Maya Wingfield was raised to trust no one—least of all the dueling U.S. and Russian paranormal agencies, Universe and Night Stars, who’d love to harness her mind-reading gift.

She thought Richmond a safe place to escape their influence and hide from a rising psychic malevolence that drove her out of San Diego. But when she gets yet another call to retrieve her drunken roomm

The Book Junkie Reads . . .
Shifting Auras was something different and alluring all at the same time. It was not different in the fact that there was paranormal/psychic abilities involved. It was the more hidden behind the scenes. Maya and Ian were interesting characters to get to know and follow on their journey of hidden agendas, secret societies, battling agencies, and a sexual tension that would set them both on fire.

Great fantasy romantic suspense. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Shades of X-Men! Here is a brand new steamy romance series featuring mutants. Dueling US and Russian paranormal agencies with a wildcard new agency in the game. I can’t wait for the next book.
Maya who’s been taught never to trust anyone, has to learn trust to survive. And Ian Sanderson, a British kinetic with a shadowed past, must be the one to teach her.Loved the descriptions of Richmond and Washington, D.C.

Shifting Auras is fast paced from the beginning and doesn't let up. It's a bit reminiscent of X-Men with rival government paranormal agencies, lots of secrets, and a new secret agency with our heroine in its sights. Maya and Ian are interesting characters and the sexual tension between them is almost palpable. This is a promising start to the series, and I'll be interested to see where it goes from here.

First book by this author for me

I really enjoyed shifting auras. It is the beginning of the series and did not end on a couple cliffhanger. It looks like the next book will be a different couple in the same universe.

Claire lives in Los Angeles, so many of her stories are set there, too. But she is originally from Brookline, Massachusetts, so that location frequently pops up in her work, too. Claire spends her free time writing, doing animal rescue, and enjoying the sunshine. She specializes in writing romances of all kinds and never shies away from the “between the sheets” elements!
