With Demon Lord Milim hanging around Tempest Rimuru has his hands full making sure she doesn't accidentally create trouble (although she seems friendly enough as she discovers new things) but now that she is there the potential of other demon lords causing trouble in Tempest has risen as well. Even before the book is over the demon lord Carrion has already sent a group to attempt to recruit either the Orc Lord or Rimuru depending on who one the battle. Phobio however is not a tactician and gets off on the wrong foot immediately upon entering Tempest so relations are tenuous at best already as Rimuru must do his best to keep the peace.

Meanwhile recruits from the human kingdom of Falmuth are dispatched to handle the Orc Lord situation (to little to late.) Along the way they meet other humans and all of them find their way to Tempest where a plan is formed with one of the humans that will hopefully cement the idea that the monsters in Tempest are not going to be aggressive toward them and hopefully peace will reign between the two groups just as the Dwarves have allied with Rimuru. Things are only going to get crazier from here on out though I bet. :)

My favorite part of the book would have to be Benimaru's reaction to Rimuru holding the secret of honey from everyone until he had a better method of making it followed by the creation of the sweet tooth alliance designed to find a source of sugar so Sweets can be created . :)

Extrait :

Not really a whole lot happening in this volume, very much just filler. Still, it's fantastic to have more of the walking chaos that is Milim, and I really liked the guy (Youmu) that's been introduced. He seems very much an anti-hero character, and I have high hopes for how he's going to develop throughout the series.

Plus, it's great having a blunt-as-anything character with a heart of gold that just... says exactly what he's thinking about all the people he really should not be talking shit about XDD

Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)

Summary:

Mikami's life hasn't gone as planned – or hoped. Unfortunately, his life was a fair bit shorter than expected. The one bit of good news is that he woke up in a new world. The strange news? He's now a slime.

Rimuru's life has changed so much since first waking up in this new world – and it's about to change a whole lot more. New allies, potential threats, and more are just around the corner. Will Rimuru and his growing group survive it all?

Review:

Ah, you can see that the gears are turning, and another major plot will soon kick off. In the meantime, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Vol. 7 helps to set things in motion further. There are so many characters in the mix now it can take a moment to get them all straight.

That said, I'm really enjoying this series. More than I thought I would back when I first started. It really grows on you! So, if you've been on the fence this whole time, I strongly urge you to give That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime a shot.

It was nice seeing some familiar faces pop back up. Likewise, I'm curious to see where this new plot will lead. Will we be seeing more of the humans? And if so, will it be a good thing, or will humans do what humans do best? (cause chaos). I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out.

I still love the idea of Rimuru introducing sweets (honey) to the kingdom. It's cute and oddly delightful.

Volume 7 of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is mostly what feels like set up. Its main focus is split between two different aspects. The first of which is building up the world as a whole, by either showing other new factions, or by having characters make reference to things not seen in the series yet. Both of which are a result of the world becoming aware of Rimuru' s Kingdom and the affects it is having on the world as a whole. I can't wait to see how all these new factions will impact the story going forward.

The second thing that the volume focuses on, is with so many characters added to the series, it was the prefect time to slow down and get to see how they all interact with each other. Some friendships were amusing, while others were more sweet. It certainly gives the volume a very relaxed feel, like a well earned rest. In short it's not the most crucial or exciting volume thus far but it does lay quiet a bit of ground work.

Slime Rimuru decides to appoint a human Champion to deflect attention about the death of the Orc Lord.

Here's where I part ways with this series. It hasn't ever made me fall in love and since the average rating at this point is 4.4, and I'm still at a steady 3, I don't think it will happen.

I loved the idea of a human from our world being thrust into a fantasy world, particularly the idea that they were inhabiting the body of a slime, but that's (sadly) not really what this book is about. It's about a more usual fantasy with lots of battles and politics. And it was good, but not great.

Rimuru continues to get allies and the demon lords keep scheming. This volume was mostly negotiating, Milim eating and Rimuru trying to set up things. Which I enjoyed but waiting for something big to happen now, they've hinted at the troubles the demon lords will surely bring but so far that's all.

Ribbon Rimuru was a highlight of this volume, haha! Even during slower volumes, the characters carry it. I really like Rimuru and the kijin are my favourites and in general the cast is good. Looking forward to the next volume.

This volume continues with the pleasant developments, barring a particularly tense moment with the followers of another demon lord, watching Milim getting integrated into the group is fun. Also, humans are back in the picture, with Shizu's old gang back in town, this time with their guild master in tow. Together with another group humans, Rimuru hatches a plan for better relations with human kingdoms. Lastly, with the way it ended, things are going to take a turn for the worse soon, as Clayman starts another plot in motion.

The process continues for Rimuru and friends. Their town continues to grow and evolve from book to book in what to me feels like a viable way. Our visitor from the last volume seems to be permanent which brings its own set of troubles. Stay tuned for more. (At this rate I'm going to have to pick up the light novels because I'll have run out of manga!)

Verdict: TTIGRaaS is a load of fun, easy to read and well done. Certainly start from the beginning, but pick this one up!

Pretty good book. It develops the plot about Miliam living and what she is doing in the monster village. How the human scout thing came then stayed with them. Rimuru made a story for the human party to tell when they got home too. At the end it seems like it is leading into another battle scene for Vol. 8. I hope volume 8 will come out soon.

In this one we see that things are about to get complicated. Everyone wants to get to the city of Rimuru and everyone wants to see what is this slime all about. Often he is not perceived well for being a slime but he is kind, helpful, a good friend and powerful so to any occasion there’s a solution.

More building ofnthebplot isnbeing done in the series, nothing too major to note other than meeting some more characters that look like will play a role in an upcoming arc.

The veldora diary is still brilliant and interesting. This manga series is truly amazing

3.5 - Ahhh the action was very well done in this one. It’s smoothly done.

It’s interesting how they fought a battle and nearly didn’t win. I wonder why.

(Ok the fanservice with the ladies holding the slime is actually getting to be one of my bigger annoyances with this series. ( ̄^ ̄))

The way Rimuru is building relationships is so interesting. My favorite is still the commentary from the Storm Dragon, Veldora.

Finally, someone calls them on their "strong followers with wimpy-looking boss" schtick! Clever move to pass off the human as the champion with their help.

A bit of a filler volume, still a fun and a quick read. Milim also star of the show, adorable and clueless (or it seems so :P ).

A great series.

Cheers.

This volume is kind of an in-between volume, after the Orc Disaster battle and before the next big thing. Still entertaining with new characters and character development.
