Favorite Quotes:

Their kiss was tentative but familiar, like rediscovering a favorite song, one he hadn’t heard since high school. She tasted like scotch and nostalgia, melting the winter night around them with memories of a red-checked blanket and the scent of warm grass.

4.5 - "Hell of a way to spend Christmas Eve…" Stars!

I was lucky enough to read My Gift Is You straight after finishing If The Shoe Fits. As a crossover novella to close out the Risking It All series, and integrate readers into the new Almost Royal series by giving a little introduction to the characters and locale, Rachel Lacey absolutely nailed it.

"We’ve come a long way since high school."

As soon as I saw this novella was announced, I knew I had to put it on my TBR.  I've read the complete Risking It All series and this book is tied to that in the way of cameo appearances, although after reading the book I would say it's a bigger part of the Almost Royal series as the heroine here is the best friend of the heroine of book 1 in that series.  That being said, it can also stand alone and it'll be the perfect little sampler of Rachel Lacey's sweet romances.

Mandy and Calvin had on

I was actually rather surprised by this story! I liked that it acted as a bridge between two different series that the author had written. I loved that it was also a second chance-esque romance for the hero and heroine o

If you haven't yet enjoyed a book by Rachel Lacey I don't know what you are waiting for. She writes wonderful stories that suck you into them.

My Gift to you is like a crossover book. It's part of her Risking it All series but also touches on her newest series, Almost Royal. I can honestly say I enjoyed the Risking it All series and read the first book in the Almost Royal series and can't wait for more.

A passion filled Christmas novella that gives a second chance at finding a soul mate for high school acquaintances who shared a moment after the prom back in the old days.
With the limited length of a novella, a romance story often can go two ways: either focus on the emotional side of developing a relationship or for the physical passion burning between the hero and the heroine in the story. With Mandy Carson and Calvin Rocha, the heat is high, the need is urgent, and the ardent love scenes fill

It's no secret that second chance romances are one of my favorites. Love to watch two people who are destined to be together find their way back to each other and learn new things and rediscover things they already knew about one another. Rachel Lacey did an amazing job with this story. It made me want a second chance of my own. It was sexy and fun to watch Cal and Mandy rediscover what they had many years ago. I also love how she incorporated two series together. My only wish was that it was a ...more

Rachel Lacey’s My Gift is You seamlessly ties together her Risking It All and Almost Royal series. In the final installment of the Risking It All series, longtime readers will thoroughly enjoy seeing Sam and Carly get married and Mandy finally find her way. Calvin is a very nice surprise and easily blends into this world. I really enjoyed seeing Meghan from the Almost Royal series back; I’m very much looking forward to her story. This Christmas novella is the perfect escape from the hustle and b ...more

Good read

Sweet and sexy small town second chance romance. Cal and Mandy are great characters and the author did a great job telling their story in this novella length book. This is easily read in one sitting. Great for a quiet afternoon.

Wow Rachel Lacey knows how to write a great story. Her books catch your attention from page one and keep your attention all the way to the end. I adore how skillfully she puts pen to paper. Rachel Lacey's words are captivating.

My Gift is You is a breathtakingly beautiful book. My Gift is You is unique in the way that it is a crossover for the Almost Royal book series. It is also the final book in the Risking It All series. I must admit I'm heartbroken that the Risking it All series has now ended

Rachel Lacey ties together the end of the Risking It All series and the start of her Almost Royal series in spectacular fashion. celebrating the wedding of one of our couples from the Risking It All series at the venue which is the focal point of the Almost Royal series 😍

Mandy is a difficult character to get to grips with. From the beginning, there is a sense of grief that overshadows all of Mandy's life, although the cause of her melancholy is not revealed for quite so time. Uncovering Mandy's

Short, sexy and oh so sweet! A sweet novella taking place around the holidays does a great job of wrapping up Rachel Lacey's Risking It All series as well as tying in her newest Almost Royal series so we get a glimpse into two worlds at once! The characters were as well developed as they can be in a novella length book, and the plot, though fast paced, was sweet and enjoyable.

This is a crossover story for Risking it all and Almost Royal. However, I fell in love with the cover and did not realize it was part of a series until the end so dont be nervous if you are considering reading this as a stand alone!

Rachel Lacey does an amazing job at pulling the readers into this story and making you fall in love with the characters! This short, sweet and sexy holiday book captivated me from the start and I did not want to put it down . I absolutely love books with second chance

Having recently completed If the Show Fits, the first book in the Almost Royal series, it was fun to read about a wedding being held at Rosemont castle. While the wedding is between two characters from the Risking It All series, this novella can be read as a stand alone because the love story is actually about two guests at the wedding. It is in fact a second chance romance between high school sweethearts. What more can you ask for than a second chance at love while staying at a romantic castle? ...more

This short story is SO FUN and it totally put me in the holiday spirit! (The Hallmark movies I am watching in the evenings isn't hurting!) Second chance romances are always a favorite for me, and I loved Cal and Mandy together. I have really enjoyed the Risking It All series and this novella was a fun way to wrap it up. I am also loving the Almost Royal series, and love the crossover. HOWEVER, this novella, or any of the books in either series, can totally standalone, so I absolutely recommendin ...more

A Hot Christmas Novella
I loved the beginning on how Mandy and Cal met up again. I wouldn't call this a 2nd chance romance exactly, but they weren't strangers and their progression was pretty rapid.
There were serious issues addressed in here, but because it's a novella, those issues didn't get the attention I would have liked. I didn't feel the warm fuzzies toward Mandy and know nothing much about Cal at all, but they had chemistry.
The crossover was great, remembering old friends, and I always l

What is not to love about this book??

Finally get to see Mandy get her happy ending and boy did Ms Lacey make it worth her while as Calvin was just what she needed. They were each other’s firsts, and the chemistry was still very much there.

What I loved about this novella was that it let you catch up with friends from the Risking it all series, but because Carly and Sams wedding was being held at Rosemount Castle, introduced in the first book in the Almost Royal book, you got to revisit new friend

This was such a great crossover book, combining both the Risking it All series as well as the Almost Royal series. I was so happy that Mandy finally got her happily ever after, and that it was with Calvin. Mandy & Calvin went to school together & had a memorable encounter at their prom years earlier. Mandy had given up on love but needed a date to her friends Carly & Sam's wedding & she asked Calvin who also knew the happy couple. This was the perfect kind of novella. Lacey has perfected a quick read that had me completely invested in the lives of the characters. There was a lot of heart and a bit of heat too. What I loved is that there was a past with these characters. They weren't meeting out of the blue and falling in love. Mandy and Cal were building on something that started back when they were practically kids.

Cal & Mandy are a perfect couple & it seems they were destined to be together. From an almost disastrous start to a fairy tale ending, this book kept my attention & engaged my emotions. This was a perfect cross over between the two series. I loved the addition of the animal rescues! I was happy for the update on the hawk. This was a wonderful short story with plenty of heat. I just wish it had been longer!

This was a fun and short thing.

We have Mandy and Calvin, they knew each other from school and now after a very weird situation, lol, they reconnect and see what they could be now.

Like I said, this was fun and short, so things get to the point fast, but the story isn’t rushed, it has a good pace.

I liked these two and was glad they ended up together. :-)

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

Sparks are still flying between the two of them. Mandy invites Cal to her friends wedding not wanting to go alone.
