Rate this book
Werewolf Carter Sinclair is on the hunt. He’s tracking a newly turned vamp, a beauty with bite named Lauren McIntosh. Hunting her is the easy part. After all, no one can hide from a wolf. But once Carter gets the vamp in his arms, his easy mission suddenly goes straight to hell.

One taste, one bite that should never have happened…and Carter is hooked—mind, body, soul. Nature has plans for him and Lauren. They’re to be mates, but there is a vicious vamp waiting in the dark—a killer who has already claimed Lauren as his.

Now Carter has a new mission—keep Lauren safe at all costs. Make her fall for him. And hide all of the very dark and dangerous secrets that fill his closet. He needs Lauren to trust him, he needs her to stay with him, and the last thing he wants is for Lauren to know just how deeply he’s already betrayed her. What she never knows can’t hurt her, right?

Their mating is forbidden, but Carter is about to break every werewolf and vamp rule out there in order to claim Lauren. And those fools who try to get in his way will find out just how deadly his beast can truly be…because there is no one in the world more important to a wolf…than his mate.

Author's Note: If you love hot alpha wolves and sexy vamps with bite, this book is for you. Lust comes first and fast in the "Bite" books, but love soons follows. MATING BITE contains 52,000 words.

4 - "Life and death are full of surprises..." Stars!

Book two in the Bite series brings us Werewolf; Carter Sinclair’s story.

Having been involved in the previous book, and knowing what happened to him in the latter stages I was interested to see what adventure the author would give him.

"Just be glad I saved your ass…"

And although the theme of the story is similar to what happened in the first book, in that the romance is thought of as taboo in the paranormal world the author has created, she also introduced a few new secondary characters that makes me think this is a series that’s got at least a couple more books to come from it.

"I don’t like secrets."

This makes me happy, Cynthia Eden’s paranormal offerings are always an enjoyable reading diversion from everyday life, and Carter and Lauren’s story was no different. Alpha male/Werewolf rescues newly turned Sassy Vampire, and what he initially though was a grab and deliver turns into so much more when the mating bond burns bright between them.

"I’ll make her mine…"

But a Werewolf and a Vampire mating is not the sociably acceptable norm, and could potentially cause all-out war. Secrets and lies, love and loss, this book had a little bit of everything.

"You make me want to be more..."

I really enjoyed it, which was expected, and I really hope that the author has a few more stories on her schedule in the coming months.

I'm loving this incredible new series from Cynthia Eden! This book went from 0-60 and stayed at 60 until the very end. The author brought some new twists to a vampire/werewolf mating. I won't spoil the story and let you find out when you read it. The matings are intense and you get very protective Alpha's in this series. Lauren was pretty naive, but she was still very likeable. The way Carter protected her was perfect even though he wasn't perfect himself. We're left wanting more with a few side characters, more specifically in Riley. I really want to know how he finds a way to mate his human love. Please let him be the next in the series! ARC provided by NetGalley.

I drank red wine with this one.
Coz to read a vampire/werewolf story without an old good red is like to scroll through cookbook on an empty stomach ;-)

Wow, this was one wild crazy ride! I absolutely loved this story and the extremes this couple had to go through to find their happy ever after.

Lauren was not born a vampire, she was transformed which is a rare occurrence. She is struggling with this unwanted life and all she longs for is to return to her human form again. Carter was given blood by a vampire to save his life and in the process has become addicted to vamp blood. In order to appease his thirst he has become something like a bounty hunter. His current job is to find Lauren and return her to the man who claims to be her mate.

These characters have so many bumps in the road on their journey to togetherness that I was certain at one point there could not possibly be a happy solution. Each time I felt sure they were traveling in the right direction another obstacle arose. Instead of aggravating me, these problems added to the overall wonderfulness of the story. They were completely within the realm of normal – for a vampire/werewolf romance – and never felt contrived. My emotions were all over the place and I couldn’t get enough of it. Of course by the time I reached the end I felt a bit exhausted and strung out and just so dang happy and content.

No one does a better protective, possessive hero than Cynthia Eden and I’m quickly becoming addicted to her brand of alpha.

