Rhapsody and Rebellion (Enduring Legacy #7) by Aubrey Wynne was a intriguing, interesting historical romance, that had me hooked.

This was my first read from this author and this series. No worries this reads as a standalone, so don't let that big number seven frighten you. In saying that, I am going to be checking out the other book in this series, because if they are anything like this one then.. girl, I can't even right now.

Being set in the 1820's, it was richly detailed and lush, I found my

Using His Second Sight.
Maeve, the mother of Gideon, the new Earl of Stanfeld, has a terrible dream of her nephew, Ian, who traveled to Manchester on business. She dreams that Ian is trampled and killed by an army horse during a workman's protest rally in the streets of Manchester. She has the second sight, but it only comes when there is a chance to change the outcome. Maeve insists they travel back to her Scotland home asap.

Sure, enough, Ian was killed and they arrive just in time for the fune

Love conquers all. Even though Gideon’s Scottish mother easily made the decision to follow her heart and marry an English nobleman, his path to love is filled with obstacles. Maeve swore love saw her through the tough times, and Gideon hopes the same for his romantic journey. Finding his Scottish side on a trip to his mother’s ancestral home, he falls for a young widow who recently lost her husband. Even as sparks fly, Lissie must adhere to the rules of the time, mourning her deceased husband fo ...more

Rhapsody And Rebellion: (Once Upon a Widow) is an awesome historical romance by Aubrey Wynne. This is a fairly quick, clean read, perfect for those with limited reading time. This book is appropriate for any age. Ms. Wynne has given readers a well-written book populated with amazing, fun characters. Gideon is an English earl but has roots in Scotland. Lissie is the widow of Gideon's Scottish cousin. Their story is loaded with drama, humor, action, suspense and a bit of magic. I loved every page ...more

The exciting book starts with fear, visions, rebellion, uprisings and riots. Then death, sadness and then tears😢. That quickly changed when Countess Stanton had a vision and knew she had to go back to the Highlands to her family, her people. Gideon had a difficult time understanding his mother's vision, but would do anything for her. They set out for Scotland and here and their Maeve tried to tell him of the Legacy through her clan the MacNaughtons that started with their ancestors the Dalais Cl ...more

Rhapsody and Rebellion: Once Upon a Window is the seventh book in the Enduring Legacy Series by Aubrey Wynne. This was an intriguing historical romance with drama, action, humour, suspense, second chances- and where love truly does conquer all.
Gideon is the Earl of Stanfeld- he is proper, pragmatic, and controlled. But his predictable world will be turned upside down when his mother has some unsettling dreams and he agrees to take her back to her highland roots.

“Rhapsody and Rebellion: Once Upon a Widow” is a lovely story surrounding multiple riots in England and Scotland in the late 18th century. Our hero, Gideon, Earl of Stanfeld, has to take his recently widowed mother, Maeve, back to her home in the Scottish Highlands following a disturbing dream. There he meets the young widow to his cousin, the lovely Alisabeth. I stumbled upon this book recently and hesitated reading it as I don’t normally like to start a series in the middle, however this is no ...more

Rhapsody and Rebellion was a great 5 star read and book #7 in the Enduring Legacy series.

Rhapsody and Rebellion is the seventh book in the Enduring Legacy series. Each book is by a different author (in this case, Aubrey Wynne), but all focus on the same Scottish family whose mysterious powers are both a blessing and a curse. The books can be read as stand-alone stories, but are connected to each other.
I really liked the grounding in historical events, and the attention to historical detail in the worldbuilding. It definitely falls into the historical fiction bracket for combining hi

Rhapsody and Rebellion by Aubrey Wynne is her contribution to a historical romance series Enduring Legacy where multiple writers contribute with their historical stories. It is my first encounter with this writer and I am sure that when I crave some historical romance, I will check out her other writings … AND the Enduring Legacy series itself as even though all the stories are supposedly standalones, they apparently have a common undertone/theme …

