Brendan comes from an extremely wealthy family. His family owns a huge freight liner for shipping. He tried to contribute to the family company but really he is more of a poster boy then anything. What Brendan really wants out

The story this plays homage to is described as high melodrama, unrealistic and even ludicrous. I thought the author did a great job in writing a story which is all of that, and more. Irresistible sets the parody tone right from the beginning, while the plot is still a feasible boy meets boy, and they fall in love. Instantly.

I liked Derek and Cal’s easy friendship at the beginning of the story, although I thought Brendan needed a big landslide of reality and to seriously get a life. The

This book was one crazy ride. It seemed so sweet and romantic early on. Brendan and Cal met and fell almost immediately in love. They'd each had relationships that ended badly before, but that didn't slow them down at all. They rushed right into forever. I found them both to be very sweet. When they traveled to Greece with their families and friends for a storybook wedding, all hell broke loose.
There were so many funny or absurd things going on in this story, and I laughed out loud several

I was given this ARC from NetGalley and NineStar Press, LLC for an honest review. THANK YOU!

Brendan is a shy socialite in New York wandering the city on a boyfriend hiatus and wanders into a Greek antique store to find the angelic Cal. Cal's visiting NY for the summer on a tight budget, working in his Uncle's store and living with his best friend, Derek, in a dirty, small apartment. It's love at first sight, but in a good way. Soon they are on a trip to Greece for their wedding when they

Andrew Peter’s Irresistible is such a fun read. Cal is fatally beautiful, as in irresistibly attractive to a fault. And comedy ensues as his good looks cause trouble for he and his fiancé Brendan as they head toward their wedding in Greece. Nothing is as it seems.

Peters’ prose treats us to his expertise in Greek mythology and the history of ancient civilizations. And he cleverly explores the darker underpinnings of human behavior, including the sometimes absurdity of love and war. Furthermore,

What a fun book! First, let me say that I like characters that go beyond stereotypes and plot lines that are creative and push boundaries. This has both! Irresistible is literally, irresistible.

As far as the typical M/M romance goes, author Andrew J. Peters fulfills all the standard 'story requirements' in the first few pages... and then the fun really begins! Irresistible is as much an adventure novel as it is romance- albeit much is tongue in cheek.

I couldn't help smiling and even laughing

Cal and Brendan are insta-love and I love that... The romantic aspect of meeting someone and instantly connecting.
Brendan was supposed to be taking a break from dating but the temptation that is Cal is too much. Cal feels cursed because he has a history of getting crazy admirers and stalkers. But together they believe they have found something different and more powerful than their pasts and soon they are engaged and at their destination wedding. But things can't be that easy and soon the two

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a firm believer in slow-burn romance, and generally avoid all insta-love stories I come across. However, there was something about this novel's blurb that just instantly intrigued me, and I'm really glad I went out of my comfort zone for this story. While, sure, I wish the two main characters had known each other longer before becoming engaged, I loved their relationship and found their dynamic to be both sweet

From that review: "I cannot begin to tell you how close to a one star rating this book came. Had I written the review shortly after I finished it, it might have even garnered a zero, that's how truly awful a mess I feel Irresistible by Andrew J Peters is. But I have waited until the light of day and some distance between me and it (and loads of coffee) before sitting down to

A funny comedy-of-errors/rom com combination, full of slapstick humor. When Brendan and Cal first meet, sparks fly and it's love at first sight. Then they find themselves victims of a number of highjinks and absurd adventures which either kept me laughing or on the edge of my seat. Through it all, in spite of all their misadventures, they manage to stick with each other and achieve their happy ending. I loved this book.

It took me 10 days to read 45%. I just couldn't get into it. Way to much insta-love.

New author for me. The blurb really had me interested in the book. This was an insta-love type of read. While I don’t hate them and most of the time love reading them, it was a lot going on for the couple. It’s has its pretty funny moments but was lacking the romance part of the book.

It was an enjoyable read with a lot a of drama going on. The BFF is of the chain.
However the ending could use some work. Overall not a bad free book. If I were to buy it I think I would have skipped it.

This book was absolutely over the top ridiculous and I’m pretty sure I’ve sprained my eyeballs from rolling them so hard. That being said, it’s meant to be ridiculous and over the top, so yay to the author for accomplishing what he set out to achieve. This is an old school harlequin-esque drama of epic proportions as our two hapless heroes face innumerable trials and tribulations as they attempt to make their way down the aisle to their happily-ever-after.

I loved how the author created both MCs.
