My first novel by Becca Vincenza, and I’m really happy I started with Art of Death. WHAT A BOOK! I could not put this one down after I started reading. I was immersed in the world, captivated by the plot, and loving the characters. Really, you should just go read the book, but I’ll give you a review.

Rowan is the first female Necromancer born in years. I love the twin aspect of this novel. The bond between her and Abel is clear as she battles against the evils who are trying to take her power, w

The Art of Death is Becca Vincenza's first foray into the urban fantasy genre. While she is an established romance and paranormal romance author with quite a few books under her belt, she plunges headfirst into the world of urban fantasy with this offering of a new UF series.

Okay I'm hooked! Enter a world of necromancers, vampires, shifters, and witches as we follow Rowan the week before her 21st birthday. This bday is important as that is when their power will peak but it also means things will go wonky before they do. Rowan breaks the rules when she interacts with a ghost and getting rid of it leads to all kinds of trouble and secrets. Great characters in a fascinating wor

Art of Death is a new adult urban fantasy by author Becca Vincenza, and is the first book in the curse breakers series. Art of Death was a quick, but action packed read that really got me interested in this new series. I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book in the curse breakers series, Secrets of the Dead, which is out now as well. Fans of fast paced, action filled stories will devour Art of Death. This author is no novice when it comes to the paranormal, but with each story, she takes us on a more thrilling adventure through the stories in her mind. This one was especially enticing, and I wasn’t ready for it to end.

Art of Death revolves around a curse on a Necromancer family that has spanned generations in the hopes of one family wiping out another. That is until the first Necromancer female in years is born, and Rowan’s looking forward to her 21st birthday, which she shares with her twin

In her first Urban Fantasy outing, Vincenza knocks it right out of the park with a spellbinding new series that will leave you grasping for more.

As a huge fan of Vincenza, I’ve followed her career since the beginning and can say without a doubt that she’s found her stride, and then some. Each book has built an amazing talent up to where she couldn’t fail with such a talent. Art of Death is no exception. From the very first sentence to the last gripping words, Vincenza keeps you on your toes and

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. What follows is my opinion and mine alone. I was not compensated for this review.

Art of Death is my first book by Becca Vincenza and it was a fun read. This book follows the story of Rowan, a set of fraternal twins who are more special than you can imagine. What's great is the second book is the same timeline only from a different perspective. I really like that concept. It makes the world even more expansive.

To keep with that thread, the worl

Okay, first of all, this book is so much fun! I really enjoy these modern urban fantasy stories that take something mystical and magical and plop them into familiar settings and circumstances. If done right, it makes the story so much more believable and rich. And this story was done very, very right. Of course there are large necromancer families living in Alaska and Seattle! Why not? And werewolves! And vampires! Will-o-the-wisps! Gargoyles! Nymphs!

A very interesting magic setting, focusing mo

WOW!!!!! This book was so AMAZING!!!!! Once I started reading I could not put this book down. With such an original and captivating story I was hooked from the first page and dying to know what was going to happen next.

This story has everything. There is mystery, suspense and drama as well as some great characters with seriously powerful chemistry. With so many twists and turns I was constantly on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who could be trusted and what had happened to Rowan's twi

So there's a feeling when you pick up a book and from the very beginning, you know you're in for it. I don't have a word for it (there probably is one, and if there isn't I may need to create one) but MAN. This book got me. And so much so that I stayed up late to read it and then stayed up LATER to read Abel's perspective in Secrets of the Dead.

Rowan is likeable and feisty. She's impulsive and protective and tough. I like everything about her. Her brother Abel is the steady to her wild and also

I enjoyed this book so much that I read through it in just a couple hours! Art of Death has all the good stuff; Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, Mystery, Betrayal and just enough Romance. This was an amazing start to a new series and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

The bond between Ro and Abel is great, I love that their not just brother and sister, but best friends. It’s the kind of relationship I wish I had with ANY of my siblings! And Rowan and Indie??? WOWZER! That’s all I’m going to say abou

Great start to a new type of series

Rowan is the baby of a large family of Necromancers. Born as a female, she is also one half of the Curse Breakers. So, other than the neighbors in her small hometown, no one is supposed to know she exists. One ghost changes all that, and soon everyone is after them. A best friend from her past is the only one standing in their way.
The series will continue, which is great because I have more questions, and the second book will be from her twin, Abel's, point of

Received as an ARC for my honest review. Art of Death by Becca Vincenza is a fast paced urban fantasy novel that draws the reader in from the very first page. Vampires, werewolves, and mystics, oh my! Vincenza weaves an edge of your seat story around the main character, a necromancer named Rowan. So much character development as the story progresses, and such plot growth. Romance, magic, peril, and of course a curse or two.

So excited to for more books in the series, anxiously awaiting the next!

The relationship of twins, especially of different genders has always fascinated me. Rowan and Abel have a believable sibling interaction, even amid the fantasy world of Necromancers.
The young woman, Rowan is tired of all the rules imposed by her status as a Curse Breaker.
Young, curious and impulsive she sets off a chain reaction of events that endanger the life of her twin Abel.
Necromancers are not the only interesting characters in this page turner book. Fantasy/Paranormal readers are bound

I enjoyed this book enough to want to get the next book & read back to back. The main characters, Rowan, her twin Abel, and Indigo, are fabulous. I really loved the chemistry between Rowan and Indigo, I could really feel the simmer between them. The story pulled me in pretty quickly, & held my attention. The flow was fast, the book ended way too quickly for me (not because it was short). I really liked that it keeps you guessing in this story, trying to figu

Wow. Just. Wow. I read this book in one sitting. Spent my Sunday propped in bed devouring the story. Yes, it is that good. I am a huge fan of Becca Vincenza's work. Seriously, she could write ingredients on a cereal box and I would read it.

Art of Death is a paranormal, urban fantasy, mystery, filled with secrets, betrayal and a smidge of romance all rolled into a fantatstic new series. I was enthralled from page one. As secrets are revealed the mystery grows as to who is after the twins Rowan an

What a wonderful start to a new series. There are so many twists and turns that answered some questions but created so many more. Can't wait to start the next installment.

DNF at 55% - it’s just not for me this one - I can’t comprehend some of the decisions Roman makes... they just seem so stupid (sorry; I can see I’m in the minority with this view but it’s honest to me)

What wouldn't you do to get your twin back

Loving this new series already the story pulled me and held me from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next book in the series to learn about the next chapter in Rowan and Abels life.

What a wonderful gripping book. I loved it from the very first chapter. It has so many twists and turns but I think that is what makes it such a great book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Great work Becca.
