What a sweet ending!
Alex and Bailey are friends outside of school. He's a popular, rich lacrosse player. She's a smart, coffee house worker from the trailer park. Bailey has dreams of going to film school and Alex is so laid back he hasn't realised he's in love with his best friend.

Bailey wants to make a prom proposal film. She wants her film to be noticed so she has a better chance of getting into film school. She enlists the help of her best friend to help her ask the lucky guy.

“With how much everyone talks about it, you'd think prom is a huge deal at our school, but it's really the promposals that get everyone worked up."

Opening a month before the big day, Love and Other Secrets tells the story of a seemingly mismatched pair dancing the sacred “will they won’t they” dance while navigating the pressures of youth, high school, and their futures.

This story follows Bailey, a poor girl with an interest in filmmaking that is currently working two jobs and trying to win a contest to one her classes and Alex, a rich boy who plays lacrosse, who doesn't know what to do with his life and feels abandoned by his parents. They met at one of her jobs and they instantly become friends, which obviously later on in turns into something more, and when Alex decides that he wants to go to prom with Bailey, she asked for his help to ask another guy to p
This book delivered on everything it promised, especially the promposal aspect, which I personally found to be a little too much. What it didn't deliver was something new. It all seemed a little cliched and predictable, the characters drowning in their archetype characteristics.

ARC providad by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you

When you think about YA contemporary books, you probably imagine a book with fluffy scenes, a lot of funny moments, some teen drama and a cute happily ever after. This book will give you just that, but ONLY that, sadly, it doesn't bring anything new and different for YA.
The development of the characters wasn't good, I always felt like there was something missing in their relationship, maybe if we actually got
The book is light and cute and fluffy like we expect from all YA contemporary romances. But the stakes or conflict never felt interesting enough for me to root for the characters. I also wish the development of their initial friendship was done better because that might have made me connect to them more.

Overall, I recommend this book if you like the usual YA high school stories.

OMG!!! I loved this book so much. I feel like I have been starved from this kind of genre for too long. I miss reading these type of books..ha! It reminds me of my own time at high school gosh I sound so old!

Set in a high school, everyone is just focused on one thing doing a proposal for prom. These proposals are a big deal since they can quickly go viral and die down just as quick. For Bailey, this is a perfect chance to

This book was so good! I could not put it down and even though it is a standalone I am really looking forward to reading the other book under this umbrella (The First Kiss Hypothesis). I loved following Alex and Bailey as they grow closer together and struggle with trying to decide if crossing the best friend line is worth it. The promposal plan was so funny. Alex finally decided he wants to ask his after school kinda secret friend Bailey to prom but when he goes to ask her she asks him for help ...more

ARC kindly provided by Entangled Teen in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book doesn't bring anything new to the plate for Young Adult contemporary, but it's always fun to just devour a cute, fluffy romance. It's an opposites attract, best friends to lovers about two young people who don't know how to communicate properly. Love and Other Secrets follows Bailey: a poor girl with an interest in filmmaking that is currently working three jobs to

So cute, sweet, and fun!

I want more of this story! I have not read a YA contemporary that I liked as much as this one in a long time. It was a typical high school YA story but I enjoyed it so much.

Alex and Bailey are polar opposites. He’s a popular, lacrosse player from a rich family while she is a nerdy movie obsessed girl, from the trailer park who works two jobs. They become quick friends and end up spending lots of time together quickly becoming the best of friends.

Neither of them realize h
I really loved this romance. Alex and Bailey are such a sweet couple. I loved them as a couple. There is tons of sweetness and cuteness. I had so much fun with them. My only pet peeve was that the ending was rushed. Otherwise, really cute novel.

A friends-to-more romance featuring promposals? Yes, please.

I was pretty much all over this book. Between the description and my enjoyment of Mandelski's prior book, The First Kiss Hypothesis, I knew I could expect a fun and cute romance, which would leave a smile on my face.

Things that stood out for me

• The friendship between Alex and Bailey was sort of special. When Bailey and Alex were together, they enjoyed such an ease and could just be themselves. Bailey comments at one

A special thank you goes out to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for allowing me to read an eARC of this book early. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

tw: underage drinking, neglectful parents

As I read books about teenagers falling in love, I've come to the realization that I am old as hell. Everything that happened in this book could have easily been solved if these two teens JUST COMMUNICATED. Don't get me wrong, the tension and drama makes for excellent stories but good lord. This book was ok, but I felt like it sent some conflicting messages. It did feel a little cheesy and the love triangle seemed almost forced. Who decides randomly to ask a guy to go to prom and who decides that "asking" means more? Maybe it would appeal more to junior high age.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

This is a cute and sweet book.
Alex is a great character and Bailey is a great counterpoint.
I do think this book is a little young for me, more suited to a teen audience rather than anyone older than that.
The story is solid, with a heap of drama which keeps things interesting, but ultimately a little young for me.