Book two in this series and it's still a storyline that revolves around the forbidden biting by werewolves of vampires. Werewolf Carter has seen firsthand that for a favoured few it can work out but for him the lifesaving blood of his alphas vampire mate had disastrous consequences leaving him addicted to vampire blood. It's ok though as he's taken a job hunting down a missing vampire and he's been promised all the blood he needs. Slight problem though as not only is his prey gorgeous but it just so happens that Lauren is his mate! What a pretty pickle to be in, wanting to protect Lauren but not letting her know just why he has really been chasing her!
I've got to hand it to this author she always delivers incredibly imaginative and steamy paranormal stories. Ok yes this book is slightly shorter than some she's written but there's still plenty of unique and interesting ideas going on. The idea of the different species not sharing blood is a new one to me but it's fleshed out here with very intriguing possibilities setting up. Plus this time not only do we get hot protective werewolves crossing swords ( or should that be fangs ) with incredibly fast vampires but witches too are thrown into the mix and I'm curious to see how that pans out as the series continues.
If it's chemistry that floats your boat than this couple will tick all your boxes plus there's a very nasty vampire to boo and hiss at. I liked that characters from the first book Forbidden Bite showed up and yes we are introduced to new ones who surely must get their own books. Bottom line is I enjoyed this story but there's a cautionary tale here as not telling the truth can cause all sorts of problems!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is awesome and goes well with book 1!

This is the 2nd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. Even though you can read them out of order, I recommend reading them in order because it makes for a richer experience and knowing the what happened in book 1 makes this better as a whole.

This is Carter’s story. If you have read book 1, you know who he is. He is a werewolf with a problem, and he is hired to find a new vampire. He is thrown for a loop, and of course, things do not go as planned. I already liked Carter from book 1, and I definitely love him even more in this book.

Lauren was turned against her will, and she thinks she is a monster. She is running and trying to figure things out when Carter comes into her life. She trusts him and doesn’t know why.

Together they have one heck of an adventure that is packed with adventure, treachery, and feelings. I couldn’t put it down. It was an exciting read, and I can’t wait for more in this series. I wonder who will be next, and what other new things will be learned.

I highly recommend to all shifter and vamp fans who want an exciting read with steamy romance! I can’t wait to learn more about this world and those in it!

Not many authors could keep up with the amount of books published yearly and make them all enjoyable like Cynthia Eden does.

I'm loving this second book in her Bite series, Mating Bite. First off I love werewolves, second...it's Cynthia Eden.

You met Carter in Forbidden Bite and know he's got a thing for vampire blood. So when he's off to find Lauren a newly changed vampire who's run away from her creator you think the worst for poor Lauren.

I very much enjoyed how you see that Lauren's new life as a vampire isn't exactly what she wanted. Her struggles feel real and you want so badly for it all to turn out good for her. You hurt for her betrayal.

I was so happy when it turns out that Carter wanted her more then just because it's his job to find her and bring her back. He falls for her very hard and wants to be with her for now and ever. And for them forever is a long time.

As a whole the story is enjoyable. Like I said, it follows Forbidden Bite but is billed as a stand alone. I personally would read Forbidden Bite first, then Mating Bite. But are doable in one sitting. I looking forward to Riley's story and hope it's next.

If you're a paranormal fan then you'll really enjoy this quick moving story and love the charcters. Eden is one of those authors you can't stop reading!

Werewolf Carter has a clear mission, to search for and return a missing vampire lady to her sire. He didn´t count on how he´d react to the woman in question..
Lauren´s worst nightmare happened when the man she was falling for turned out to be a vampire out for her blood. Not one to stick around and join in killings, she sets out on her own to find a way back to humanity. When Carter comes along saving her, she can´t believe her luck. And Carter has secrets..
Can a vampire and werewolf mix, and find a happily ever after?
PNR romance, action and smutty fluff in an awesome combo. Love it!

A powerful, addicting, all-consuming paranormal romance that left me WANTING another bite out of Mating Bite! I powered through Mating Bite because it was. So. Freaking. Amazing. Carter is EXACTLY the kind of hero I have dreams about and Lauren, her innocence, beauty, smarts, and trust in Carter is BEAUTIFUL! These two have an all-consuming, sizzling chemistry that is OFF THE CHARTS HOTTTTTT! Seriously, I DEVOURED Mating Bite in less than a day because I just COULDN'T STOP READING!

