Saul Chase has no secrets from Lowri Connor… …it’s a shame the same can’t be said about her.
When Saul’s fiancée dumps him a month before the wedding, his best friend, Lowri, brings the tequila and a shoulder to cry on. After 17 years, they have supported each other through countless break-ups and shared EVERYTHING—except sex. The first rule of having a best friend who is a girl is never, NEVER date her.
But after arguing with his ex-girlfriend, Saul gets drunk and questions their only rule. Why hadn’t he thought of this before? After all, she is the perfect combo of sexy and fun.
However, plans to sweep Lowri off her feet go awry when an unexpected visitor turns things upside down and Saul realizes Lowri has been hiding not one, but three secrets for many years.
Catching Saul is a friends-to-lovers contemporary romance written for readers who love emotional romantic fiction with a side of suspense. Known for her heart-warming, and heart-wrenching, romance series, Angela Steven’s first standalone in this brand-new Thrill of the Chase Series will have you anticipating the next book before you finish the first!
So, get your fix, buy Catching Saul and binge-read your way to a happy ever after.
Consider me chasing down those Chase brothers! Can’t wait to read more. Whenever I got a spare moment, Saul and Lowri is where my mind wandered to. What was going to happen next? I love that there wasn’t too much backtracking with their relationship. It felt real. After knowing and loving someone for so many years, time isn’t really a factor. There was the perfect amount of emotional inner debates for me as I can often find myself skim reading other romance novels - no where near the case here. I devour Angela Stevens’ fantasy books whenever I get the chance and this contemporary romance didn’t disappoint. It is evocative, well-paced and a very well-written page turner. Give it a read, you’ll find yourself wondering about the rest of the Chase brothers the way I am, especially Nate!
Saul is in a tough place in his life and who better to be there for him than his best friend, Lowri. But at the time these friends each realize they have feelings for one another, it is at the same time people from their pasts have realizations of their own. Will their pasts destroy what Saul and Lowri have come to acknowledge about each other? 5-stars.
Catching Saul is the first novel in a new Angela Stevens romance series featuring the members of the affluent Vermont, Chase family. Saul is the eldest, an acclaimed architect with his own developing business designing and building cabins. He has spent his life so far going through romances in pursuit of true love and happiness, ignoring the person under his nose and at his fingertips for years who was made for him. Vintage, steamy romance from Angela Stevens. I fell in love with Lowri. For me she is the main character of the piece. I am absolutely ashamed to confess the dire thoughts of what I would do to the person threatening to harm her. This is well written in Angela Steven’s unique style, her prose floats out of the page like music without notes. The Kim Gierber editing has gone to work and lifted the writing to a higher level. I would have liked the book to continue for a few more pages to expand, lengthen and heighten the periods of suspense. They were over too quickly for me. As lyrical as they are, I found myself skimming over some of the more lengthy expositions to concentrate on the story line, but that is I, and is not a criticism of the writing. It is an entertaining and informative read written in an engaging American vernacular. A good first book in a promising series, one in which I look forward to meeting Lowri again. I love that lady!
How many of us have had that friend for whom we’ve felt the pull of attraction, but the timing was never right and then the years slipped by and we think we’ve missed the opportunity? Still it’s hard to let go of what could be….
Angela Stevens book, Catching Saul, is a sweet romance between best friends, Saul and Lowri, who have known each other since junior high. They’re now 30 and Saul has just broken up with his fiancé. Both have cared for each other for years but neither want to ruin the good friendship they have.
Sounds familiar, and it is because it’s a common theme in romance novels.
What makes Catching Saul stand out from the others is the maturity and depth of the characters. They have real life emotions and reactions, but they are not idiotic in their responses. Saul and Lowri have challenges as they move their relationship from friends to lovers and some of these are uncomfortable and result in kneejerk reactions that quickly give way to understanding and trust.
It's also well-written, well-paced and each scene moves the story forward - all critical elements of a 5-star review.
Catching Saul in an easy Sunday read, an indulgence like sweet chocolate and bubble baths. It’s exactly the right amount of everything to make you feel satisfied.
I like that Angela Stevens has set this up to be a series. I look forward to reading about the other family members.
A great friends to lovers read, focusing on the relationship between long term friends Saul ,and Lowri. Saul is engaged to be married but gets dumped by his fiancé and turns to Lowri. Lowri has been keeping secrets from Saul, and it was fascinating to see their relationship change and develop into more lovers than friends. A guaranteed ‘happy ever after’, this was a fun read and great escapism. I happily spent the weekend in Saul and Lowri’s company; I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
really enjoyed this heartfelt story! It was a fun read with a little suspense and wonderful passion. I liked the characters and the story-line. Soul and Lowri are made for each other. Great friends with wonderful chemistry! This is the first book I have read by this author and look forward to reading more of her work.

