Not technically a rom-com but there were some seriously funny moments in this. I laughed several times, shoulder shakes and all.
I also enjoyed this book immensely!!!

The story was pretty interesting but it finished in second place to the characters IMO.
It was good but they were better.

Tatum was a total goofball (hence all the laughs). She really does have good intentions but somehow she always seems to say or do the wrong thing and then everything just seems to snowball from there.

Tatum is broken hearted. After dating her boyfriend for two years, he proposes and she couldn't be happier. However, on her birthday of all days, he back pedals with lame excuses. Unfortunately, he's also her boss and rather than give up all that she's worked for, she decides to tough it out. Who cares that he's hired his new girlfriend? Tater doesn't mind having a front row seat to their romance. Obviously. But she also doesn't want to seem like a loser. So what does she do? Tell a lie. And tha ...more

So this book was an extremely interesting one for me. I’ll admit, I didn’t start off loving the leading couple. Tatum was a sweet, quirky person, but I wanted to shake her a few times for how far she let things go and why. However, it did keep things interesting. Jason on the other hand, I just think his initial thoughts and feelings on relationships rubbed me the wrong way. His refusal to give second chances is a fact we learn about him quickly and something I, as a believer in second chances,

"We were two damaged souls, incapable of a future because we each had a past with the wrong person."

Wow! swoon worthy ending. I loved The half Truth, great book to unwind with. No heavy angst or drama it was just the right kind of book to curl up with and enjoy the characters journey.

What I really love in a book are characters that I can relate to, read and feel like I'm taking part of their journey, laugh with them or at them, swoon at the romance, enjoy the story and finish with a happy sigh.

Fun Story

This was a sweet, funny and entertaining book. Both of the main characters have had their hearts broken by someone they thought loved them. Then a little lie turns things around for them but it may also cause an issue but there are some hot steamy moments you can't miss and the fun banter as well. A really enjoyable book.

I enjoyed this - oh Tatum what a web she weaved! One little white lie and it gathered speed and grew legs! Loved Jason - he took a while to realise what he had and what he wanted but got there in the end. There was humour, some angst and family drama.

I'm not sure how exactly I've never heard of this new to me author! Her writing style, humor, and witty banter are right up my alley. The characters in this book really make the story work. Tatum is hilarious without meaning to be. Jason is fantastic and has no idea what's hit him when the whirlwind that is Tatum enters his life. Jason's trying to prove to his family that he's put his "player" ways behind him but having Tatum around is making that difficult. Don't miss this laugh out loud funny ...more

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
This was my first book by Leddy Harper, and I really enjoyed her writing style, the story was different than other “fake relationship” plots and I really liked that in the book. Nothing happened as I expected. Jason was my favorite character, and his family too. They were all too funny. Tatum was a good character, but a lot of her lies could have been avoided, and some parts just irritated me. But the ending was cute. If you like the no-strings-attached relations

"I was playing with fire, and if I wasn't careful, I'd end up in flames"

I know, I might sound like a broken record starting my review with: this is one of the books that are not easy for me to rate and review. Although I had my moments with it and a great amount of scenes where I had to laugh out loud, it didn’t change the fact that I had for 1) trouble getting into the story, 2) that at the beginning I couldn’t really connect to the characters until about 50% and 3) that it couldn’t re

I am trying to come up with a few things to write in this review and the only thing that pops in my mind is the word lies over and over again. I was very fed up with all the lies Tatum kept telling to everyone. Up until the end of the book, half of the words coming out of Tatum's mouth are about the lies she kept telling everyone and I couldn't stand it. Jason doesn't find the truth until one of the last chapters and Tatum had everyone believing that he was a horrible person because it was fitti ...more

I normally LOVE the way Leddy Harper leaves me guessing throughout a story with angst and build-up; however, at the 65% mark of this story Tatum and Jason were both driving my crazy with the wishy-washy decisions that they were both making. I loved the sexual chemistry between Tatum and Jason. I enjoyed the fun banter and goofiness of the situations that they both found themselves in so in the end I really did enjoy the overall story even with some of the flaws I have state

Thanks Netgalley.

I’ve read this author before and her stuff is quite emotional omg that my biggest mistake was too much for me. So I guess I wanted to connect with this one too. But it didn’t happen. I ended up skipping thru some parts. Both MC didn’t do it for me. 😐

The Half Truth by Leddy Harper was a great read. I laughed, I swooned, got a little choked up and couldn’t put it down.

We meet Tatum the night of her twenty fifth birthday. She’s looking forward to spending a night surrounded by friends and family. She has everything going right in her life...her fiancé by her side, a job she loves and hopes to get promoted soon, plus a night with everyone who means the world to her. What could go wrong? After a devastating heartbreak, six months later she’s tr

Poor Tatum gets dumped by her fiance on her birthday, what a jerk. She hasn't moved on and she unfortunately works with him and here comes a new sweet cook who also happens to be his new girlfriend. Trying to save face she lies to her coworkers telling them that she is going out with Jason. Jason is Tatum's bestfriends cousin who Kelsey hates or atleast does not think very highly of him. Jason is just coming out of a relationship that he has been in on for 5 years and he also broken hearted but ...more

This is my first time reading this author. I had a hard time getting through this one. I think I was getting irritated with Tatum and all of her lies, it was happening a lot. Sometimes boarding on ridiculous. I did skim some because some parts did drag on for me. I did like the texts between her and Jason, they were cute. But I'm saddened to say that this one was just meh for me.

*Thank you NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the ARC.

I liked the story a lot, it was really cute and funny! At times I just couldn't stop reading it.
The characters were great, they had a lot of chemistry, I rooted for them the whole time. If you like the no strings attached/friends to lovers type of storyline, I recommend this book for you!

Tatum was a mess. And the lies just kept snowballing. Instead of standing up for herself she just let people believe and say whatever they wanted. I would really give it 2.5 stars.

With a blend of forbidden, rom-com and second chances, The (Half) Truth is both sexy and charming.

Tatum Alexander is so awkward it’s adorable. The mess she gets herself into is hilarious. I sometimes cringed and felt bad for her at the situations she put herself into, but she kept me smiling the entire time. She deserves to be happy.

Jason Watson is a sweet guy. He’s starting over and convinced he does not want to date or be in any kind of long term relationship. His actions and concerns toward

I love Leddy Harper, period, end of discussion. I thought this book was a little different that her norm, I still loved it. This is a character driven story that had me totally in love with Jason and wanting to bop Tatum right on the head a couple times. Tatum is quirky as all get out and Jason was just the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to men in a story. He wasn't too good to be true, he was real.
Which made me love him all the more. Tatum is a chef and her fiancé owns the restaura

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately I wasn't too fond of this novel. The
Tatum and Jason's connection was lukewarm at best and their interactions was immature. She just gets dumbed by her fiance who she desperately wants back but as soon as she meets Jason it's all forgotten. Then she's kind of cold to him but has to pretend she likes him because she lied to her friends that he was her boyfriend. The writing had no depth and I felt it describe

Sadly, this book did not work for me. I liked the last few book by this author. I have enjoyed most of them. This one I struggled to even finished. I wished it was more comical and a little more mature.

How can I talk about this author without sounding like a broken record? I can't say anything new so I'll say only this. She's amazing and everyone should read her books.
Leddy Harper has been a constant in my reading life and she's responsible for the biggest ugly cry I had while reading a book. Her writing is beautiful, intense and sweet but with some steamy stuff into the mix.

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a
