I wasn't sure what to expect of this one, but wow, it was just amazing.

Another one of my: It is Halloween I need horror-manga. I came across this one thanks to a blog I am following. It looked interesting and so I, naturally, had to try it out.

Holy crap, this was creepy as hell. Meet Ellen, a girl who has a disease that causes her skin to shrivel up and it looks like she is burned. It hurts her a lot and she cannot walk too much or too far. She is pretty much reliant on help, however we see

The Witch’s House is a game.

I’m serious it is a literally a game.

I discovered it when I was in the throes of the breakup with my baby daddy and needed something to take my mind off of it. That is when I discovered Let’s Plays ladies and gentlemen and happened upon Markiplier. I will freely admit I used to have a crush on him and watched his videos NONSTOP. They were fun, scary, and I love watching horror games I will never play. Plus he’s cute. It’s a winning combo okay.

So this manga was on sale at my LCS the last time I was there, and seeing as I have a thing for witches, I thought I might enjoy it. I will be honest and say I got a jolt when I started reading it. The sickness and the state of Ellen really resonated with the things I've been through myself, how my body still is - something I have to warn the hubby about, as he also wanted to read this manga, but react almost worse to mentions of sickness and being a prisoner to your own body than I

Hey. Why're you smiling black cat?

Based on a videogame I will admit I did not play yet I was able to see things from Ellen the Witch's perspective as we see what life was like before being granted her house or how she fell from an innocent girl into a monster for a simple wish. After all who doesn't want to be loved in the end.

This book shares a certain style of horror I have seen in Higurashi and Umineko by Ryukishi07 where there are elements of cuteness that are cut by a darker edgy style

This was a weird book. It tells the story of a sick girl that wanted to be loved. By the plot of the book, she ends up helping a cat. As a result of this, she ends up living in a house that does not allow her illness to show ( as long as she feeds it souls), and she is friends with the cat and can pretty much do anything that she wants in this house. The book itself was ok for a light read. I believe this is part of game series and I think that I had seen the game as a play through someone on ...more

One of the few RPG horror games (or actually any game) that I finished everything and all endings. This manga follows the story from Ellen's perspective, filling in the blanks left in her diary in the game.

A creepy start, but nothing unbelievably amazing, especially if you know the game.

Warnings for murder, neglect, body horror, animal cruelty/death, kidnapping, mutilation, implied rape(? still not sure), and probably more that I am forgetting

I need to read a happy story after back to back

I'm so very excited and happy with this. Taking older, loved games and making them into manga or novels is genius. I love, absolutely love to read the whole series! It makes me hope that they'll do the same for Misao, Mad Father, Ib, and others!
This story is the dark, but if you know the games, than this is a perfect addition, and a perfect revival of the beloved game.

grew up around the game same as Mad Father, IB, and Yumi Niki. So when i found out that this was turnd in to a manga I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and was lucky enough to get it as a gift from a great friend.

I'm not sure how to feel about this murderous little girl - is her brain forever stuck in the reasoning of a seven-year-old? A bit too creepy for me.
