Michael J. Allen is a USA Today bestselling author of multi-layer science fiction and fantasy novels. Born in Oregon and an avid storm fan, he lives in far too hot & humid rural Georgia with his two black Labradors: Myth and Magesty. On those rare occasions he tears himself away from reading, writing and conventions he can be found enjoying bad scifi movies, playing D&D or the occasional video game, getting hit with sticks in the SCA or hanging out with the crew of Starfleet International’s U.S.S. Michael J. Allen has done it again! Another quality read and awesome story.

Hearing the story from the "bad" guy's perspective is amazing. You start off booing him then you swing too feeling sorry for him and watch out! Another swing to hating him then back to feeling sorry again. There are periods of utter hilarity in the book. I found myself more than once howling with laughter only to turn the page and feel boiling rage or abject sorrow.

Another amazing chapter in the Scion series. The storyline keeps your attention and leaves you wanting more. I simply cannot wait for the next installment to find out the answers I was left with.
Mr. Allen is an excellent author and his books are pure escapism. After finding this series, he is definitely on my top 5 authors now. I might even say he is giving my #1 a run for the money. Whether you are a sci-fi fan or action fan, you will find something in this series to cater to your needs. A bit of this, a bit of that leads up to one fantastic read.

Hearing the story from the "awful" fellow's point of view is astonishing. You begin off booing him then you swing too feeling frustrated about him and watch out! Another swing to abhorring him at that point back to feeling sorry once more. There are times of absolute humorousness in the book. I got myself more than once crying with giggling just to turn the page and feel bubbling wrath or wretched distress. Another awesome read from writer Michael J. Allen. He has done it once more. Awesome story line and some fascinating characters. This is another of his Science fiction books. I don't read much Science fiction, yet I truly appreciated this one. Miscreants and great folks, what more would you be able to need. An awesome plot? Indeed, it's in there. Incredible employment, Mr. Allen. This is a positive must read.

Manc Shepherd’s alive and mad as hedrin. Instead of the hero’s point of view this is written in the bad guy POV. The main character makes you love to hate him or hate to love depending on the storyline at that time. It’s a funny quick witted book that’s a wonderful addition to scion series. And it adds to the feeling of you just gotta have more in this series.

I was excited to see that author Michael J. Allen had another book following the first two I read in the Scion series. I am not sure why it is book 2.5 instead of book 3, though it was shorter than the others, so I guess that might be why, but regardless I was thrilled to get to continue reading. I read 4 of his other books, and was ready for yet another book.

Of all of his books I have read, I think his fantasy books are my favorite. But I have thoroughly enjoyed reading his sci-fi books, too! After reading books 1 and 2, both of which were great, action packed reads, I eagerly attacked book 2.5 wanting to see what else he had in store for me. As with his previous books in the Scion series, I was sucked in to the story from page 1, and quickly carried through the story by his captivating wriitng style and word choice. Again, it was fast paced and full of action packed scenes that left me picturing the story in my mind as it played out in writing. I was easily able to picture things as if it were a movie, and could easily see it as such. As with the first two books in the series, I found myself unable to put it down, reading it from beginning to end in less than a day. I felt he continued to expand on the original story line, further developing the characters and creating an entertaining and engaging read. Overall, the storyline was good, and I was able to quickly move from page to page as plot twists and action drew me forward to the end. I really hope he continues to write more, because what I have read so far has been awesome.

The writing was well done, too. It was free of errors in mechanics, spelling, and grammar. The story flowed smoothly from page to page, and I had no trouble keeping up, no problems understanding what was going on, no questions left unanswered or things that seemed farfetched or unbelievable. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent reading and look forward to more from such a talented author!

I finished reading the third book in the Scion series by Michael J Allen. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Michael's books. This is the continued adventures of Captain Alaric, and the problems and adventure just keep coming. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. Captain Alaric gets into so many situations, you just shake your head at. As with the first and second book, I would highly recommend reading this if you like Sci-Fi adventures. Here is what Good Reads says about the book, "Manc Shepherd’s alive and mad as hedrin. His plan to trap Alaric backfired, nearly costing his life. His backup ambush failed. The kid’s in the wind and Corollas want Manc for the death of Birak and Strepe—the Bishop’s enforcers. Everything he’s done to attain a position within the Corollas upper echelon has been blasted to ashes, but Manc’s not willing to give up his vendetta against the Bishop. Manc puts in motion a plan to capture Alaric and leverage the kid for a bloody meeting with the Bishop. Much as he did before with Cassii’s module, he hunts Alaric’s friends and loved ones starting with Tyne. The sultry piratess falls prey to Manc’s trap, but isn’t about to lay down and die. Tyne determines to undermine his efforts from within, sacrificing herself to protect Alaric. She isn’t alone. Corollas, Protectorate Intelligence and the mysterious Kingsman put themselves in Manc’s way. How far will Manc go for revenge? Will he successfully hijack Alaric’s friends while avoiding Corollas assassins? Will he survive to another showdown with Alaric, and if so, what will Alaric do to free his friends?" https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... Full disclosure: I received this book for free; however I am under no obligation to write a positive or any review on my social media or blog.

Hijacked is the companion book for the Scion series and happens between the 2nd and 3rd books. The main difference for this book, besides the length, is that it is from the point of view of Manc. Manc is one of the villains from the 2nd book and is the main reason the Corolla is following Alaric. Most of what we know of Manc is that he introduced Alaric to the world of intergalactic transport as well as the pleasures that come with them. Alaric remembers him as being the person to introduce him to the Twin Djinns as well as the man that taught him the business, but all of that is tinged with the anger and sadness at being betrayed by him.

