Cain Johnson is a musical prodigy who moved to New Orleans to follow his dreams. As a happy solo act, Cain and his guitar are a local hit and he’s caught the eye of several highly influential musical producers. One evening, he plays a highly requested number and asks a woman from the audience to join him on stage to sing the lyrics.
Tapestry LeBlanc is a gorgeous, curvy songbird with an infectious personality. She is a nurse providing in-home care for the elderly and works her magic in any way she can. Despite her optimistic and upbeat nature, she struggles with her own demons but uses her beautiful voice to express her emotions. After a few drinks, she jumps on stage to join the handsome Cain for an enchanting duet. And then, sparks fly…
In the city of music, magic, and myth, Cain opens up to his feelings for Tapestry, but soon finds himself entangled in some ugly truths that cannot be escaped or denied. The music saved him once; perhaps it can play his heartstrings and bless him twice. No voodoo, magic potions, or special herbs can undo the pain he and Tapestry encounter as they hold on to one another in an unkind world. Will they withstand the storm, or will the torrent of fallen musical notes in their uneven song rip them apart and end abruptly before the second chorus?
Tiana Laveen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved away, and now lives inside of her mind, but her heart is occupied with her husband, two children, and twisted imagination. She enjoys a fulfilling and enriching life that includes writing books, public speaking, drawing, painting, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
Tiana Laveen is a uniquely creative and innovative author whose romance fiction is geared towards those who not only want to temporarily escape from the daily routines of life, but also became pleasantly caught up in the twisted, well developed journeys of her unique characters. Tiana creates a painting with words as she guides her reader into the lives of each and every main character. Her dedication to detail and staying true to her characters is evident in each novel that she writes.
WHEW! Let me just tell you about how much I adored Cain and Tapestry's story. Ms. Laveen took me on a magical carpet ride. 99% of how she described the nuances of Cain's personality resonated with me. You see...I'm a July baby - July 21st to be exact! I have dealt with many highs and lows and continue to navigate through this life with a warm heart. (It's hard to understand if you've never been there at your lowest point.😰) The pure love that Cain feels for Tapestry permeates in the very air every time he says her name.
Like Cain, when you are wrong, I'm definitely gonna speak up. Cain gave some great advice: "Enjoy LIFE!"
This was a great one! Thank you Tiana Laveen! FIYA 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cain Johnson was a sensitive heart that was proned to depression but he fought to not let it take him down. He was a natural empath, feeling other's pains and joys. Tapestry LeBlanc was his muse, his medicine. She calmed him and nurtured him. She was a nurse by profession but a natural nurturer by heart and soul. To Cain, she was ultra feminine, friendly and approachable but she did not take flack from anyone including him and he liked that. She was strong and resilient and put on a brave face in adversity, but she did hurt deep inside. She found that loving Cain was not easy. He was complicated, moody, temperamental and at time withdrawn due to depression, but he loved her with all of his heart and so did she.
I just loved Tapestry's relationship with Mrs. Robertson. That lady was so funny. The things she said came from a place of wisdom even when she had her bad days. Tapestry was the daughter she always wanted and never had with her own twin girls. I just love the way sista girl put those two in their place. They knew they were wrong with how they did their mother. Tapestry did a good job of reminding them of that.
Waiting on this book to drop was worth it. I loved reading about Cain and Tapestry. Being a Louisiana girl from the bayous just 70 miles north of NOLA, I can see Tiana did a lot of research for this book and it paid off into a well plotted storyline. It ran the gambit of many topics from making it in the music industry, elder neglect, depression and different types of prejudice, from racial to weight bias. It was a story well done about a man's struggles with his own demons and to make it in the music industry and finding his lady love, his song bird. I just loved Cain's song "Intuition". He wrote it for Tapestry even though he had not met her yet. Together, they picked roses with thorns to feel the pain and see the beauty at one time. They ate their chocolate cake until sick...but most important, they fell in love and got their HEA. Good job Tiana as always!!
