Is she strong enough to fulfill her legacy or will the dark side prevail?
After the gruesome battle on Xzanthar, General Arantu is on a mission to seek retribution, and he has Earth in his sights. Alinthia and her protectors ally with the government to shield innocent humans from attack, but that’s not their only concern.
As her eighteenth birthday approaches, Alinthia’s awakening draws closer, and no one knows what to expect. Internalizing her fear of the darkness that threatens to consume her, she pushes herself to the breaking point to master complete control over her powers.
But she’s still terrified of the unknown.
Working from the secret society’s hidden base in the Valley of the Queens, Alinthia attempts to forge partnerships with alien allies in preparation for the ultimate battle. However, emotions are running high, distrust is rampant, and loyalty is hard-won.
Dane continues to push Alinthia away, causing additional friction and uncertainty when they can't afford to be divided. Determined to avoid confronting what happened on Xzanthar, he throws himself into his duties, butting heads with key players as he struggles to adjust to the new power dynamic.
Presenting a united front has never been more important, but when Alinthia’s birthday arrives, will the bond with her protectors be enough to save her from the dark side? Or are they all doomed to fail?

Series: Alinthia - Book 4 Publication Date: June 30, 2019 Publisher: Siobhan Davis Genre: New Adult Reverse Harem Fantasy Print Length: 188 pages Available from: Amazon For Reviews, Giveaways, Fabulous Book News, follow: http://tometender.blogspot.com
Siobhan Davis continues her sci-fi new adult romance Alinthia series with The Chosen One, where Alinthia must yet again face the thread of the unstoppable General Arantu now threatening Earth.
Rescuing her protectors from the clutches of Arantu was a well won battle, but she hasn’t won the war. Alinthia must first go through her awakening on her 18th birth and while preparing for something no one knows much about she must also help her protectors heal from the trauma suffered at the hands of Arantu and his evil daughter. While Maddox, Coop and Beckett get closer to Alinthia emotional and physically, Dante is pricklier than ever pushing her away inserting division where there should be unity.
While in the previous books in the series kept the reader on the edge of their seat because of the nonstop excitement, in The Chose One Davis focuses on the relationships between Alithia and her protectors keeping reading fanning themselves with all smoking hot sexy times and clutching their hearts with the angst and drama with one particularly stubborn male. That’s not to say there’s no excitement going on, on the contrary. General Arantu keeps causing The Chosen One trouble pushing her to seek out alliances on and out of world.
The Chosen One is book #4 of the Alinthia series by Siobhan Davis. It is a new adult, sci-fi reverse harem romance. Told from various points of view with a cliffhanger.
* I was given an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. *
An emotionally charged battle is being fought against the enemy, as well as amongst themselves. Alinthia’s bond with three of her four protectors has grown strong, yet her relationship with Dane is at its breaking point.
Alinthia’s powers have grown and she is being looked upon as a leader. Protecting Earth is her priority, but everyone else wants to keep her safe. General Arantu is determined to exact his revenge and will do whatever is necessary to acquire her power.
Some threats will be removed, but the only way to obtain peace is to permanently eliminate the General. Alinthia will finally unlock the key to her destiny but the challenge she will face will be formidable.
Her mission is clear, but time is not on her side. She still must wait to come into her full power. However, no matter how much she trains, she can never reach her full potential until her bond with all four protectors has been solidified. Dane has proven to be stubborn and Alinthia will have to break down his walls to strengthen their bond.
This story was emotional. Alinthia struggled with Dane’s rejection, while he was weighed down by abuse he endured in captivity. Maddox, Beck and Cooper will fill the void and give her the love she craves. It’s going to get HOTTTT! I enjoyed watching their relationships grow and become her source of comfort and strength. I am ready to find out where the conclusion will take us. However, I dread the end because I don’t want to let these characters go.
This is a binge-worthy series that will keep you wanting more.
This is one of those times where an author shows you her full skills and leaves you with your mouth hanging open through the whole book.
Ive been waiting for this book for what seems like years and it was not a disappointment. I found myself wanting to laugh, cry, break down, and smile right along with them. I was cheering them on when they were coming out of their comfort zones and wanting to punch others when they were being stubborn beyond belief. Through all of it, we were rewarded in the end as well as left panting needing to know what happens next.
There was so much that happens in this book but while there wasnt as much action out in the universe there was a lot of character building and suspense because you know it will all be coming to a head in the next book. You get to follow the process while biting your nails not know what is going to happen next.
The relationships in this book have gone to a whole new level and i was envious of alinthia wishing i was in her place. The guys are all so different yet together they are amazing and make it hard to not want to be with all of them. Beckett has my heart, but I love them all.