Saul and Lowri have been best friends since she was fifteen. They've been there for each other through everything... well, not quite everything. Lowri has two secrets that she's kept from Saul. But she's trying to tell him the big one, she just can't find the right time.💖
This book is really well written and has some pretty big twists and turns in it. I found myself really connecting with both characters and going along their emotional journey together, right from the very start. I was giggling with them, crying with them, getting angry and hurt with them, and celebrating with them. It was a great read from start to finish and I am looking forward to the second book in this new series. 💕💓💕

Wow a great emotional read. Some books hint & don't deliver but Lowri's secret is big & it's an important issue to raise awareness to. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series. If you loved Lemon Drops & Love you'll like this book too.
Saul and Lowri have been best friend for over half of their lives. Both have their own lives but an invisible rope tries them together. When their paths meet again, unbeknown to each other they begin to have thoughts about each other. But neither want to take it furthero as they'd risk losing their friendship. A great easy read, with some adult themes. A romantic novel dealing with friendship, love and secrets.
When Saul's dumped by his fiancée, he turns to his longtime best friend, Lowri, for comfort. Saul and his family are Lowri's home. They've sheltered her from her father's abusive ways for years, and think of her as family. All those years, though, of friendship, and Lowri's keeping a few secrets from Saul. Can their friendship survive when Saul finds out her big secret? Can they successfully navigate the slippery slope of friends morphing into lovers? And will Lowri's past, in the form of her addict brother, keep her from experiencing the happiness Saul's love will bring her?
Catching Saul is a superb friends to lovers story. Lowri and Saul are a wonderful couple, both as friends, and as lovers. I love how easy they are with each other and how deeply they really feel for each other. But it's not just the two who make this such a hit, Saul's entire family is as likable and interesting as Saul and Lowri. I'm really looking forward to more from this big cast of characters.

Catching Saul by Angela Stevens.