I received Love and Other Secrets by Christina Mandelski from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This has no impact on my review. My thoughts are my own.

I have a hard time getting into prom books now mostly because I'm getting older and each year certain young adult stuff just isn't my thing anymore. For me it's prom stuff because I feel like I can't relate to the excitement of that. I always liked the after party in high school better than the actual prom anyway. I put this book down

4.5 stars — I don’t know what it was about this one, but I was just sucked in and connected with both Alex and Bailey, hardcore. I felt all the tummy tingles, and even the agony of bad decisions and daily life things they were struggling with…as a result, the entire book being about neither of them communicating their feelings and taking a chance didn’t bother me

I love reading YA high school romances, so when I saw that this one was going to come out soon, I just knew that I had to read it!

Bailey was such a unique character. She wasn’t rich and worked two jobs to save up for college and film equipment. She had dreams to win awards for her films in the future, but to get there she must succeed at winning an award for a short film and getting into a local film festival. At first, she doesn’t think anything of just finding someone to ask out for prom. But

Make sure you add it to your Want to Read shelf!

My addiction to reading started early, I remember my teacher in first and second grade really opened my eyes to the world of books. My mom really did everything from there to feed my love by filling my world with library trips and a bookshelf full of books. I quickly took a likeness to romance and as soon as I discovered young adult/teen romances it was all I read over many years, and in that time I

I am so in love with "Love and Other Secrets"- it's gooey and adorable and all the things! Alex and Bailey are secret friends- they met while Bailey was working one of her two jobs at Publix in the express lane where Alex was checking out. Alex eventually invited her to hang out, and since then, they have been spending a lot of time together- as friends.

Bailey dreams of being an award-winning director- well, actually those are goals because she is working as hard as she can to get there. And she

I love reading light and fluffy teen romances and Entangled Teen Crush books never fail to win me over. They’re delightfully adorable, swoony, and just really fun to read. Love and Other Secrets was no exception and certainly had me feeling the FEELS.

I enjoyed Christina Mandelski’s “The First Kiss Hypothesis,” so I was really excited when I read the blurb for Love and Other Secrets. With promposals, stolen kisses, slow dancing, and cuddling with your secret best friend, I couldn’t wait for the s

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC!

This was soooooo cute!! Classic will they/won't they. Alex and Bailey are secret friends - they mostly hang out at Alex's house, since they don't take any of the same classes at school and Bailey is working 2 jobs to save for college. She spends her lunch hours doing homework, so the only time she can see Alex is after work. Unlikely friends, they got along really well - everything is so easy when they're together. As promposal season approaches, Alex Koviak (known

I really enjoyed The First Kiss Hypothesis when I read it last year, so I was pretty excited to be offered an ARC of Love and Other Secrets. And I’ll admit it — this book was pretty cute. I read it over about three hours and had a great time. So why three stars? It all comes down to my personal preferences.

Let me start with the characters. I loved Bailey. She was driven, determined, and just feisty enough without being over-the-top. I loved Alex. While he initially came off as a spoiled jock, he

It's no secret that I'm a fan of Entangled Crush reads and Mandelski's style of writing. It's fun, fast and a little predictable. If you like Sweet Valley High style books then you have found new author and a new publisher! Stand tall friends, don't let people dim your light for SVH!

I feel confident that if promposals existed when I was in high school, I would have been the girl watching on the side, turning beet red just witnessing the entire scene unfold, all while secretly hoping

So I was desperate for more YA contemporary romance and although this didn't sound particularly looked okay. So I guess that's why we're here haha

I enjoyed this book and I liked the relationship between the main two characters. After a long time, I also really enjoyed the dual perspective/opinion because in my opinion (haha seen what I did there), it adds depth to the book.

One major problem I had with this book was that literally the entirety of it except maybe the last 30 pages were

When I was a kid, I loved to read and write, and I loved going to the library. It was in the children's departments of the libraries I frequented that my dream of becoming a writer took hold.
