Never play a game you can't win.

For Cain Kent, that rule is golden. Losing is not in his vocabulary, and up until now, everything has come easy. Football, school, girls ... his charm-laced ego may just be bigger than Texas itself.

The competition he started freshman year with his friends, to make ten notches each in their bedposts by graduation day, is practically in the ba

"Until Cain Kent. That boy is like venom to my veins, paralyzing and scorching all at the same time. I lock up around him, my throat constricts and the apex of my thighs becomes slick and uncomfortable"

LMAO Oh, such silly and overly poetic prose, words that no woman would ever contemplate let alone ruminate on. Sigh. DNF @22%

I loved this YA football romance! My first book by Carrie Aarons and I absolutely fell in love with her style of writing. This was a sweet, sexy story of first love with just enough high school drama and angst to keep it entertaining.

Cain is that bad boy Harper knows she shouldn't fall for. He is the star quarterback, a god in their small town of Haven, Texas and he certainly doesn't do relationships or commitments. When he seeks out Harper, it starts out as just another conquest for him. So it

I have been a fan of Carrie Aarons since her Privileged series. There is something about the way she writes her mean boys that I love. She gets the Enemies to Lovers chemistry and banter right but it has that something extra to leave its mark on you. This novel was absolutely delicious and I was obsessed with every word!

Gahh!! I seriously LOVED Harper and Cain. The sassy, independent, new girl and the boy who has the world falling at his feet. I loved their banter and the way Harper gave it to C

Carrie Aarons gives readers a really good enemies to lovers NA romance with The Tenth Girl.

Cain and Harper meet in the most unexpected way on her first day at her new school. Things only seem to go from bad to worse from there. But Cain isn't going to let a little something like Harper's dislike of him deter him from pursuing her. He has a bet going with his friends. Get into ten girls pants by graduation. He only has one girl left to bag and he now has his sights set on Harper. But when plotti

It's high school and the head jock also happens to be the school's resident bad boy. He's handsome, he plays football, he and his buddies throw all the greatest ragers, and he has no respect for women. He's Cain Kent and he can get away with anything, even winning the four year, ten women bet he has with his friends. No will hold it against him, except maybe the new girl Harper Posy, the one he sets his sights on to be the final girl.

I flew through this book and loved every page!

The Tenth Girl was one of those YA books that I didn't know I needed. I dove into it when I was really struggling with this ARC I had received. In it, you will meet Cain and Harper. These two were adorable from the beginning and it was so cute to watch the grinch player's heart growing in size.

So Cain stupidly makes a bet with some of the guys on the football team during freshmen year. Or maybe it was before that?? Anyhoo, they all bet to sleep with

"Life is about mistakes. It's how we correct them that matters."

This book can be pretty much summed up by that quote.

The Tenth Girl has the plot of books and movies that I have read before. But it's the characters and the writing that makes me really enjoy this story and Carrie's take on the idea of "boy makes stupid bet, falls in love and possibly loses girl."

Cain is the star quarterback in his senior year, prepping to go to the most best college he can for football. Harper is the new girl

There is something about Carrie Aaron books that keep me reading. The way she writes these characters and tells a story never fails to hook me. However, I am so torn and have so many thoughts on this one.

While I did get some entertainment out reading this one, I have to admit that I did struggle with it. Like for real struggled. Guys, I really did have to power through the beginning here. Lets be honest. If I would have stopped reading, it would have had everything to do with Cain.

Cain is quite the playboy. He is a senior, popular and good looking. His only priorities being football and trying to bag more girls than his buddies. Harper is the new girl in school. She is feisty, mature and smart; always reading and working on her novel. She is also sweet, innocent and a bit of a romantic; saving herself for true love. From the moment I started reading this book, I was totally sucked into their story, anxious to see how it all played out.

The Tenth Girl is a great read, from

High school kids. Not for me in 1st place. The blurb is not appealing AT ALL. Seems like Manwhore Project. And then, this quote 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

After reading alot of small town high school stores I've romanticised them in my head, you know bad boy jock falls for the good girl. If only it had been me.

This story could so easily have turned into cheesy and predictable but it didn't. The thing that saved it was the writing and the characters. I loved Harper and Cain, on paper they shouldn't work but they just do. A story full of teenage angst and emotions which I remember very wel. This author seems to be able to turn her hand to any genre

If you're looking for a young adult book that is light and sweet, this one is perfect! It had been a while since I read YA and this book reminded me how much I enjoyed it.