I cant wait to follow them in the final book even though I will be sad it will be coming to an end. I know this is a series i will be rereading for the rest of my life.
Alinthia’s awakening, her 18th birthday is quickly approaching, General Arantu is threatening the Earth, there is still the threat of the unknown Darkness, and while Alinthia has her guys back, Dane is still keeping her at a distance. The bond is strained at a time that Alinthia and her protectors can least afford. They must find a way to come together as one or all will be lost.
The Chosen One is the most important book of the series to me. Yes, we learn more about the prophecy, everyone's powers are increasing, the looming threat of General Arantu is still there, there's the mystery of the darkness, and the sci-fi aspect goes up a notch but it's ALL ABOUT THE BONDS. The relationships with three of her protectors deepen significantly. Cooper makes it clear that nothing is more important than his Alinthia and that he is willing to put himself second to her needs. Maddox is as steadfast, loving, and strong as you could ever want a man to be along with having a wicked sense of humor. Beckett is so beyond adorable in this book, he's priceless. His complete devotion and adoration of Alinthia leave me speechless. Imagine a guy who waits for you, then studies you to see how to best please you, then dedicates himself totally to you. It's almost intimidating but then his natural sweetness makes it perfect. Gone is the shy, reserved Beckett. This confident, smart, loving Beckett is seriously sexy. Then there's my poor broken Dane. My frustrating, angry, confused, mean, scared Dane. He broke my heart every time he broke Alinthia's heart, every time he broke his own heart. He gutted me. There's no quick fix for Dane and for Dane and Alinthia but at least now there is hope. And Alithia herself has proven that these guys mean the world to her. She may be the savior of the galaxy but it's only worth saving if she has her guys by her side. The bonds may not be perfectly solid yet, but this book went quite a way in the right direction. I'm ready for the Awakening now!
The Chosen One is the 4th book in Siobhan's Alinthia series and must be read after books 1 thru 3.
Siobhan has definitely made me a fan of two genres that I did not read til starting this series last year - reverse harem and sci-fi and she has combined both of those into this series.
The previous three books have definitely had the perfect blend of the romance, getting to know each of the characters along with the sci-fi aspect and Alinthia/Tori's purpose, to destroy General Arantu and save Earth. This book definitely delved more into the relationships between Alinthia and her four protectors and strengthening that bond.
I have to say, when I noticed this leaning more towards the romance aspect and not so much the sci-fi aspect, I thought I would be slightly let down. But not surprisingly, Siobhan was able to make the relationships between each of her four protectors just as enticing as the sic-fi part. But I think part of that driving force is that things aren't all rainbows and unicorns with one of her protectors. And the bond between all four of her protectors is a key element in saving Earth.
Siobhan truly knows how to deliver each piece of this very enticing story perfectly. I love that she keeps her readers engrossed in every aspect of this story. The characters are very well written and intricate to the storyline - everything about them just adds another element to the story.
I cannot wait to see what happens in the final installment in this series.
AHH finally- their love, their bonds are becoming fully realized. After surviving what they have, having faced betrayal and lost and doubt and separation, these characters can finally start to figure out how to stop fighting each other, stop holding back, and face the enemy together. Alinthia wants to be the leader she’s looked at to be- to safe earth and defeat evil, but her men just want to protect her. General Arantu is unrelenting, and desperate. And the only way forward is to stop him once and for all. And to do that, this group has to be unbreakable, and Alinthia has to embody her destiny.
DANE- oh DANE. The walls must come down. All the feels in this story- so much emotional discovery and ups and downs. I forget how young our valiant heroine is- barely an adult, with the world on her shoulders. The dynamics of this book are perhaps my favorite yet- we have quiet intimacy, tender and sincere, humor, and then the epic stakes of the page turning action and deadly threats. While the action has me on the edge of my seat for the upcoming finale, what I love most are the hesitant but significant bonds between these characters. It’s hard enough being a teen and understanding emotions, yet alone being Chosen and in a relationship with complicated men in an otherworldly battle.
The final book can not get here fast enough- i know the finale is going to be epic, heart-wrenching, and emotional- but I have no doubt, Alinthia will find a way once she unlocks her full self and with the strength of the bonds she has with her protectors.
I love this series so much. It's the first in this particular trope that I've read and I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I was proven wrong.
I've really come to be invested in the lives of Alinthia and her protectors. I've been as eager as other readers to finally see a breakthrough in her relationship with Dane. I know we're not there yet, but I was happy to see a start to that happening. I also love seeing the relationships with the others progressing.