In this story, we see Manc as he is trying to capture Alaric because he wants a meeting with Bishop. Bishop is his target and Manc will stop at nothing to get this becasue vengeance is his ultimate plan. I order to get to Alaric, Manc goes after the people that know him or are his targets, the main person on this list is Tyne. Tyne stole Cassii and Manc knows that Alaric will stop at nothing to get her back. Manc, captures Tyne and puts her in a slave collar so that she cannot get away from him. Things change as Tyne and Manc spend more time together and Manc starts wonderinf if Tyne is a different person than he originally thought

The story is so well written and the pacing is fantastic. I could not put it down and the story just flows across the pages. I am big into characters and their developement and this story really helped me to see the depth and breadth of these characters that were easy to overlook previously. I loved it and hope you go check it out.

Full disclosure, I received this for free in exchange for my honest review

After having read the first book in the Scion series I wasn't impressed, but I was hopeful book two would improve the saga. Then after finishing book two I was even more let down, but I am going to finish reading the series because I was asked to read and review them, so here we are on book 2.5. Let's get down to it!

Well, like I said, I wasn't impressed with the first two books so I was not expecting much out of this book. I was pleasantly surprised to find this book is an improvement over the first two. The saving grace of this book, I think, is largely in the fact that the main character of the series is not the focus of this book. In this book, we follow the villain Manc instead of the whiny petulant Alaric of the first two books. And wow, does it make a difference. Not having to deal with pages of Alaric's childish existence is a great respite from the blandness of the main storyline. I was actually interested in this book, unlike the others in the series. I read it and kind of enjoyed it, it isn't the best book I've read, but it is nice to see that the problems in the first two book aren't an indication of poor writing skill on the author's end. I really enjoyed rooting for the bad guy, and I believe that this would be a better path for the future of the series.

Luckily I had already read the first book in this series “Scion of Conquered Earth: A Science Fiction Space Opera Adventure” or I would have been completely lost! These definitely need to be read in order to fully understand and appreciate the story and the characters.

Based on the first book I was pretty excited to get my hands on this book! It is a great series, packed with lots of twists and turns! The characters are well developed and you can’t help but love them quirks and all. They each are going through something troublesome in their lives that makes them even more personable. The plot is well developed, but you definitely should start with the first book in the series. You get a better sense of the main characters and learn even more about them in this book. They are way more developed and like you have known them your whole life. We really get to know them and I loved it! The main woman character is a badass and shes completely awesome! I can’t wait to see what happens in the third book! I really enjoyed this series, it’s science-y and full of outer space alien goodness. Would definitely recommend this series 🙂

Michael J. Allen fez isso de novo! Outra qualidade de leitura e história incrível.

Ouvir a história da perspectiva do "mau" é incrível.

Book three of the Scion series has me just as intrigued as the first two. Hijacked goes on to a role reversal for the bad guy, Manc. He definitely gets a taste of his own medicine. This scifi/adventure continues on the story of space future possibilities. I still have not found any dull moments, or lags to the storyline. The book starts off strong, and ends strong. More than Manc has a role reversal and inner turmoil problem in this third book. We can all identify well, and still go along in the fantasy. This one, was a little shorter than the first two. I was disappointed in that, at first. I found it only added to me wanting to get on with the next book though...lol. Well played Mr. Allen. You may read each installment without the others and not feel too lost. Why would you though...lol?

While Alaric and Cassiopeia are off on their rescue mission during the last chapters of volume 2, we get a closer look at the two characters we all wanted to know more about: Manc Shepherd and Tyne Ren. Some questions get answered, some new questions appear. We finally find out what side (almost) everybody is on. True to his recipe, Michael J. Allen begins the book with a fight/flight scene and keeps the speed and tension up right to the end.
I'd give five stars if it wasn't for the typos. The lack of a professional publisher shows.

I've got 2 words for you "Mind Blown". If you have already read Scion of Conquered Earth (book 1) and Stolen Lives (book 2) you have followed Alaric on his journey with his A.I. companion Cassii (which is totally awesome to have an A.I. character) through trouble and disaster at every turn. So, then comes Hijacked (book 2.5) where you are switching sides and viewing the story from the enemy Manc's eyes. As Manc sets out for revenge against Alaric you get a whole new view which makes the story just that much more intriguing. I definitely recommend this book. Before reading make sure that you have read the first two.

Amazing book for fiction lover.
This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are aproduct of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Locales andpublic names are sometimes used for atmospheric purposes. Anyresemblance to actual people—living, dead or in between, businesses, companies, events, institutions, or locales is completely coincidental.

I loved the twist of having the story from the "bad guy"'s perspective! I love that you can really see his views, and really start to sympathies with him. Throughout there are so many emotional twists and turns.

I absolutely love the whole series (and Michael J. Allen's writing as a whole). The combination of Sci-fi and action are well done, and make for a great time reading.

This shorter edition in the series focuses on the other characters besides the main protagonist in the “main series.” I found this the easiest to read, maybe because it was a bit shorter, or maybe I’m a bigger fan of the bad guy. Either way in the series this is my favorite volume.

Another exciting space adventure but this time it's from the view of Manc Shepard. Do I love him, do I hate him? The answer is yes. This author has such a talent for developing characters. There is never a lag in the action and once you start, you won't want to put it down.

I find each novel in the Scion series has their own most vivid reader memories. “Hijacked” has a more Military, bombardment, and savior type read through while the previous two lead up to this and “Unchained”. I enjoy the conversations, characters, and their roles.