Cynthia Eden has AGAIN created a story that just appeals to me in EVERY way. Her characters are sexy, dangerous, and likable while the story intensifies and call forth many emotions. Her paranormal romances just can't be denied and Mating Bite is MY NEW FAVORITE!

ARC from NetGalley.

This is the story of Carter after Isabella gave her blood to save him.

I like how the revelations pop up one after another. Being in Lauren's shoes, it is a mite overwhelming. From being dead, then suddenly craving of blood, after wards seeing a werewolf, only to become a mate of one. It too much.

I understood the need to be human. We ran away from the things that we cannot comprehend, and sometimes we also destroy it. This a good example of it. Her fear made her stop in killing, her humanity is still there. I love how the moral values of this book was portrayed.

If book one centers on belief of each person, then this one centers on how humans react to the sudden changes that happened in their lives. From how Lauren's reaction to Carter's determination to protect and his undying love.

First comes lust, then something more. . .

I look forward in reading the next book in this series.

Carter has a big sweet side, “it’s okay. I’ll be right here. You’re safe.” His lips pressed to her temple. “From now on, you’ll always be safe. I swear it.” Sometimes when Lauren asks a question she gets more than she bargained for, "he unlocked his jaw. “To be brutally honest, step one was to eff you.” Lauren sometimes has to give her man a helping hand, “I’ll take care of the jeans,” she said as she pulled her head back. “Though I’m sure you could rip those away, too.” She rose off him. Stood by the side of the bed. His damn claws were out . His beast was hungry for her." I liked this book, I loved Carter.

Review posted on Got Fiction?

I love a good Paranormal Romance, and I know when I pick up a Cynthia Eden book, that she delivers.

This is the second book in her new Bite series, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Lauren is a new vampire, and she's on the run. She's been turned by Antoine Abandonato, the bad guy from Forbidden Bite, and he wants her back.

Carter is a werewolf who has a dark secret. In the last book, he was saved by the heroine, his alpha's new mate. The problem? Being saved by ingesting vampire blood means he's now addicted.

When Antoine hires Carter to hunt down his mate Lauren, he offers Carter all the vamp blood he can handle. But, the conditions are simple, no biting Lauren, and bring Lauren back.

But Lauren doesn't know Carter is a werewolf, and Carter doesn't know Lauren is his mate.

When Carter realizes what she is to him, he knows he won't be handing her over to Antoine, but he still hasn't told Lauren what he is...or what she is to him.

Antoine wants his mate back, though, and he won't let her go, even if it means killing Carter. Lauren and Carter get closer even while Carter is lying to her. But what happens when Lauren finds out Carter was hired to hunt her for the man she's running from?

As usual Ms. Eden has sucked me in to her paranormal world. I loved reading this, and I can't wait for the next in this series.

*Note: This series is only available on Amazon via Kindle. Ms. Eden has mentioned that if you buy it on amazon and email her the receipt, she'll email you the epub version if that's what you read.

"If you do not own a Kindle, you can download the free Kindle App for your PC, your SmartPhone or your IPad. MATING BITE is also available as a print title (link).

And…another option (going over all options!), if you only read ePub versions of my books (not the Mobi digital files that come from Amazon), then I am going to follow the example of a few other authors and offer you this…if you purchase MATING BITE from Amazon, just forward me your receipt. (You can forward the receipt to me at info@cynthiaeden.com.) When I receive the receipt, I will then send you an ePub version of MATING BITE."

The second book in this series - it can be read as a standalone but reading the first would set the main players in context .

Werewolf Carter Sinclair is on the hunter - he is tracking a newly turned vamp named Lauren McIntosh. He has left his pack after receiving blood from his Alpha's vampire mate - its addictive and has left him craving vampire blood at all costs .
Lauren is in hiding - recently turned against her will by her boyfriend ...........who knew there was such a thing as Vampires - she is trying to survive and stay under the radar until she finds out if the process can be reversed .... she is desperate to return to being human .
Lauren is soon in deep waters - the witch she meets is not all she seems and Carter soon rushes in to rescue her .
The chemistry between them is explosive , their attraction instant - THEY ARE MATES - but both are keeping secrets , which will come back to haunt them .
Carter must trust his old Alpha with their safety as Lauren's Maker is determined to have her back in his hands at all costs - EVEN WAR between shifters and vampires .