I'm a little cautious of Glennev still. I'm not sure why, but I get an inky feeling about him and I'm not sure if I trust that he's got Alinthia's best interests at heart. I hope that the guys have their eyes open about him.
I love that we got to see Alinthia's friends from Earth again, even Jensen being a part of the story was fantastic. I love that she loves so hard and so true that she keeps all these people in her life no matter how chaotic it becomes.
As any true fan of Siobhan Davis knows, she is the Queen of the Cliffhanger! So be prepared for that, because this book is no different. I absolutely can not wait for the next installment, which I believe will be the last. I am very eager to see how it all plays out!
*I was blessed with an advanced copy of this book which I voluntarily reviewed.*
If you’ve been following this series, then you know that Alinthia and her 4 protectors (Dane, Maddox, Beckett and Cooper) were brought together as babies and bonded with magic. Then then were ripped apart from each other and grew up the 4 protectors separated from Alinthia. They were taught of the prophecy that centered around Alinthia and her protectors, that their bond was important in helping her be the savior of the universe. But Alinthia grew up on earth with her memory wiped, not knowing of her protectors, their bond, or the prophecy.
Now that Alinthia is reunited with her protectors and the bond growing and her powers getting stronger, they run across some pretty traumatic things that happen to them. Now as a result of that some of the protectors’ bond with Alinthia is growing stronger, but some is growing non existent. My heart cries for suffering that goes on and i worry, because if they don’t repair the bond then Alinthia won’t be able to defeat General Arantu (the threat to the universe).
In this book, The Chosen One, things get really hot & steamy between Alinthia and her protectors. Except for one, where things are pretty cold & distant. Can Alinthia keep her protectors close and strengthen her bond? My heart was aching so much for all the hurting & pain. I had tears sliding down my face. But she has her other protectors who tell her they love and cherish her all the time. They’re so sweet and so loving. When General Arantu‘s men attack earth Alinthia takes them out. But Alinthia has nightmares where some creature is trying to kill her and it’s like what happens in her nightmares really happens, so she becomes afraid to sleep.
This book touches on the paranormal/sci-fi aspect, but i think it focused more on their relationships as the Chosen One and her Protectors. Their bond is important, and we see how the three of them have opened up to it and become so much closer to Alinthia. But we also see that link that is fragile, that is breaking and needs help and isn’t accepting it. This book was so important in bringing us to the final book. I loved it. Those complex characters were written so well, not just their dialogue and their thoughts, but their actions as well. I’m really looking forward to the last book!! Very Highly Recommended!!
Tori just got her guys back, but it is not like she has a chance to just sit back and enjoy her free time. Instead, the universe is on the brink of war, her powers are still uncertain, her lineage and the prophecy are still in doubt, and she is experiencing issues in her own group. There is so much for a 17 year old girl to handle- even if she is the prophesied queen on a powerful alien species...
Keep in mind that this is book 4 in a continuous series that build on the actions of the previous book. I highly recommend reading them all in order so the story makes sense- otherwise you will be missing a lot of plot!
There was less action in this story than the last one, but I think that was made up for by tons of steamy sex! I have always been a fan of Coop and Maddox, but this installment has changed my mind about brainy, shy Beck- there can definitely be something said for the quiet ones who pay attention. So yep, any way, The Chosen One made up for the lost quality time in the last book where the group was split up and now that Tori is comfortable with herself and her feelings, she was not holding her body back from sexy time. Can I mention here that I appreciate the level of heat Siobhan uses in the book, making the scenes hot but not over the top descriptive or too long that I feel awkward reading it or like I need to skim over anything.
Ok, I know that I am probably not suppose to feel this way, but I really do not like Dane. I understand he has been through some awful things and I feel bad for him and know that he needs help to potentially overcome his trauma. Sure, all that is fine. BUT I still do not like him or how he treats Tori. There is no excuse for his actions at this point, and to be honest he treated Tori just the same way before he underwent the abuse so this is not really a new behavior and I am over him. He has been condescending, judgmental and irritable to Tori from the get go, making her doubt her place with the brothers and her skills and he has always rubbed me the wrong way. I agree with Coop and I will hold a grudge against Dane at least until the end of the series (aka one more book). Ok, tangent over.
I feel like the Chosen One was the perfect transition book in the series, giving the characters a few minutes to catch their breath while the underlying tensions for the battle are brewing. I love all the character growth that Tori has undergone over the last few books, turning from a naive uncertain girl to this capable, confident warrior. She is now the badass the world needs to save the day, the guys are just arm candy! I can't wait to see what the final book will bring, how the ultimate battle will play out- and I am also worried about the fate of the characters I have grown to love.
