Marco's MMA Boys #6

Sergio's Redemption

Rate this book
Life has a funny way of pushing us beyond what is mentally possible.

Paige
I was born to parents who never cared if I had food or clothes. I was nothing. A waste of space and time to them.
At sixteen, they relocated…and didn’t bother to tell me.
I lived in my busted up and broken-down car behind a gym for months when two men found me.
One of them I believed was my savior, the love of my life. Turns out things aren’t always what they seem. He was the devil in disguise.
A few thousand bad decisions later, I find myself in the very same parking lot where I found the devil and the man who supported me through it all.
I’m Paige Turner. I’m a mess of a woman with nothing but hard times in my past and a future that’s completely uncertain.

Sergio
I had a life once. I had a wife and a baby on the way. My life was everything I never knew I wanted.
I was halfway around the world, defending my country, serving the United States proudly, when I lost absolutely everything that mattered.
I couldn’t save them. I couldn’t even fight for them.
I went through the stages of grief and I’ve come out on the other side a different man.
Now, I fight.
Literally.
There is something therapeutic about beating someone or even yourself. I can control the pain, unlike my life.
I’m Sergio Nichols. When my family was taken, I’ve somehow learned to function in a new dysfunctional family of their own making.

Two broken people with one chance at redemption.

S.M. Donaldson is a born and raised Southern girl. She grew up in a small rural town on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the kind of place where everyone knows your business before you do, especially when your Daddy is a cop and your Mom works for the school system. She married one of her best friends at the age of 20 and has two sons. She is a proud military wife, has always had a soft spot for a good story, and is known to have a potty mouth. At the age of 31, she decided there was no time like the present to attempt her first book. Sam’s Choice was born and she hasn’t stopped since. If you are looking for a good, steamy, Southern set romance with true Southern dialect, she’s your girl.

Sergio’s Redemption is another hit for the Marco’s Boys series!! Sergio has had a tough past and lived through things no one would want to go through. Paige is an innocent girl who unfortunately experienced things no woman should ever have to go through. When the two of them meet, you can tell Paige is very timid. She eventually comes around and things heat up between the two of them. Her past comes back to haunt her but Sergio steps up to protect her. He is very alpha and sexy as sin! I throughly enjoyed their story. I am also happy that the other boys and their families make appearances!

Another hit in this series! Sergio's Redemption was sexy, deep, emotional, intense at times, and such an amazing story. The punches started at page one and didn't stop until they stopped turning.

Marco's MMA Boys is one series you don't want to miss. Paige and Sergio gave everything! Swoony guys. Sexy stories. Relatable journeys. Unforgettable moments.

I highly recommend this book.

This latest addition to Marco's MMA Boys was a great read. That grabbed me from the start, as it was sweet, sexy, emotional and, very absorbing. And I loved the development of the friendship and romance between Sergio and Paige, who've both been through so much and yet find each other and become stronger for it, and that really was lovely to read. As was catching up with all my favourite characters in this series, including Lox, Sly and Huck; and I would happily recommend it to others.

I received an ARC of S.M. Donaldson's Sergio's Redemption in return for my honest review.

While this book is #6 in the series it can easily be a standalone read. Donaldson does a wonderful job lightly reviewing key details. This allows someone who is not familiar with the series to enjoy this book as a stand alone, but also gives a quick key review for those of us who have read the series and merely need a reminder to keep it all fresh in our minds.

I have read all the books in this series, and highly recommend them all. They may all be read as a stand alone, but you can not truly appreciate the series unless it is read as a whole.

This book is very hard to review without spoilers, so please forgive me as I try to give it a fair review, but still dance around key details.

Paige and Sergio are not new to the series. With out an spoilers, they have both held sort of "villain" roles. They are people who are easily disliked, or so I thought.

Sergio's previous novella (book 5.5) gives us a much deeper insight into the dark world that is Sergio. You quickly realize maybe he is not the "bad guy" after all. In this book you get a much deeper insight into what make Paige, Paige. She is not what you expect and the struggles she has faced is unimaginable.

As mentioned both of these characters have very dark, troubled pasts. Fate seems to keep bringing them together and eventually together they are forced to face their pasts and overcome their downfalls. Will the constant cosmic force that keeps drawing them together be enough to help them more forward with their lives? Or will they be doomed to relive the past forever?

This is a very good book. As is all of Ms. Donaldson's work. The characters are relatable and you find yourself easily drawn to them. A lot of emotions are explored in this book while I feel keep you on the edge of your seat desiring to know what will happen next.

As a fan of the series, I love that I also get a deeper insight into the future lives of the characters (and couples) that I have already grown to know and love. Don't worry, they have not changed. They are still all a misfit group of goof balls.

I highly recommend Sergio's Redemption as well as the entire Marco's MMA Boys series. Thank you SM Donaldson for another great story. I can't wait to read more by you in the future.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, anger, secrets, abuse, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Letting Lox In (Marco's MMA Boys #1)
In Sly's Eyes (Marco's MMA Boys, #2)
Holding Huck's Heart (Marco's MMA Boys #3)
Gaining Gibbs: Gaining Gibbs (Marco's MMA Boys #4)
Jacob Exposed: Jacob Exposed Marco's MMA Boys 5 (Marco's MMA Boys #5)

This is Paige and Sergio’s story. Paige has been though a horrible past. When she reaches out for help Marco’s boys are there to help her. Sergio is drawn to Paige as he can see the pain she has in her eyes. He tries to help her out but he has to watch out for himself. After losing everything in his past he is not sure he has it in him for a future. When Paige needs help Sergio steps up but will he really be able to protect her. He has to figure it out as he does not want to hurt her more then she has already been hurt. Can Paige believe in a future with someone after all the pains of her past? Or will one of her past abusers make sure she does not make it to have a future?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

I thought Lox was my favorite and he still kinda might be but Sergio is definitely right there with him. This man has been through so much yet still has a caring heart. He looks out for those he cares about and tries to help. He was brought into Marco's being the competition and eventually becomes family.

I wanted to hug Paige. This girl has had everything stripped from her, not slowly either, its been one thing after another. She got into some deep trouble but managed with the help of Marco and his guys to find her way out. She is hanging on a thread when she first meets Sergio, but who knew that that meeting wouldn't be their last. Who knew that they would help dig each other out of their fox holes.

I loved this story and the heart that was put into it. I loved that these two managed to find love even when it looked to be impossible.

OMG, OMG!!!! I know there is another book left in this series, but after that I'm going to miss these guys tremendously!!! I keep thinking the last characters were my favorites, but Sergio and Paige are it now!!! The way they connected with each other after their messed up lives and falling in love without pressuring each other about their pasts, but recognizing each other's pain, got to me.Another great book by S.M. Donaldson!!! She has become a favorite that hasn't let me down yet. Another must read!!