This must be my 15th or more book by Tiana Laveen!! Clearly I love Ms. Laveen’s writing style and of course her beautiful sexy ass imagination! This is the love journey of Cain and Tapestry! Physically these two were opposites he’s tall and white she short and black. However both of them are very talented in the music area both have a beautiful singing voice and have beautiful hearts and sometimes that’s all you really need to overcome all obstacles. Intuition bought these two together. We all have that inner voice that tells us right from wrong however often times we don’t listen to it. Well this is a story about a guy who finally listened to his intuition. This is a beautiful story I know you will like it. Like I did. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤗
So, I didn't think this one could top the last one but it did. I loved Cain. He felt deeply. He loved deeply. He was all heart and he made no apologies for who and how he was. He was imperfectly perfect. Flawed but beautiful because of it. Tapestry was simply devine. She was a breath of fresh air. She was a diamond that he saw and appreciated. Looked over bc of her physical appearance but still all heart and pride and filled with light. In spite of the things people said about her, thought about her. She kept moving forward. Even when she broke down. As a big girl, I cld relate. Pretty face but (fill in the blank). Backward ass compliments. An insult wrapped in fake good intentions. As I read the book, many of the things said too and about Tapestry played like a broken record in my head. Attacked bc of weight when peple wanted to inflict pain and wound. I could relate to Tapestry. This was a sweet, beautiful story. I loved how the BBW got love. How Cain SAW her and saw perfection. Saw beauty. Saw love. How he knew her worth. How he valued her. How he fought for their love - for her. How he showed Tapestry, Tapestry, through his eyes and colored it all love. Damn!!! This was a beautiful story. The best so far. And yeah, I'm a bit bias. Not bc I am a Ms. Laveen fan (bc I am). I'm bias bc when I read about fictional Tapestry, I saw myself. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!! Ready for the next. I HOPE it's LEO. As a lioness, I'm ready to read about the King 😉.
Another awesome book In the Zodiac series. Cain and Tapestry’s love story is beautiful one. It is a tale of a healer with a love of music who meets a musician that is struggling to be healed.
Music is said to soothe the savage beast and Tapestry’s voice washed over Cain’s weary soul like the best aged whiskey. As a man who had been around the music scene and witnessed the good and not so good, Cain knew Tapestry had a real gift. He also knew he had to get to know the pretty song bird better.
There are so many wonderful and real aspects to this book, and the characters are so fleshed out and genuine that you feel as if you know them. Time and time again, Ms. Laveen gives the reader a story that takes you by the heartstrings and won’t let you go until you’re satisfied.
I started with Cancer because I'm one and I've dated one so I wanted to see how the author incorporated this zodiac sign within her discriptive passages.
I enjoyed reading about both the H/h (Cain/Tapestry) even though I felt the overuse of the pet name "baby" was exhausting to read.
I would have like to know more on Tammy, and if Cain's father knew what his children went through at Frieda's hands and/or Pat, Frieda’s ex-husband?
One of my favorite chapters was fourteen, The Woman in the Mirror. It speaks on self-doubt, self-esteem, and having someone love you for you. Overall, this was a quick, ok read for me. It didn't leave fulfilled as I usually am after reading a Tiana Laveen novel.
Tapestry and Cain meet around music. Their mutual love of music is what brought them together. Love is what keeps them together.
These two have chemistry for days. Cain is a musician and Tapestry is a singer and ver compassionate. Like Cain. He’s a little bit of mischief and she balances his highs and lows out with her consistency and heart of gold.
They go through their share of pains with others and together, but in the end they’re strong.
Pros:
Hot couple. Cain loves his woman. Tapestry tells him like it is and doesn’t hold back. Lover quarrels. Story within the story.
Cons:
I wanted more about the story within the story. I won’t give anything away but this book could have been twice as long because the book was just that good.