I absolutely love this series!! I am a huge fan of Sobian Davis, and this series just goes to show how great of an author she is. She has a way of creating this world, one that drags you into it, like you are living it with the characters.
In The Chosen One we have so much going on with Alinthia and her guys. The group is back on earth. But there is so much left to deal with. For instance the guys needing time and Alinthia to recover, there is one having more of a hard time of it. But this has driven Alinthia, Beck, Coop, and Maddox closer together. Dane is having more a hard time with it. And let me tell you, the sexy times, whew are hot!!!!
Alinthia is also having to understand the true prophecy, trying to deal with war for earth. She has her hands full, but she steps up to the job. I really like the growth and bond from all the characters from book one to now. There is alot for them to overcome if they are going to win.
Overall, The Chosen One is a great addition to this series and i cannot wait for book 5.
The Chosen One is Book 4, and the penultimate book, of the Alinthia series told in multiple POV, but mostly from Alinthia/Tori herself. This is NOT a stand-alone, the story picks up where Book 3 left off, so you have to read the previous books (and I highly recommend them) before this one. Also, if it’s been awhile since you have, you might want to do a re-read to refresh your memory - I wish I had because it took me a couple chapters to get previous events straight in my head again. That being said....
I love Siobhan Davis. She is a brilliant writer. I picked up this series after reading her other books - I don’t normally even read this genre (sci-fi) but she weaves a story so well that you can’t help but get sucked in! She’s a master storyteller which is evident when you feel the emotions right along with the characters. And, oh, all the feels that Dane, Coop, Maddox, Beck and Alinthia will have you feeling - angst, joy, heartbreak, heat and love in abundance. Don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t be going into the plot or where we might be headed. Just know that these 5 bonded souls have their toughest battles ahead of them (and plenty of sexy times, I’m sure) and I just know (ok, I hope) that it will be the strength of that bond that can see them through. If you haven’t started this series yet - DO IT NOW! And if you’ve been patiently (or impatiently) waiting for The Chosen One - I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed! Now we just have to wait one more time for the last book to see how it all turns out!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is the fourth book in the Alinthia series and just as addictive as the others! Great character development and changes in group dynamics! Lets start positive! Beck! Oh my goodness! As his confidence builds and his flirty side comes out I just want to squish him! Sexy and smart and definitely seeing a new side to him. Coop has to deal with his jealousies and possessiveness, which I adore that he’s not expected to change, but more given time to work through it with love and support. Dane! You flipping idiot! Why do you have to be such an asshat! My goodness my heart was breaking over and over again in this book! Thank goodness he FINALLY gets his act together because man I was getting seriously angry at him! I just hope it’s not instant forgiveness and like nothing happened! Because that was a lot of bullshit to suddenly “forget”. Maddox is amazing and sexy as ever! But you can definitely see him struggling with the choices Dane is making in the way he treats Alinthia! He’s waking a fine line trying to find the balance between his loyalty to his brotherhood with Dane and his love and protectiveness towards Alinthia, and you can see he’s close to breaking point. An interesting little twist with Glennev there as well. I wonder what the cause was and where it will go from there. Can’t wait for the next book!!!

Wow, what a way to pull the strings holding your heart. Will Tori/Alinthia, be able to get over her feelings of being rejected, betrayed and feeling of self doubt, by Dane? Books 1-3 of the Alinthia's series should be read before The Chosen One, book 4. While the bonds of Alinthia with Cooper, Maddox and Beck have gotten stronger and solid what about Dane? Will their bonds be able to be fixed before the dark side takes over? We won't know the outcome till the final book comes out in 2020. With all that being said, book 4, The Chosen One, is a must read. As always Siobhan Davis, pulls you in. Her writing makes you feel like you are the characters in her book, but then leaves you hanging and waiting for the next book. I won't give anything away, but 2020 is to far away. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