I enjoyed this book with one exception - Lauren's attitude , she is a bit of a martyr and too gullible . I look forward to the next in this series and the expansion of the relationship between shifter mates and vampires .

I was given an ARC of this book by the Publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review .

Mating Bite is the second book in the Bite series, with Carter Sinclair, who we met in the first book, and a friend of the new alpha Griffin. Carter left his pack because of his new vampire blood addiction after Isabella, Griffin's mate, saved his life. He didn't want his pack to see his spiraling behavior. Carter takes a job from a prominent vampire to find his newly turned vampire mate Lauren McIntosh. Only she's not the vamps mate... she's Carter's.

Lauren wasn't that hard for Carter to find, but once he gets a taste he discovers he can't let her go. But with the vicious vampire waiting for him to bring him Lauren he has to keep himself alive so he can protect Lauren. He decides to keep secrets from Lauren but by the time they come out, she's in love with him and forgive him. Although Lauren forgives him, Carter never wanted her to know just how deeply she was betrayed by him.

I enjoyed getting to know Carter better as a character, but this story was a lot slower and took more time to get into than the first story. Lauren seemed to complain about being a vamp throughout the entire book and how she wanted to become human again. She finally realizes that she's happy the way she is at the very end. I liked the Carter and Lauren's story, but I didn't think it was as good as the first book in the series.

MATING BITE was an enjoyable and quick read, but it is pretty similar to FORBIDDEN BITE, in that we have a male vampire hiring a werewolf to track down a female vampire, for reasons other than what is claimed. In this case, Carter is hired to track down newly-turned vampire, Lauren, and return her to her maker and “mate”.

Rule Five: Mating is forever. If you don’t believe that, try taking away a wolf’s mate. See how well that shit works for you.

Because it’s a novella, it is a fairly quick read, so I can’t say much about Carter and Lauren other than I liked them. I loved how protective Carter was of Lauren, and I really felt for her when she explained how she was turned against her will, the fear she felt as she was being murdered, and the fear of losing her humanity. I did struggle to understand her reason behind the conflict, but it all worked out in the end.

MATING BITE is told mostly in Carter and Lauren’s POVs, but is also occasionally told in the POV of other characters. It comes with a HEA for Carter and Lauren, and with the introduction of two new characters (Natalie and Riley), I wonder if there’ll be another book or two in the future. I hope there will be because I want to read them.

'Mating Bite' by Cynthia Eden is Book Two in the "Bite" series. This is the story of Carter Sinclair and Lauren McIntosh. This can be a standalone book if you choose to do so.
Carter is a Werewolf who's pack leader mated with a Vampire named Isabella. When Isabella and he were being attacked and he was injured Isabella gave him some of her Vampire Blood. Vampire blood to a wolf that isn't your mate makes you crave Vampire Blood which now Carter has fallen victim to.
Note: this portion of Carter life was in the previous book and this one picks up with Carter leaving the pack because he didn't want the other members to know how much he craved Vampire blood and was also scared he might try to hurt Isabella. But he is contacted by Isabella's cousin, Antoine who is not a good Vampire to find his missing "mate' and in exchange he will see that he gets all the Vampire blood he needs. But when Carter goes to find Lauren who is a newly turned Vampire (by Antoine) she is on the run from him. Carter who deceives her into thinking he is trying to help her get away from Antoine quickly learns that she is his mate and he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.

Hot on the heels of Forbidden Bite which was meant to be a one-off, comes Mating Bite. Eden's paranormals are very good, usually just that little bit different which make them some of the more awesome to read. Mating Bite is a little too close to Forbidden Bite in terms of overall plot to be truly special.

But, that said, I did enjoy Carter and Lauren's story and the introduction of some new people into this world. Carter was saved by Isabella in Forbidden Bite but now he has a problem and he's abandoned his pack. So now he is tracking down a newly made vamp, Lauren. Lauren's got a bit of a one-track mind and she isn't nearly as fleshed out as Carter. But overall, this is a more plot driven book.

Riley, on the other hand, had better be getting a book. And the Dealer was an interesting character as well. Overall, a good book but not a stand out.

