Beautiful illustrations but HUGE liberties taken with interpreting the text. The worst offender is when the book has Jesus say he is washing the disciples' feet because 'even though I am your teacher, we are all equal.' What Jesus actually says in the Bible is, 'You call me Master and Lord: and you say well; for so I am. If I, then, your Lord and master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet.'

Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures.

This is a very basic introduction to a few popular bible stories. This is in no way inclusive of the entire bible and its definitely for newbies. Some of the devotionals were 1-2 pages while others were 30-40. This isn't my favorite thing weve read, but it wasn't bad.

Beautiful, beautiful pictures! I liked the selection of the stories. What I did not like was making up stuff in some of them. Paraphrasing when writing Bible stories for children? Of course! But this was too much for me. Some chapters were unnecessarily long compared to others which were 1-2 pages.