I love sci-fi and paranormal stories, and I love a good hot romance. I’ve long enjoyed Siobhan Davis when it comes to the latter, and in her Alinthia series she has proven that she is a master of romance in the sci-fi / paranormal realm again. The Chosen One (Book 4) continues this series in high style. I love Alinthia (Tori) and her yummies ... err, I mean Protectors. Great hot romance mixed with great sci-fi with paranormal and a super plot (gotta destroy General Arantu and save Earth) filled with great characters. I’m sooo there. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Wow! It feels like I've been waiting forever for this book but let me just say that it totally worth the wait. I've 100% fell in love with these characters. I love how Beck come out of his shell in book 4. The tension between Dane and Alinthia is unbearable. My heart breaks for Dane but I'm looking forward to seeing them grown in the next book. I would really recommend this book you wont be disappointed. Siobhan sucks you in with her writing skills. I felt really excited reading this book I just couldn't put it down. Roll on 2020 for the next instalment. I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Wow 😲 I love this book 📖 so much it’s better than the last one and that’s brilliant also 😊👍🏻 those boys/men/aliens yummy 😋 yes please 🤪 Alinthia is one lucky lady alien 👽 to have four gorgeous males .... This book 📖 held me captive , I was hooked and ready to get lost in the world 🌍 of the chosen one Alinthia and watch the story unravel in my head as they kick butts and try to win against the wicked aliens trying to destroy the world 🌍 and all the planets to control the universe 😲 the only one to stop it is the chosen one and her men ......can she do it ? Well you just have to read and see 😊 ohh 😯 and that ending made me cry 😭 I have high hopes 😉
I really love this series. War is coming, and it's up to Alinthia to convince other planets to ally with her against the big bad, General Arantu, in order to keep Earth safe. Still coming to terms with who she is and her role in saving the galaxy, Alinthia must also contend with Dane's increasing hostility towards her. The girl has a lot on her plate. Fortunately, Coop, Beck and Maddox are there to support her. And those three are everything in this book. Wow. I'm so excited to see how everything will wrap up in the next book, and I already know this is a series I will binge read over and over again.
***I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.***
Once again Alinthia and her guys go through all kinds of stuff leading up to her full powers awakening. Can she convince many other aliens held by the U.S. Government that she's in fact The Chosen one in order to work together and beat their United enemy? As if fighting that foe wasn't enough, a new mysterious red eyed enemy traps and taunts her in her dreamscapes. Who is this mystery person? Things aren't the same within her group after reaching them, and Tori worries she might not be enough to save everyone. After all how can one almost eighteen year old female raised believing ages human save the universe? This book is obviously showing the hardships Tori as the guys must endure to form a closer unit readying themselves for her true powers to arrive. Based on title alone, I can't wait for the next book where I'm guessing everything comes to a head. As usual this book showcases an amazingly strong, beautiful young lady who fights with all that's within her for those dear to her. Who else would we want fighting for our world!! Expect LOTS of suspense, intrigue, secrets revealed and some hunky alien time 😉. This book is a really fun read and leaves you wanting the next in this series out soon!
This 4th installment of Alinthia is brimming with emotions and tensions. After Alinthia was able to rescue the boys from captivity they are strategizing their next plan of action against Arantu . Tori’s character has profoundly evolved from the naïve teenager to the bad ass lady and rightful heir to the throne. She has displayed her ability to adopt to the changes that is slowly unfolding while retaining her human side of compassion and kindness. Her complex relationship with the boys shows her sexual maturity and emotional stability. While the book is steadily threading on their plan of stopping the villain from further destruction, it feels like there was no concrete resolution and plan of action. The story revolved on her deeper relationship with the boys and her steamy sexual activities with them which is over the top. I adore the 4 guys and was rooting for Dane but of course she loves them all. Hoping the next book will have its conclusion and wish that Jensen will find someone special.
Just when I thought the angst, intrigue and thrill couldn’t be more, Ms. Davis once again proves me wrong. The progress and growth of the MCs is amazing.... well with all except Dane.. The last 30% of the book wrenched ALL THE FEELS from me. I can’t wait for the final book! Is it 2020 yet?
Highly recommend this addictive science fiction romance!
Definitely one of sioban's steamiest books. This starts immediately after book 3 ended. I actually went back and re-read book three. Danes struggles in book 3 continues. The alien stuff continues and felt like the later books of the Seven series. I can t wait until book 5
I love how deep the feelings have grown between Alinthia and the guys. Even the hardship with Dane. I'm happy to see her uniting and freeing others, bridging alliances, and fighting for what's right. The final book will entail a hard road ahead for the crew, but I can't wait to see them become a true team and fight, whether they win or not, as one.
Seriously the best book I've ever read i couldn't put it down, i love this author's books I've read every single one and this one is by far my fav. Can't wait for the last one to come out!
OMG!!! LOVE this series so much!!!!! Can not put it down and just sitting here wishing for the next one. This author does an amazing job and I can never get enough!!! A must read!!
I thought this book was amazing it did everything I hoped it would do and that was answer questions about a lot of the characters especially Dane!! So happy they came to some Agreement and are going to help each other deal along with the other three boys!! Can’t wait for Alinthia to get her full powers and fight Aruntu!! Hopefully there is a happy ending in the last book 😁
