I might’ve ruined any chance I ever had at a meaningful relationship when I decided to become a male prostitute at eighteen, but that was okay.

I paid off my mom’s debt, the rent, my sister’s hospital bills. I put food on the table and kept eviction notices at bay.

It was worth it.

But that was okay.

Two years later, this job has begun to kill me in every way but physically, until SHE comes along.

Wow...this was a much harder read than I expected. The first book in this series, made me angry but that's nothing compared to how pissed off this one made me feel. It's a good thing I knew how it was gonna end, otherwise, I might have thrown in the towel... I felt so sorry for Mason...

3,5 - 4 stars... Full review to come...sometime ;)

The Price of Mason
Mason's POV from Price of a Kiss

Finally we get to have Mason's POV. Mason & Reese is one of my favorite couples in the series. Its just that I probably expected too much from this book. I was really hoping that we get to have something new from Mason's perspective and those times that he was not with Reese will be featured as well. All in all it was really nice having Mason's POV. After reading all the books in the series it felt like a full circle especially with the e

For some reason I thought this book was an extended epilogue for the entire series( apparently I didn't read the blurb) so I was surprised to basically read book 1 through Mason's eyes which wasn't what I wanted or expected

*I did not read book 1
*I actually admired Mason, he was willing to do anything to provide for his family especially his sister who he clearly loved. He didn't enjoy the job but he knew he had to get it done
*As much as I admire him I didn't quite like Mason howeve

I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and excerpt can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

Back in 2014 I had just started discovering my way through Goodreads and the NA oriented books. Now the site kept recommending to me "Price of a Kiss" by Linda Kage and finally, I bought it.
And then I fell in love.

For four years I have been a fan of this series with its heartfelt messages, amazing, funny, emotional characters and lots of humorous scenes. Seeing that the book centers aroun

The story of Mason :
I remember vaguely the first book but i know it had a huge impact on me. So when i started this book i had a hard time assimiling this Mason with the one i remembered... the voice felt a bit wrong... and some of the things happening confused me because i could swear that's not what i actually remembered. So yeah it was hard getting into the story and what Mason went through made me very uneasy and really sad and angr

Obviously my stalking skills need some work because somehow Linda managed to publish this book without me obsessing over it for the 3 months leading up to it. And that almost feels like I received an unexpected gift. I opened up GoodReads one day and there it was.

So naturally I one clicked it but between kids and birthdays and Christmas it took me way too long to get to read it. I also was maybe a little unsure if I could handle it. Getting a whole book from the alternate POV is super hit and m

I'm sorry Linda but once again Mason and Reese's story were really boring.

Minor spoilers...Nothing new if you read
the original story

I read the original story back in 2013 when it first
came out and I really liked it. I must say though, it
was one of the first new adult books I read, so it
was really new and full of just the right amount of
angst I can tolerate. With that being said, I think
my perception of the story was clouded by the fact
that I was buying cheap kindle books and devouring
them nonstop. Maybe if I reread the story today it
would change the way I see it.

4-4.5 stars. Mason and Reese are who started the series and now they are the end of the series. They are one of my favorite couples, too. It was fun to relive the time when they met through Mason's perspective. And wow, Mason sure had a lot that he hid from Reese. But I still loved how he took care of his sister. He tried to do the right thing and sometimes it backfired because he was between a rock and a hard place so I empathized with him. Thankfully I know how it all ends already and that Mas ...more

It feels like I have been waiting FOREVER for Mason's side of the story (five long years to be exact, but who's counting anyways because there have been some incredible stories in-between), so it only seems fitting that his and Reese's story would both begin and end the Forbidden Men series. In Price of a Kiss, we got her side of the story and in The Price of Mason we finally got his! I have to say that it was really interesting to see some of my

He is the man who made me fall in love with him in Price of a kiss, I never thought I could love him even more. I am a huge fan Forbidden Men series.
This book is a full on emotional rollercoaster. Loved every bit of it. It has its own dark n bright moments. The way he cares for Sarah is heartwarming. Reese is my eternal sunshine the Catch, Mason is my ever loving keeper, they both completed eachother.
It felt fresh even though it is a companion novel,

I really wanted to give only 3 stars because even though I already love Reese and Mason there was a lot wrong with this story which annoyed the hell out of me. But because I've read the book from Reese's POV years ago I was already hooked on their romance and yeah ... So 3 solid stars for The Price of Mason because the writing was excellent as per usual.