Cain may be crazy as all get out, but you don't make promises then back out. Especially when that said promise has anything to do with his lady, Tapestry. Cain made a complete a$$ out of Anderson. He deserved it anyway. But he had to get his point out. And he did it well. Music comes from the soul. It shouldn't matter how a person looks or how much a person weighs for music to be heard. Long as a person possess the voice for it, it should be a done deal. Enough said.
Just when I think I’ve seen it all, Tiana Laveen shows me that she’s got more to give! With her sexy, sassy, side splitting humor, this book comes to life! Cain Johnson and Tapestry LeBlanc were destiny waiting to happen. Cain the Creole alpha and Tapestry his Ebony songbird! Each in their own way have great insight and definitely I tune with the feelings of those they love. Cain’s is almost to a fault and Tapestry’s is as selfless as they come. Together they heal, love and make beautiful music together!
Loving the zodiac series by Tiana Laveen, Cain Johnson singer by night and carpenter by day meets Tapestry LeBlanc at the club he was currently singing at when he request volunteers from the audience to sign with him. Her friend points her out, and once Tapestry is on stage and starts to sing Cain has to get to know her better. Loving this character and boy from the bayou personality and in no uncertain terms his protection and care for Tapestry. Mrs. Robinson Tapestry's in-house care patient was endearing and cared a great deal about her.
A Very Good and Sensual Interracial Romantic Comedy
Cancer - Mr. Intuitive: The 12 Signs of Love (The Zodiac Lovers Series Book 7) is a very good and sensual interracial romantic comedy that earned a rating of five stars. Cain met Tapestry when he was play his guitar and singing in a club. I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be inspirational for people with chronic depression. I found the book to be exciting and I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys reading a very good romantic comedy.
How does she make each story and characters different and interesting in a month's time! Just when I think the last couple was my favorite, you give me another one I can't forget. I'm also impressed with the research you do. I was born and raised in New Orleans, and I've read lots of books that don't get the geography or the flavor of it. Tiananmen nailed it.
I enjoy Ms. Laveen's writing and this series in particular. It is a fun take on Zodiac characteristics. I enjoy that characters are humanly flawed but don't go through the typical relationship angst - of breaking up or almost before they get back together - found in most romances. The struggles are real life struggles. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
I Love this book and it's message! It had me laughing out loud and crying! There is definitely a lesson in this book about depression, self esteem and life. My favorite line was about the rose. Pick a rose with the thorns still attached so you can feel pain and see the beauty in life all at the same time! This a must read!
Once again, Ms. Lavern does not disappoint! This story is about Cain and Tapestry. This story hits on sensitive topics; racism, child molestation, chronic depression, death and weight discrimination. All relatable topics her readers will understand.
I loved the character build between the H/h. I also loved how Ms. Laveen brought New Orleans to life through her writing.
Great love story, loved the chemistry between Cain and Tapestry. Many different topics are woven into this tale, depression, race, weight discrimination, aging all handled very well. I loved how they synced through their musical talent. Looking forward to reading more in the series.
Omgoodness! I just loved this book! I laughed a lot. Cain was hilarious and kind and sexy and loving and vulnerable. Tapestry was so sweet and kind and nurturing and beautiful. They met singing and they continued to dying throughout the story. Cain's father and brothers are a whoot as well. Glad I bought this one!
Luv that Cain stood up for Tapestry and what he believed was right. The chemistry between the two was phenomenal. There are few books that I laugh and cry over, this book was one of those. Thanks for sharing your God-given talent with us Tianna Laveen.
I am really enjoying this series. This latest book has great chemistry as well as as wicked humor. I also like the real life issues namely racism, weight issues and depression. I would strongly recommend this series.
The best one of the zodiac signs for me because 1 it's my sign 2 it features New Orleans and surrounding cities that I know being that I live in Louisiana and 3 it was music that brought the couple together.
This is definitely going into my TBRA rotation!! I loved it!! Maybe it's because I'm a ♋, I don't know, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story!! I laughed and and sang along.
