Sorry this was too dull for my taste.
The angst level was not there.
Just not for me.

2.5 Stars

After a couple days of debate, I’ve decided to stick with my initial rating of 2.5 stars.

I really wanted to like The Scot’s Montana Bride. The story of Kat and Jamie is cute, but also short and sweet. The problem, I believe, lies in the “short” part.

Kat and Jamie meet while both are on vacation in New Zealand. After a brief, but passionate, holiday fling they go their separate ways. But then Kat decides to take a detour on her travels to Jamie’s home country of Scotland. When she runs

The Scot’s Montana Bride is Book number one in the Scots Take Montana series by Jessica Gilmore. This is Kat Valentine and Jamie McKendrick’s story.

This is a sweet and heartwarming romance. I enjoyed Kat and Jamie’s characters. Here were times I wanted to shake some sense into Kat. A story of two people whose romance blossomed fast. The two grew apart after suffering a loss. Is it too late for Kat and Jamie to have a second chance at love?

Another great story about Marietta, Montana. I reviewed a

The beginning of this romantic tale picks up where we immediately have some catching up to do to do, folks. But not to worry. The author uses inner monologues filled with sadness and regret and main couple conversations to quickly bring us up to date.

Oh, great Scot, I’ve always had a verra sweet spot for a handsome Scottish lad who goes after his girl, even after she’s up and left him. Jamie, the hero, did not disappoint. He a patient man with a mission, and he won’t be swayed. Time and unfortu

The Scot’s Montana Bride showcases the passionate romance of Kat and Jamie, two people from different parts of the world who marry after a rather whirlwind holiday romance only to almost immediately face personal tragedy and issues that tear them apart. I liked the story, yet I didn’t find myself engaging or connecting with this couple and it took me a bit to understand why. I didn’t get the chance to experience that passion that I’m told about since we begin this st

Oh I picked up this book and could not stop until the end. Maybe my Scottish roots were calling to the Scotsman inside. I am not sure... but I can tell you one thing there is just something about a hunk in a kilt ya know.
In this book we get to know the Valentine family up close and personal right well. Kat comes home from walking about all over Europe and abroad because of her sick Grandpa. Where is HOME you ask? Its a little bit outside of Marietta, Montana in Mountain View. She is taking care

Oh Swoon! This story has alł the feels as ever so slightly estranged husband and wife Jamie McKendrick and Kat Valentine rediscover the love that brought them together in the first place. Add in a kilt here and there, some cowboy boots and the gorgeous Montana countryside and The Scot’s Montana Bride appeals on any number of levels.
I absolutely adored Jamie - capable on so many levels both as a businessman and as a cowboy, and so determined to prove to Kat that they belonged together. With the p

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed the story, it had lots of different twists. We meet Kat Valentine who has returned to her family’s ranch after her grandfather suffers a heart attack. Kat had been traveling the world and met Jamie McKendrick also working in Australia and then New Zealand. They had a holiday Romance and then Kat wound up pregnant. They married and moved to Jamie’s family castle home in Scotland. Jamie had found out that he was ...more

The Scot's Montana Bride by Jessica Gilmore has secrets, family disappointments and two star-crossed lovers who have insecurities and different backgrounds. It will take more than instant attraction and superficial love for James McKendrick and Kat Valentine to keep their marriage intact.

I really liked the new life that this book brings to the Marietta stories. It seems like a book has been written about everyone who lives in this fictional town, so I loved the direction that this story took. T

This was a great book and I so thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were wonderful. As this was an ARC, there were a few typos that I hope were caught before publishing.

This book was written in my favorite dual POV. That really helped here as I felt there was another book(s) with the beginnings of Jamie's and Kat's relationship. But the author did a great job in filling in the reader so I don't feel li

This was a moving and emotional story with chemistry that nearly succumb to heartbreak and outside influences and was destroyed. The characters were well defined with very distinctive personalities...It was easy to imagine both Jamie and Kat together as a couple with Jamie’s proud heritage and lilting brogue, and Kat with her fierce spirit.

I truly hope that Ms Gilmore has plans for a series involving the Valentine family...I’d be first in line to read the stories.

The Scot’s Montana Bride is and enduring story of determination and of love.
Can the hasty marriage of two people of seemingly polar lifestyles really work out? Throw grief, isolation and insecurity into the mix and for Kat Valentine and Jamie McKendrick, it spells the end. Maybe. Jamie may have a home in Scotland but his heart’s home is with Kat, wherever she is. He is determined to face his part in her departure from his homeland and help her to see, to feel, and to know his home is wherever sh

Kat and Jamie got married after a whirlwind romance while Kat was in Scotland. Then a couple of not so great things happen and instead of leaning on each other the drift apart. Kat returns to her family's ranch in Montana. Jamie shows up in Montana looking for his bride. Can a love found so quickly be saved? Can Jamie find a way to win back Kat's heart? Sometimes to really get a second chance you have to risk it all. What is there not to like in this story line? There is a Scotsman, a kilt and a ...more

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This book was such an emotional story as Kat left her husband and went back home. When weeks later Jamie shows up, he surprises Kat.

They finally spend most of their time together getting to understand each other as the reason behind their past actions.

It was intriguing to see their long, path to recovering their love and learning to communicate better!

Hope that we see more of this family!!

Kilted Cowboy.
I enjoyed this story of two worlds colliding. A relationship is never going to be easy when two people have deeply seated roots in different countries, add in a tragedy and insecurity and love needs to be strong to survive.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

After learning to read aged just two, Jessica spent every childhood party hiding in bedrooms in case the birthday girl had a book or two she hadn’t read yet. Discovering Mills and Boon on a family holiday Jessica realised that romance writing was her true vocation and proceeded to spend her maths lessons practising her art, creating Dynasty inspired series starring herself and Morton Harket’s chee ...more