And another bonus star for the short stories which are free at the end of both the ebook and the print version and while the stories about Juli

The Price of Mason is a follow up to Price of a Kiss but could definitely be read as a standalone. It is an entire new side to the story by giving us Mason’s POV.

“I was the kind of person that should go nowhere near a sweet, innocent girl like Reese Randall.”

I had already fallen in love with Mason a few years ago when I read Price of a Kiss. But just to be ‘in his head’ really added so much. It felt like a completely new and fresh story.

“I’m not a person to them. I’m just a good time or somet

Linda Kage was one of my favorite authors at one point but I think that I've aged out of the New Adult genre. This was an OK book and LK put effort into adding new story lines into a book we've already read. Unfortunately Mason was off putting at times, with his moping and generally just not getting his act together.
The saving grace of this book was at the end there are fun novella's that show some stories from the next generation. I would have loved just have just read more about that group.

“I was nodding in support of the awesomeness of all Jeep stickers when I heard it. A laugh.”

Mason was the beggining of this series and here are his confessions.
From the very first time, I loved him. All his complexities and sweet and caring heart.
I must say that I was impressed with this book. He really needed to show his side of the story. And even when some scenes were new, when he showed his job, the both of them, his anxieties and worries, his love and care, I need to say that what I loved

I loved hearing things from masons point of view he was so sweet bless him. That been said, this book could have been better. It said the book was going to be told from his point a view but really it was parts of the book. It missed quite a lot out and sometimes felt like it was just skipping ahead to where he was with reese. There was a lot of her story where she wasn’t with him so I exspected the same from mason, for it to tell us other things that happened in his life, it did don’t get me wro ...more

Well, I've wanted this book and this story from the very moment I finished PRICE OF A KISS, the first FORBIDDEN MEN book in this series, so I'm so excited about it I can't wait to get it in my hands.

Mason was the first and my absolutely number one of the FORBIDDEN MEN by Linda Kage and getting that beloved story from his POV is just a dream come true...finally.

I will add details after my reading.

Reading their story through Mason's perspective just proved to me how much Reese is simply all the good and precious in the universe. Let me now ramble about some of the characters first.

I could totally see why Mason felt like he was not worthy of love or care at all when he had been treated like a robot and just not anything a human being should be treated as. I could see more clearly how his circumstances insecurities shaped up and boiled over, causing so many obstacles in his life. I honestly

For Mason's book, I actually really really really like it since the original version is one of my favorite books. But how Mason didn't have sex with his landlady in the book was quite nagged at me. It was like a last minute idea and everything then be forced to be put together because of that plot. Reese knew because of Mason's confrontation with his landlady. Then she said that she wouldn't tell Eva because she had a big row defending him for having sex because of her. But when I checked on the ...more

FYI, I'm writing this review with Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" playing on repeat.

The thought of the Forbidden Men series coming to a close causes an ache in my chest. I'm sure anyone who's read all ten books (or nine, if you haven't had a chance to read this one yet) can say the same. Linda Kage is so skilled at creating characters who are complete and complex and just real, and she did this exceptionally well with the men and women of Forbidden. They've become like brothers, sisters, friends

I hadn’t read books from this series in a while, and it was just as great as I remember. I definitely understand the story a little better (something that happened more easily with the other stories, which are all dual POV).

I had forgotten how no bullshit Reese is, and how satisfying it is to see a character make reasonable choices (or at least choices I would make).

“But I guess she didn’t buy into Eva’s accusations. She retorted, “He’s a human being! He has just as many rights not to be harasse

When I read Price of a Kiss four years ago, I craved insight into what was going on in Mason's mind in my favorite moments. I wanted to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think it is so fitting that the Forbidden Men series starts and ends with Reese and Mason.

After spending 4 years gettings bits and pieces of these characters in different stories, I feel like I am part of the Forbidden Men world. This book made me feel that even more.

I’ve loved this series since I stumbled upon it several years ago and it always is my go to rereads when I’m in between books or in a slump. I had no idea the author was planning on this story but I was so excited when I found out we got to have Mason’s side of things. It totally made me fall in love with him again and I went back to do a side by side read. Linda writes romance fiction from YA to adult, contemporary to fantasy. Most Kage stories lean more toward the lighter, funner side with a couple meaningful moments thrown in that center around love and hope. Focuses more on entertainment value and emotional impact than realism. She likes the drama and crazy, over-the-top plots that make you cry then laugh, get mad then sigh happily.
