Sarah Mayberry is my jam. I love the emotional complexity and depth of connection in her romantic leads. So it's no real surprise that I loved this even though I'm not that interested in the cowboy sub-genre. CJ is awesome. Jesse rocked. Their connection was everything it needed to be and I loved them coming together and learning to trust.

Beyond the central characters, the Carmody family was absolutely fantastic. They had a lovely family dynamic and that interaction with Jesse worked out very we

I missed Sarah Mayberry. It's been too long! This wasn't up to her usual amazing standards in my opinion, but it was cute and fun! All her trademarks are there: an amazing family, bickering, and nice, loveable main characters.

The only quabble I have is the set up for the rest of the series taking up too much times for my taste, and the dreaded insta-love. Hero and heroine meet at a Rodeo where CJ is competing in a traditionally all-male category and has to put up with a LOT of shit from the mal

I'm skimmed a fair amount of this so it's probably not totally fair to rate it, but even skimming it, just not a lot happens. I never connected with the plot too much, but I've been in a slump lately and had trouble focusing on new books so maybe that had something to do with it.

I love books where the heroine isn't afraid to go after her dreams.

Cassidy Jane Cooper knows she's a talented bronc rider and is determined to try out for the pro circuit, even without her family's support. She faces opposition and dirty tricks from some of the other competitors, but refuses to back down. CJ appreciates the kindness shown by Jessie and his family, if only he didn't make her senses hum! She had an uphill battle to fight against the male dominating rodeo world now, what would they

This was a nice decent read where I felt enraged on behalf of the heroine over the patriarchy and the way men treat women (not the hero but others who don't like the h honing in what they think is their territory). The romance is pretty quick and the book isn't as deep as the excellent superromances this author used to write.

I've never read a book by Sarah Mayberry that I didn't enjoy, so it is no surprise that I enjoyed The Cowboy Meets His Match.

I liked our heroine, CJ, very much. She had a lot of heart and determination to take on a sport that is male dominated to the extreme. She had grit and I never felt like she was a dumb little girl trying to do something outside her reach. I also really liked Jesse. I never felt like he was condescending or that he talked down to her. I enjoyed the development of their re

Nobody tells a story quite like Sarah Mayberry and once again, she's delivered a very entertaining read packed full of great characters, an interesting plot and plenty of emotion. plus... it's the Rodeo and who doesn't love hot cowboys? Definitely worth the time!
What a great heroine and what a mostly good dude. I enjoyed this.

There is a wealth of emotions that are weaved throughout this story... determination, perseverance, heartache, heartbreak, joy, elation...throw on top of that misunderstandings, lack of trust, misogynist attitudes...and you have a gripping, engaging, and enjoyable start to a new series. You’ll find yourself going from tears to laughter all within the span of a several of paragraphs. I was impressed with the author’s ability to build so many emotional aspects within one story, and having done it ...more

4 stars. I love Sarah Mayberry. Her characters are great, the relationships between them realistic, and the love stories sweet. Montana ranch rodeo for the win.

The 79th Copper Mountain rodeo has returned to Marietta Montana. The first book in the series is amazing. CJ has her work cut out for her to prove herself in a male dominance career as a saddle bronc rider. It's even harder when she meets charming cowboy and fellow competitor, Jesse. There is no denying their chemistry but can CJ have the best of both worlds.

Loved this book, CJ is such a strong woman in a mostly male dominance career. Loved how she didn't cave in to the other riders. Jesse is

The Cowboy Meets His Match by Sarah Mayberry. Book one in The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo series. A great start to a new series. Great storyline, dialogue and main characters. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't put it down. Look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

It was such a good feeling to have the rodeo return to Marietta, Montana after a year’s absence because of the fire that destroyed the grounds. Now rebuilt, brand new and sporting improvements the Copper Mountain Rodeo returns with one amazing story to kick off this series.

Aside from some specific events, the rodeo is pretty much an all-male, all testosterone filled arena. One trailblazer, only the second woman to break into the all male saddle bronc competition at th

A great read that was every bit a fast paced as I had hoped it would be.
I liked that the female lead was a trailblazer, the first woman to make it into the pro circuit for saddle bronc competitions. Being a woman in a sport that is saturated with men is far from easy but then again, she was well aware of that fact but had set her stall out and was determined that nothing was going to stand in her way. I loved CJ’s determination and fortitude, he had to deal with so much from the guys t

Are you in the mood for a fast-paced cowboy romance? Then look no further than The Cowboy Meets His Match by Sarah Mayberry. This is the first book from the brand new series The 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo, which consists of five books by various authors. This book can be read as a standalone.

After years of hard work and practice, CJ Cooper has qualified for the pro rodeo in the saddle bronc competition. She is one of the first women to compete in this male dominated sport, and as a result she ha

I love that I can count on Sarah Mayberry to deliver feel-good romances. This book really made me feel all the emotions.