I love a good historical romance story so when I read the blurb for this book I knew that I was going to enjoy it and I certainly did. I loved everything about this book, the era, the storyline and the characters. I’ve not read anything by this author previously so it was definitely exciting to find a new author of historical romance to love. Gideon was everything I expected of the male lead in this story and esp

Rhapsody and Rebellion is the seventh book in the series but can be a stand-alone book by Aubrey Wynne. This is a historical romance book with drama, suspense, and second chances. There must have been research done by Aubrey Wynne to be able to write with such clarity with in the time period of this book. I am not one who likes to learn about history because of all the dates but I find this historical romance different. It is interesting when you see the history through another set of eyes. This is intriguing, romantic and entertaining. Gideon is charming, chivalrous, a bit stuffy and unsure. Lissie is sweet, caring and amusing. He went to Scotland because of a dream his mother had, not really believing that it had foretold the future, he was shocked to find that it was true. He was even more shocked to be intensely attracted to his cousin's widow. Lissie and Ian had been betrothed all their lives, Lissie knew it was not a passionate love, but that never mattered to her. So she fou ...more

Man, talk about some sweet heat. Aubrey never ceases to amaze me with her style, perception and insight. This little jewel blew me away with all the twists and turns along with a few glitches here and there make for one enjoyable experience. The characters and their personalities are so realistic and believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The explosive chemistry between the two main characters as they got to know each other as the story unfolds

Here’s a book about a family fighting to save themselves and their beliefs. A family trying to protect the innocent and the ones they love. “It’s an honor and a heavy burden. And I wish to all the saints that I could save ye from both.”

This is my first book by Wynne and what a great start! This story includes mystery, death, rebellion, The Legacy and even second chances. People protesting the government is not a new age situation. It goes back many years, in this story’s case back to the 1700’s.

Rhapsody and Rebellion (Once Upon a Widow) is book seven in the Enduring Legacy series by Aubrey Wynne. I have not read this author's work before, and found it a little hard to get settled into the book, as I had missed the first six books in the series. But that did not last for long. I still really enjoyed the story.

It has been so long since I have read a book of this genre, and the stype in which the story was written was well set out, well planned and immaculately executed. A storyteller of

It's been a LONG time since I've read a book like this and it's one I devoured.

Gideon the Earl of Standfeld was raised to be his father's image. He's very practical and exact. Lines are not blurred in his world so when his mother has a dream and begs to go back home to Scotland, he has no idea how his life is about to change and one highland beauty will catch his eye.

This book is the 7th book in the series but definitely can be read a standalone. I enjoyed the characters as well as the story in

This book is a historical romance, and the first I read in this series, and I LOVED IT. I found myself lost in the world of Gideon and Alisabeth. Very enjoyable read of an Earl and a Scottish Lass. Lizzie and Gideon are wonderful together. Her being so care free and him the stuffy Lord. I enjoyed watching Gideon become his own man instead of the man his father and Society expect him to be. I loved all of Clan MacNaughton, they are exactly as I imagine a Scottish clan to be. Definitely reccomend as it is a great read.

Rhapsody and Rebellion: (Once Upon a Widow) (Enduring Legacy Book 7) By Aubrey Wynne. Rhapsody and Rebellion (Once Upon a Widow) by Aubrey Wynne is the seventh book in the Enduring Legacy series. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
This is a great example of historical romance. I sometimes find these books hard to get into as they aren’t set in our time but there was no issue at all with this book. You are drawn into the characters and the story straight away.
My other issue with historical romance is that I find the stories tend to be quite boring but that it also not the case

Great Read

This book was great, it's Lissie and Gideon story, Maeve Gideon's mom has a vision and travels back to her homeland of Scotland . Gideon falls in love with Scotland but he is an Earl in England, his cousin has just been killed and he had married Lissie for peace of 2 clans. Gideon begins to have feelings for Lissie while in Scotland she travels back to England with Gideon and Mave. I like this story also because it brings up the riots over textiles in Scotland also.
