The first book in Molly Harper's uproariously funny, sinfully sexy new Mystic Bayou series!

Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay's career has taken a turn south.

Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a

Cute book is cute. I only wish that the mystery behind the murders wasn't REALLY FREAKING OBVIOUS and yet the police officer is all 'I can't figure out what is the connection between these victims' *insert side-eye here*. Then there is the romance. I was enjoying the 'I think you're hot but I find your personality annoying' trope, until it suddenly ends with them having sex. And I don't mean that in the heat of the moment they put aside their logical feelings to give into their carnal ones. No, ...more
Molly Harper knows how to write funny, quirky characters. I love having an author that I can count on to always make me smile.

In this book, we have Jillian (a great name, IMHO), and Bael (not as good - this guy is named after an evil god in the bible who demanded death sacrifices?). He's the sheriff of a town that has a mixture of all kinds of magical people and humans. She's a scientist who is there to write a report on how their town is able to blend this mixture of magic-kind and still get

Did you know a person can be murdered by ragweed? Okay, maybe that’s an overstatement, but the ragweed count where I live is tryna kill me, bruh. When I’m feeling uggy, there’s only one thing to do . . . .

That’s where my go-to-gal Molly Harper comes in. Both her Southern Eclectic and Naked Werewolf series have served as brain candy in the past and since Halloween is just around the corner I thought some more shifty good times were

How To Date Your Dragon is a fantabulous paranormal adventure that takes you to the sexy culture of the bayou, where various shifter species live in harmony and a killer on the loose and an enthralling tale between a dragon and a human researcher....

A couple days ago I saw this book in the featured Audible Romance Package titles, and i realized that I hadn't picked up Molly Harper in quite a while and decided that trying one of her

Audio: This was my first time having two narrators. They did a wonderful job. It took some getting use too having a female and male narrator, but I did enjoy the different voices. I liked how it changes in each chapter; between the two narrators. It was different, but enjoyable. I will say I liked Amanda Ronoconi’s Cajun accent. Jonathan Davis did a good job too, but I did

A thoroughly entertaining listen

Within five minutes of starting How to Date Your Dragon, I was wearing a big goofy grin on my face. Molly Harper is a very talented author and I absolutely love her sense of humour.

The characters were interesting, the storyline held a hint of intrigue which kept me entertained, and the connection between Jillian and Bael jumped off the pages. I was completely satisfied with this story and I will not hesitate to read or listen to more from this author.

Throw all the stars at this book!!! It is excellent!! Molly Harper, who I LOVE, BTW, has excelled in this book. She is introducing a new series of shifters and magic and romance. Our heroine is funny, confident and strong. Just the kind of girl we all love to invite into our book friendship party. You know, that party you would throw with lots of fattening foods and dancing, and has Chris Hemsworth tending bar. (If you’re gonna dream, make it big) Its the party you invite all the literary ...more

How to Date Your Dragon is the initial offering in Ms. Harper’s new audiobook-first Mystic Bayou series. The book takes place in modern-day Louisiana, in a world where a limited number of humans know about the existence of the paranormal beings who live among us. The League for Interspecies Cooperation is one group who knows about the paras and is preparing for the day everyone else finds out.

Jillian is sent to the town of Mystic Bayou by the League to study how different paranormal species and

This author has a formula for her paranormal romance books that suits the novella length very well.

Jillian is an anthropologist with a secret group who are aware of the existence of mythical creatures. She's been sent to the town of Mystic Bayou to research the success of a mixed community of paranormals and ordinary humans. There she encounters the town sheriff Bael, a dragon shifter and there's an immediate attraction between them that both are determined to resist. All with the backdrop of

Have you ever read a story that is paranormal, mystery and romantic comedy? Well, here's one for you. There's one more thing, the story takes place in a small town. You Know, gossip and everyone in everyone's business. Funny and caring folks. And the most interesting thing, they are all different species.

This was fun to read but I thought the mystery element was weak. The sheriff and Mayor could not figure out what all the deceased had in common when it was obvious from the get go. I can't wait to see who Zed gets paired with.

A super quick and fun read, How to Date Your Dragon is another well-written supernatural quasi mystery by Molly Harper. Her latest release is set in Mystic Bayou, a small town in Louisiana, where humans and supernatural creatures coexist peaceably.

Jillian, an anthropologist and newbie with the League for Interspecies Cooperation, is sent to Mystic Bayou to research their success in peaceable coexistence. You see, the majority of people in the world have no idea that supernatural creatures exist

4.5 How to Date Your Dragon Stars

I am a huge Molly Harper, but not just Molly I also equally love Amanda Ronconi so when I saw they added another narrator. I was a little worried but not too much and let me tell you Jonathan Davis’s voice is the voice of Bael.

Jillian and Bael meet because she is set out to record the why’s of this town. Why does it work and how can it be replicated.

