Crowned By Love
England, 1471. Denys Woodville does not know who she is. Adopted as an infant, she now lives with her mother, Elizabeth Woodville: now queen and married to Edward IV.
Denys makes numerous attempts to uncover her true lineage, but each effort comes to an abrupt and tragic end. Queen Elizabeth metes out Denys's ultimate degradation, when she marries her off to the ambitious Valentine Starbury.
But as her feelings for Valentine strengthen and bloom into love, she finally finds out who her family is... and the truth about her past.

Hi, hello. Do you want a story that gets basic dates wrong (I'm not even talking about the acknowledged fudging of the kingmaker's death date), gives a nonsense mystery that makes even less sense once it tries to explain the resolution, has a romance that feels written by AI, goes out of its way to demonize or trivialize every historical lady in favor of the fictional main character, romanticizes Christopher Columbus to a truly astounding degree, and is written with prose worse than a grocery list?
I've got a book for you! It's this one.
(Members of the Richard III society, I really think y'all need to get together and group proof-read the works of members who are going to name drop you. Just for your own sake.)

I give this book 1 and a half stars. The premise started out quite nicely but it soon faded as the story moved forward. There was less excitement in me as I reached for my kindle and I unfortunately did not find much remarkable about this book.
The was a lack of depth to the characters, the writing was shoddy and lacked the escapist satisfaction one should feel when reading. The characters felt very two dimensional and their interactions with each other just felt unemotional.
All in all im very glad to have ended this book.

Crowned By Love by Diana Rubino is an engaging historical romance set in England during the turbulent fifteenth century. Denys Woodville's uncertain identity immediately creates an intriguing mystery, especially as she grows up connected to Queen Elizabeth while knowing little about her own origins.
I particularly enjoyed the way the story combines questions of family, identity, political power, and romance. Denys's attempts to uncover the truth about her past repeatedly lead to complications, while her arranged marriage to Valentine Starbury gradually develops into something much more meaningful.
The historical setting adds another layer of intrigue to Denys's personal journey. Her search for her true lineage gives the story a strong sense of mystery, while the developing relationship between Denys and Valentine provides its emotional center. A good choice for readers who enjoy historical romance with royal intrigue, secrets, and questions of identity.

How much of this is true?
I love history, and historical novels are a fun and easy way to get the background. But if the Tower Princes didn't die until Richard did, why would he have to take the rap? I realize Henry VII would like to blame Richard, but surely someone would spill the beans! I also don't understand why he would want to hide the truth from Dynis. The rule of primogeniture was universal across Europe, so she should not have been a factor at all in his calculations. It just makes no sense. But I LOVED the book! Rubio is an outstanding writer. She makes the world so immediate and vivid. I definitely will read anything by her I can get my hands on. Thank you for insights into an obscure (for an American) but fascinating period of English history.

slow
I’m not an author , I think about it but I know my stories would be,… stilted, tedious, so I don’t write. As a result, I hesitate to criticize someone else’s actual book that they took the trouble to write, rewrite, research. Lots of 15th century English history in this book, but no clear personalities emerge from the story. I think Richard was the most clearly drawn.

Huh
I wasn’t looking for the end I was so entranced that I didn’t see the page numbers go by! I guess there is more in the next book but maybe not of Denys and Balentine. I really enjoyed their characters

Sometimes what you are looking for isn't what you really want to find. In this historical tale set during the reign of Richard the Third, an orphan raised by Elizabeth Wood, the heroine attempts to solve the mystery of her birth. Perfect for readers who like historicals about kings and queens.

Loved this story of Denys Woodville and her quest to find out her true identity. She marries Valentine Starbury and becomes intricately involved in royal politics, intrigue, and shocking betrayal. An excellent historical romance set in 15th century England.

Lovely book
A book that keeps you coming back... Even if you already know the history, conspiracies, theories, or have your own beliefs. Great close to the throne story.

The Search
This was a very interesting saga of searching for family while others searched for royalty. It's well written historical novel. A few names have been changed..
