So I am not one to partake in autobiographies but I was forced to read this book because I am a HUGE fan of her performance art. I myself am in no way a member of the artist community per se, but I do find art, especially performance art, to be extremely inspiring to my everyday life. The book is excellently written, weaving the historical facts of her life with her evolving philosophy on transcendence, awareness, and presence. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with any interest in awareness and would relish the experience to marvel in this lady's unique way of representing awareness through provocative, highly visceral, and actually quite moving performances.

This book introduces context of Marina Abramovic so well; her childhood, her studies in art school and students' protest around that time has shaped Marina who she is. This book really helped me to research better on this performance artist.

Focused and practical, helps understand Abramovic' influences, motivations, and key works.
Useful if you're interested in learning her method, meditation for performance artists to help them develop presence and access the state of mind necessary for performance.

Excellent

[One error though: It says Abramovic was born in Montenegro when she was born in Belgrade (I've seen the house she was born in)]

Lots of grammatical errors in this edition, but great foundation and introduction to Marina and various key concepts of countless areas. Great technical book tho, the ideas are well organized and explained simply, perfect to keep as an aid.