She works for a cooperation that wants to make the coming out of shifters and other creatures that live among the
Audiobook: Narrators – Amanda Ronconi and Jonathan Davis

Holy fireballs! This narration was not just a book being read to me, this was a performance! BOTH of these narrators brought this book to LIFE! I’m talking, perfect accents, different voices for every…single…character, and their own interpretation of how the words should be spoken. Their performance is reason alone to listen to this one. I need every freaking audiobook both of them have recorded! Even while the story was a bit lacking in

cute but a bit boring.

How to Date Your Dragon was an okay audiobook. Honestly, I picked this book because it was super short and free on my audible. I also feel like I've read something like this before so I was intrigued. Yet, when I dove into this.. it was just okay.

In it, you will meet Jillian and Bael. She is an anthropologist and he's a sheriff. If you ever watched Bones, it's kind of like those two main characters. They both live and work in a town that is mixed with humans and

I thought this story was just as cute and fun as all get out, but that is kinda what I expect from Molly Harper. I can't wait for the next books in the Mystic Bayou series to see what the magi are getting up to down in the Lousiana swamp.

This book is an Audible Original - so the print copy has yet to be released. But I encourage you to listen to the audiobook if you are able. The narrators did a great job... but I really really liked the female narrator Amanda Ronconi. She did a great (and

This is a more-or-less by-the-numbers paranormal romance, though since it's Molly Harper at least all the elements work. The world building is, appropriately enough, a kind of jambalaya of just about everything (except maybe vampires). The Southern Louisiana small town of Mystic Bayou has a mix of all kinds of shifters and fae and Jillian is sent by the sooper seekrit league to study how they get along so well because it's only a matter of time before supernaturals aren't so seekrit any more and ...more

My first Molly Harper book! I've said for a few years now that I was going to read her books. Well, I spotted this title (what a hoot, by the by) and then that it was the launch of a new series. So, I headed down on the bayou for some crawfish boil, anthropology studies, and a sexy dragon.

How to Date Your Dragon is part of the Audible Exclusive series. If it's like another I listened to, I suspect it will release in print and electronic on a delay so no worries for the non-audio group.

I know some are not happy with the duet narration but I loved it. It totally made sense to add a male narrator for Bael's POV chapters. If you are use to listening to stories written in alternating POVs and have listened to them on audio you won't have an issue with the change up on narration.

Amanda Ronconi was great as always. Jonathan Davis brought a fresh feel to Harper's work. I really like how he narrated Bael and his BFF the bear shifter. He had just enough
This is really a 2.5. I don't think I've listened to a Molly Harper book that didn't elicit a chuckle from me...until this one.

This was a fun, sweet, sexy, and sassy introduction into the world of Mystic Bayou. Jillian is an anthropologist working for a secret government agency. She gets assigned to Mystic Bayou to learn about the way the town cohabitates with the paranormal and human population. Bael is the sheriff in town and assigned to keep Jillian safe while she does her work. Jillian and Bael have a sexual chemistry that jumps off the page during their first meeting and keeps you going as

The narrators for this audiobook were very good. Their performance was pretty spot on and made this audiobook easy to listen too.

The story was good as well but the romance was a bit lacking in this story. I felt like the main event in this book was the town and all the different majic living there that Jillian was studying for her job. While interesting, it wasn't blowing me away. I would have liked more focus on Bael and Jillian.

Okay, so I was pretty hesitant to read this because although I did read the Sookie Stackhouse series about 7-10 years ago, I'm not much on the fantasy/shifter genre. Plus, if I'm being honest, the title was a bit hokey for my taste. That being said, I saw it was included in the Audible romance package so I figured I'd give it a try.
Man, I'm so glad I did, because I loved it!

Terri ♥ (aka Mrs. Christian Grey)
This was a solid four read, had all the hallmark elements of a Molly Harper book. However, the suspense element was really weak. You have the hero pondering what the victims have in common and he doesn’t put together the human element. I felt my intelligence level begin tested because that was just dumb and it annoyed me. Because he should have figured that out before the heroine. The killer was as obvious as the red herring. Overall that detracted from the story. Then the ending with the sappy ...more

I usually look forward to a new book from this author and pre-order them from audible as I love the narrator. This one surprised me a bit as along with my favorite narrator, Amanda Ronconi, there was a male, who I didn't really care for.

I liked the town of Mystic Bayou and the crazy citizens, but didn't care for the couple, which made it hard to root for them to end up with a HEA. Not sure why I didn't like Bael or Jillian, just didn't. I'm hoping other books in this series will be better.
Cute, funny, predictable and almost identical to Even Tree Nymphs Get the Blues. It might have made a stronger impression if we hadn't listened to two things by the same author in a row. This one had more of what I expect from PNR, i.e. death and explicit sex. ("Tree Nymphs" was more of a cozy.)

My mother remembers an 8-year-old me setting up my “writing office” in our living room by putting her old manual typewriter on the couch next to a toy phone. And I (very slowly) pecked out the story of my third-grade class taking a trip around the world and losing a kid in each city.

I had a dark sense of humor, even then.
