This illustrated biography of the famous motor racing driver details his racing career, his background, family life and his many racing triumphs, up until the time of his fatal accident on the Hockenheim racing circuit in Germany in 1968.
This is a bit of a lightweight biography, weighing in at around 150 pages. But it's loaded with photographs, so there is probably quite a bit less than 100 pages of text. And the first chapter, which is nearly a third of the book, is a dry recap of his racing career. This is the Third Edition, which includes an additional chapter written in 1989 and has a section of color photographs.
The author knew Clark fairly well and appears in at least one of the photographs.
The most interesting part, to me at least, is the in-depth description of his fatal wreck. I don't mean that I have any sort of morbid interest, but perhaps other parts of the book would have interested me more if they were as detailed as this part.