Werewolf Carter Sinclair left his pack when he became addicted to vampire blood and is offered a deal by born vampire Antoine Abandonato, the baddest of the bad ... find a runaway vamp, bring her back and get access to an unlimited supply of vamp blood. But when Carter finds the beautiful Lauren and realises that she's his mate, the deal's off ... and he will kill anyone who tries to take Lauren away from him. New vampire Lauren McIntosh just wants to be human again and is devastated when she finds out there's no going back. Nobody has helped Lauren since her nightmare began and she's been on the run from Antoine, the vampire who turned her, ever since. That is, until the handsome Carter walks into her life and becomes her knight in shining armour. Lauren doesn't know anything about mating but she knows that she's falling for Carter. Carter takes Lauren back to his pack for protection but is that enough to keep her safe from Antoine? Will Carter and Lauren get their HEA?

Cynthia Eden delivers an action-packed, suspenseful, and steamy thriller so full of twists and turns that you won't be able to put it down

I always love Ms. Eden's books

Lauren was a showgirl who was recently turned into a vampire. She is running from the guy who turned her because he is a very old vampire and evil.
Carter is a werewolf and craves vampire blood after his Alpha's mate saves him by giving him her blood. He leaves the pack and gets an offer from a vampire. Find my mate and I'll give you all the blood you need. Werewolves are the best trackers and finds Lauren in no time.
When Carter realizes Lauren is his mate, he'll do anything to keep her safe. They have a witch, wolves, and vampires after them but he believes the only safe place is at his Alpha's place. Lauren thinks she can return to human and is told if she doesn't kill before the month is up, she'll be a human again but she'll lose Carter. Will she stay a vamp forever or will sho choose to be human again?
Awesome story. Loved the storyline and characters. Plenty of surprises. Secrets. Lies. Sex. Can't wait for the next one.

This is the second book in the Bite series. I do recommend reading the first one so you understand why Carter has the issue that he has and how he ended up doing the task he was doing. Carter was a part of Griffin's pack in the first book but has since left. Lauren is a newly turned vampire and not willingly! She is looking for a way to turn back. They end up saving each other's lives and through the exchange of bites figure out they are mates. But that doesn't make it everything else fall in line or keep them safe! They still have to overcome the original obstacles in their path along with a few extras! This was a fun, fast read. I really enjoyed it and the different take on vampires and werewolves.

I really enjoy this series. I like how the vampire/werewolf history connect and how they are even learning about what is and what isn't as things happen. Seems they lost quite a bit of their history warring against each other.

We have a newly transformed vampire who has run from her sire. She doesn't want to be a vampire and he wants her back. He wants to find out why she was able to make the transition. So he hires Carter, a werewolf suffering vampire blood addiction, to track and bring her back.

Funny thing happens along the way. Carter saves her and figures out she is his mate. Oh this can be interesting :).

Eisch! How this author plays with my heart in every story.
I HATED Carter at the beginning of this story, I absolutely thought CE had finally written a story that I could not get into and an H that I would rather see Mask style weggied , Hogtied, rolled in tar, feathered and tossed into a deep dark hole rather than let him have a HEA.
HAH I should have had more faith, when Cynthia Eden makes a character redeem himself she goes all out, by the end of that story I was in tears, I wanted to take that poor poor male, knit him slippers and cuddle him to pieces.
Loved it!

A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I did not read the t k but I usually love Cynthia Eden's books. While I knew I was missing stuff it reads quite well as a stand alone book. This book did not disappoint me. I got frustrated with both Lauren and Carter. It just shows how involved I get. Yelling at the characters is my flaw not Cynthia Eden's. I think most paranormal romance readers would like this book, the relationship between vamps and werewolves is a bit different. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Exciting fast pace read. Loved the characters especially Carter wolf shifter, strong sexy, dangerous. He was the perfect book boyfriend for the few hours we were together. Lauren was sweet and honest, and did everything to hold on to her humanity. No complaints about this one.

Great read! In this next story we have Carter who is suffering from blood addiction, leaves his pack because of it and ends up working for an evil man, tasked to bring in his supposed mate, Lauren. Well not everything is at it seems. Carter realizes that he has been lied to and he has been continuously lying to Lauren. *sigh* Lots of blood, killings, werewolf/vampire mating hot sex, followed by some brief angst, then a HEA! 4 stars.