Cain and Harper pulled me into their orbit real fast and I didn't want to part with them. Cain is presented as this careless jock who only cares about his football career and doesn't have time for girls besides using them and trashing them at his convenience. He and his friends have had this bet going on f

An arrogant bad boy? Huge check. A fun and fascinating story? Check check. And football? I can't think of a more perfect combination and it's all found in The Tenth Girl by Carrie Aarons. This is my first book of hers but most certainly won't be my last. Once I started reading I only set this down a select few times for something necessary and immediately drifted back to continue on. I more than enjoyed getting to know Harper and Cain and wish

Once in awhile I like to revisit the good old days -- believe me it's been a long time ago since I walked the halls in high school. And now my once in "awhiles" are found on the pages of Young Adult books. This one actually was better than the average -- except for that terrible awful horrid game the boys play with the hearts of girls. No excuses made for that! Kudos for the older crowd that played their parts in the secondary cast so well and charming, too. Always good to see the oldies but goo ...more

This was so addicting. I hadn’t read a high school romance in awhile and this one WAS SOO GOOD!

Harper was such a strong headed girl. I love that she was so sweet and kind to others. Cared about her education and wanted to find love, BUT wouldn’t let anyone mess with her. Her whole vibe was just amazing!

Cain was such a jerk. He’s so cocky and entitled, but when we uncover the way he feels about Harper we see another side of him. He’s still cocky and arrogant, but he does have a good hear

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this is the newest standalone story from Carrie Aarons :) I adore her writing style... it's always raw and honest... showing us flawed characters who make mistakes but learn from them... each of her books give me pretty strong opinions about them... I absolutely adore some of them... some of them I like... others I can't finish or the characters in them annoy me to no end... but that's ok, because all that means is that her books are diverse a ...more

This was not one of my favorite books by Carrie Aarons, but it has nothing to do with her writing. It just isn't normal for me to read YA books.

Cain is a jock football player who thinks the world revolves around him and Harper is the new girl in town.

Cain is a dick pretty much the entire book. Not in a good way. I like Alpha Assholes but he was just a little too mean for me. He ran hot and cold and although his lack of relationships was explained, it just felt like a little too much. He annoyed

She may be the Tenth Girl but he is never going to work harder.

The premise of The Tenth Girl is every high school girl's nightmare and yet we gobble these stories up. As a hopeless romantic, it is impossible not to need this story. To need the aches, pains, and heartache because let's be real, there is always heartache!

The Tenth Girl isn't hiding a surprise plot twist and yet you can't help but get caught in "the action". My money is on the new girl, in case you were wondering. This jock has me

I guess I should have read reviews before reading this one. Only reason it got 2 stars instead of 1 was because it wasn't that bad In the beginning but once Harper started to whine a lot and show that she was much younger then I think a senior in high school, that's when it went downhill. ...more

Opposites attract and young love is the key to this story in The Tenth Girl by Carrie Aarons. I must admit, this book wasn’t even on my radar, and then I got a sale notification, and was like hmm.. it sounds interesting, and I one-clicked it, and thought it sounded like a light read, and dived right it, and boy am I glad I grabbed this book! The Tenth Girl is a Mature YA by the very talented, Carrie Aarons. I have had the pleasure of reading most of her books and have enjoyed them all. She always comes up with a unique storyline.

Cain was riding high. He was the star quarterback for his high school team. He already signed a deal with the college of his choice. He had his brothers on the field and girls lined up for him off it. He was entering his senior year at the top of the competition. The one he became a part of during his fresh

4.5 stars - This story might be set in high school but it's too hot to be classed as YA!

"From the moment I saw her, I knew she would be my final mark. If only Harper Posy had been that simple."

Cain Kent is the gorgeous, cocky star quarterback of his high school football team. He could have anyone he wanted without even clicking his fingers. Until he meets his match.

So good! This is high school drama at its finest!

Cain Kent is a jerk! He has it all. He's hot, charming, popular, captain of the football team, and has girls eating out of his hand. He doesn't lose at anything. There's a competition he started in his freshman year with his friends. They each have to get ten notches on their bedposts. This is not a bet Cain will have a problem winning, or will he?

In walks Harper Posy. She seems like the perfect target to help Cain win this competition. Easy peas

The Tenth Girl was a light and sweet love story, the breath of fresh air I didn't know I needed. I have favourite genres to read like we all do but romcoms and YA are not something I immediately head for first but the blurb tweaked my interest. I was intrigued and wasn't disappointed. This was cute and fun whilst portraying the woes of high school, dating and the accuracy of growing up. Yes it was frustrating at times, but that's the fun of it. Of getting immersed, watching the story untold and ...more

Author of romance novels such as Fool Me Twice and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.

When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner.