However, plans to sweep Lowri off her feet go awry when an unexpected visitor turns things upside down and Saul realizes Lowri has been hiding not one, but three secrets for many years. An absolutely fantastic read. Loved some characters and there was some characters that I didn't like. Favourite part was when Nate and saul went to help Marcus get Lowri. Highly recommended. 5*.
Saul Chase and Lowri Conner have been best friends for years. There was some underlying attraction, more on Lowri’s part, but they never acted on it afraid to mess up their friendship. At the beginning of the book Saul just broken up with his fiancée Elaine, who left him for her ex, but she keeps coming back trying to mess up his life. Saul and Lowri decide to move forward with a romantic relationship, but she doesn’t tell him she’s married to Marcus, who she only spent a few weeks with before separating. Between his ex and hers and her drugged up crazy brother who kidnaps her to use her to pay off a man he owes money to, their story had many twists and turns. They both messed up. Saul shouldn’t have had sex with Elaine after he kissed Lowri and thought about starting a romantic relationship with her. But Lowri shouldn’t have agreed to marry him when she was already married. I saw hints of a potential relationship with Marcus and Saul’s younger sister Noah in a future book.
I was already a fan of this author's paranormal fantasy series, so I knew I could rely on her writing style and storytelling. I love true romance and there is plenty here, with a solid plot to give it substance. The story gravitates around two well-developed characters, best friends, Lowri and Saul. The reader is taken along on their exploration of their relationship. There are twists as secrets from Lowri's past pop up and she struggles with her troublesome addict brother, Charlie. Things escalate when Lowri suddenly goes missing. She finds herself in great danger. Meanwhile, Saul has challenges of his own, not least, finding out what happened to Lowri. This is a satisfying story that will definitely appeal to fans of contemporary romance.
Lauri and Saul had been best friends since forever and told each other everything and supported each other. Only one thing they never told the other - that they wanted more than just friendship, but did not dare to risk it, afraid of losing the friend. When Saul's fiancée leaves him just shortly before the wedding, Lauri moves in with him to help him make the transition. Living together brings back all the feelings they tried to hide and finally they come out. A really nice story - well-written and entertaining, maybe through its fair simplicity. I enjoyed the stories of the series - read all of them - but I think this one is my favorite. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book in this series, but I am reading it third and found it is a standalone with some overlapping characters. Saul is just a great guy from a wonderful family. Lowri not so much. And she has secrets she’s keeping from Saul and no one she can really call family, including her brother. I enjoyed the three I have read and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Most of the characters could be real people you know. There is some action and some sex, but the story of Saul and Lowri is the focus

It’s a good thing Lowri shares Saul's family! Elaine, Saul's fiance dumps him and returns to her ex, Kelvin. Lowri returns from chaperoning Saul's baby sister on a six month tour. Elaine has crushed on Saul who she's known for 17 years. Saul is absolutely oblivious although he checks her out. Elaine has a couple of secrets which may/not affect any more involved relationship she may have with Saul. This was a delightful story. Saul's family is fun, loving and amazing. In other words, a typical family.Well written story, fun theme and wonderful characters. I look forward to reading more. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
I found this novel a satisfying, quick and easy read. The characters and story are engaging right from the start, and their actions don’t feel unrealistic or very badly-judged. I was really rooting for Saul and Lowri from the start and as I don’t want to give any spoilers, I’ll just say the plot was more exciting than I expected - some parts of the story had me gripped, and I read the whole book in one day.
I hope to read more about the Chase brothers (and sister and mother!) in future instalments!
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I very much enjoyed reading “Catching Saul”, It is an enjoyable, engaging, friends to lovers book with an intriguing, captivating, well written storyline that had me hooked from the beginning, I didn’t want to put it down. The great, interesting characters, Saul & Lowri, are lovely and engaging and have great interaction and chemistry that held my attention from start to finish. I really liked and enjoyed reading about them. Angela Stevens has written a very enjoyable, entertaining, must read romance
This has so many things that are great about it that I couldn't not give it 4*. The characters were well written. They had depths that made me feel an emotional bond towards them. Lowri was an interesting characters because she kept many things hidden but claimed that Saul was her best friend. I felt bad for Saul because her secrets could hurt him. The family was so cool and so supportive. Overall a great book
Not really my cup of tea. I liked it at first. What I thought was annoying was when the hero slept with his ex even though he realizes that he was in love with his best friend. Ugh. I could not finish this book. Sorry. I hate alot of drama and this book had too much drama. Too much love triangles. Annoying as heck. I just want to say to the author that she needs to learn how to edit and pare down
He was dumped just a month before his wedding and he turns to his best friend who had always been there. There was just one rule never have sex with her. Then he thinks any not get together but he is about to learn she had kept three secrets from him. What are they? Can he forgive ner? See what will happen
I just love a book jam-packed full of secrets and attractions! Catching Saul does not fail to deliver! I loved the book! It was really well written and the characters were great! I would highly recommend this book to all!!

Saul and Lowri have been best friends for seventeen years. Saul fiancee breaks up with him a month before their wedding. He finds that he doesn't care that they broke up. Lowri comes back after a year of touring with his sister. He starts to realize that he has feelings for her and she feels the same but is hiding a secret from him. I loved this story and the characters.
