Krishna In His Last Days

Rate this book

The author has imagined the last few days of Krishna's live very sensitively. Krishna through his reminisces and conversations with his family retraces his life journey and describes his reasons for his various actions and in-actions. At one point I thought does the God really need to defend his actions but then it came to me that even God are bound by their actions and as such he has been put into docks every so often. So, yes, may be we need to take a look at the whys through his eyes. The author, at the end of the book, has also given a detailed histrocity of Krishna's birth and life by citing various archeological and geological findings available.
However, for me the most beautiful and deep conversations were between Krishna and Radha, it was just mesmerizing.

Worth reading

The book clears lots of doubts about why Krishna did what he did, however, there are one or two points with which I don't fully agree upon, e.g. Krishna's support for kidnapping. Also, the love of Krishna and Yashoda could be explored more in the later chapters.
Other than that, the book is beautifully written. It's definitely insightful and gives answers to a lot of unanswered questions.

Good but could be better

The writer reduces certain acts of Shri Krishna by saying they did not or could not happen and thereby diminishes value of what could have been a beautiful book on Shri Krishna
