There Are Two Types Of People Who Believe In Ghosts And Supernatural Spirits. One Are Those Who Believe In Them Blindly As They Are Superstitious By Nature While There Are Others Who Have Actually Had First Hand Encounters And Lived To Tell The Tale.
When They Happen To Be Of The First Kind They Believe The Tales They Are Told And Imagine These Spirits Exist And These Tales Even Half Baked Become Folklore When Repeated Once Too Often As Passing Rumours.
But When It Happens To Come From People Who Had First Hand Encounters Or Someone Very Close To Them Experienced It Is When Disbelief Gets Very Thin And One Doesn’t Know What To Believe And How Much To Trust And How Much To Laugh Off And Ignore As Fear & Imagination Join Hands. Moreso, When The Chilling Encounter Is Claimed To Be First Hand And The Person Has Survived To Tell The Tale First Hand?
#WohBhanayakRaat Is One Such Spine Chilling Tale That Is A Taut Suspense Thriller. All 55 Pages Of It Between The Covers. The Author mithlesh__gupta_ Has A Tight Hold On The Plot And Does Not Let It Go Slack. Thus Keeping The Readers Attention Firmly In His Grip As He Takes Them Along On This Moonless Hair Raising Journey That Swiftly Turns Into A Never Ending Nightmare That Is As Bloody As It Is Creepy And There Is No End In Sight As It Seems To Revolve In A Loop.
The Plot In A Nutshell Is Woven Around A Retired Army Officer Major Sangram Singh And His Family Who Are Returning Home After Attending A Function On A Foggy Wet Night His Car Hits An Object On The Road That Is Hard To Tell If It Was A Woman, Child Or An Animal.
Instead Of Fleeing, He Decides To Stop And Investigate The Mystery. Because He Finds No Body Or Anybody Seriously Hurt. So Perhaps It Was An A Wild Animal That Got Hit And Crawled Into The Jungle. But The Sound Of An Old Woman Weeping With A Child In Her Lap. The More Closer He Reaches Deeper Into The Forest. When The Army Officer Finally Steps Out Of The Jungle He Seems To Be A Changed Man Altogether. Driving Home, When The Map Says They Should Be Out Of The Jungle In Next 15 Minutes On Their Way Home But Even An Hour Later They Are Still Deep In The Forest. That’s When Realisation Dawns That They’re Going Around In Circles With No Way To Get Home. Blatant Plagiarism!!

This book is basically a dumbed down version of a Hollywood flik 'Dead End'

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_...

The author has seen this movie. Copied the entire plot, Indianized it with some desi masala, & published it as his own work.

Someone please report this!

Sad state of Indian literature. From being pioneers with epics like Mahabharat, we have stooped down to copying western works to make money!! So sad.

I picked this book as I am a fan of horror books. But the book is below average.
The story revolves around a family driving through a supposedly haunted jungle. It is a short story, but unnecessarily stretched to make a longer one.
Read it if you don't have anything else to read. Otherwise, can be skipped.

I have also read the 2nd book of this series, and found it somewhat better than this one!

A good gripping tale

Very good mystery and suspense thriller. The story keeps you glued and the hindi used is also not very complex. A short read again but the ending was somewhat predictable which could be the effect of watching too many horror flicks.