CJ is the type of heroine I immediately warm up to and root for when I meet her. She has this quiet strength that I admire, and the mere fact that she's competing in saddle bronc, a male-dominated sport is already amazing. I love that she kept her head down and focused on proving herself as somebody to watch for.

I'm a big fan of how the romance between CJ and Jesse developed.

CJ is a professional saddle bronc rider who is trying to compete in a male dominated sport. She is blazing a trail by being one of the few women to do so but it is not without its drawbacks as most of the other competitors don’t appreciate the work that she done to get there and don’t feel she belongs.

Jesse is one of the competitors in the rodeo that is taking place in his hometown. He has mixed feels about being back as since the death of his parents he is not as close to his family as he would

CJ has something to prove and she has no problem proving it. I mean what could go wrong with a women taking on a bunch of men in an only man sport. Jessie is immediately captivated by CJ and when he gets off on a bad foot now he just needs to make her see he's not all that bad.

CJ had no problem holding her own at all and she also had this softer side to her that you could really relate too. I loved, loved her and Sierra it was seriously like two peas in a pod and more like sisters instead of new

Oh well, I just couldn't ignore on of Sarah Mayberry's new books, so I had to pick it up and give it a try.

The story itself was nice. CJ is challenging the male's world by entering a pro rodeo and being the only female on the male's competition. So yeah, this is also some type of movement type of book, but with some romance, hot scenes and lots of family "trauma".

Jesse, lost his parents in a car accident and him with his other three siblings have dealt with a lot the past decade following the ac

The fight that women still have in entering a male dominant occupation is highlighted in The Cowboy Meets His Match by Sarah Mayberry. However, it is just one of two main plots in the story. Family misunderstanding and miscommunication is just as strong a focus.

I enjoyed this story especially in how CJ Cooper handles herself and the come-uppance that befalls another pig-headed, ill behaving cowboy. It is the relationship between Jesse and his family that caught and held my attention the most. Of
CJ Cooper is one of the first women to qualify as a pro bronc rider and her first competition is in Marietta, Montana. She meets a tall good-looking cowboy, Jesse Carmody who is her main competition but she can 't afford to get distracted or to get a reputation as a buckle bunny.

I would categorise this as a book of two plots. The first, shorter plot is abut CJ's first rodeo and the antagonism she faces from other competitors. The second plot is her insta-love with Jesse and his issues with his f

Smoking hot and sexy as hell, The Cowboy Meets His Match will well and truly satisfy you if you love those sexy small town rodeo stories.
Set in gorgeous Marietta Montana, this is the first book in the multi-author 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo series. The story is fast paced and kept me intrigued throughout. It also takes a nice swipe at mysoginistic men while delivering a blow for women’s rights to be respected, which is something I can easily relate to.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this story and this series very much. This book is about a cowgirl who is competing in an all male race at the Marietta, MT rodeo. CJ is harassed by some of the men she is competing against, especially Dean who believes the saddle bronc competition is only for men. Jesse is very impressed with CJ’s skill and is also attracted. To her. CJ is afraid to have a romantic relationship with someone she is competing against. ...more

A book about a female pro- bronc rider that is written by Sarah Mayberry? You better believe I put that on the top of my TBR and read it as soon as I got my hands on it. I read it in a day and was not at all disappointed. CJ and Jesse were fully fleshed out characters and while their romance was a little sudden for my tastes I still really liked how they interacted. I really enjoyed he romance and family dynamics they both brought to the story but I loved the rodeo scenes and wish there had been ...more

What a perfect book to open the 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo with!

This is one of those books that I have to say tire at my heart strings as much as it also made me want to beat the ever love stuff out of some bronco riders. I love Marietta and this book was like coming home again. Jesse is a rodeo cowboy and we have read about him here and there in other books. I am so happy to finally get to see the inside struggles and gentleman cowboy he can be. Cassidy Jane or CJ oh my word this gal sets the r

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a wonderful book. I truly enjoyed. I appreciated the book being written with a dual POV of the main characters. That helps me to understand the character's actions better. Cassidy Jane (CJ) was a wonderful strong female character that wasn't over the top. Her choice of profession, pro-bronc rider, was a wonderful change-up. It was great to see her struggle against the over-all male dominated sp

3.5 stars - I love Mayberry: her good characters (good in the sense of both well-written and good 'in the heart'), her incredibly likeable romance, the ache she can bring about with her simple internal conflicts, and how damn easy it is to read her writing. All of her books have all of these traits, but this one had a little less of them than my favourites by her do - less ache-inducing, particularly, though the emotional beats absolutely did land for me. But I enjoyed this a lot nonetheless, an ...more

I adore a good Cowboy book and this is what Sarah Mayberry delivers in the first installment of 79th Copper Mountain Rodeo Series.
Cassidy Jane/CJ is a rare breed a female Saddle Bronc rider trying to prove her way in a man's world. When she pulls into her first Pro - Rodeo she meets Jesse Carmody and things just heat up from there.
