An Orphan Girl. A Group of Wolves. A Destined Fate for War.

Don't you ever wish to find where you belong? A place where you can rest your head without worrying about being jumped or your possessions being taken from you? Not like I had much, to say the least.

A pendant, an ancient blade, and a picture of my murdered family were all I had left when I was five years old.

So... you know there are these two reasons for writing?

Like, one is that you write the book so that someday it will be someones favorite. So that you will create a story someone connects with the way you connected with so many great books and you think you know how to write something the people will like or even love and it might even change their day or days or lives.

The second one is writing the book that you want to exist. Like with the quote by Ghandi, instead of being a change you want to b

Mind Blowing

Okay I am loving this childhood into the present writing as it provides so much detail and why things are they say they are through the characters eyes. Harper is amazingly resilient after all she goes through which just makes me love her even more. The addition of the wolves is incredible and the direction the story is going just blew my mind. I was hooked from page one and with an ending like that I definitely need book two. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Review copy kindly provided by the author in exchange for a honest review

It’s been hard waiting for this book ever since it was announced as it paired two things. One of my favourite authors and they were writing about shifters.
I had high expectations for this book as I know the author’s writing and let’s face it wolf shifters are my thing. I can read any type of shifter but wolves are my favourite given the sheer amount out there and some of the most amazing reverse harem / ménages having them.

Much as I usually enjoy Yumoyori's stories, so much of the book was through the perspective of, first, a five-six year old, and then a pre-teen and 16 year old. And that's roughly the first half of the book. I dislike books from a child or teen's perspective, especially when I am expecting an urban fantasy action story. I grew impatient for Harper just to grow up and the story to progress. Too many of the sub-plots were too transparent and when Harper couldn't figure out basic storylines, I was ...more

Harper Blake was five when her world crumbled around her...happy with her mum, dad and big brother until she sees them all murdered in cold blood right in front of her eyes. Her mother pressed the knife into her hands and told her to run from the bad men with guns....she ran with all she had in her little legs. Pop, pop, pop! The loud noises kept scaring her and she kept running....POP! Suddenly she feels a searing pain in her side and sees a hole in her body. What is going on? Even at five she ...more

The last thing that Harper remembered about her former life was her family being murdered and her mother yelling for her to run, to save the family legacy. With only her dagger and a picture, 5-year-old Harper literally runs for her life, runs as fast as she can. But it's not enough. She's shot and goes over a cliff. Presumed dead the little girl is discovered and saved by ....a wolf. She's taken back to Sacred Moon Shelter for Endangered Wolves and eventually, it becomes her home. The sanctuary ...more

OMG I love this book. And if you love RH your going to love this one.
Most important thing to a RH is the love that is shown between the girl and her guys. ANd,this one tells a beautiful story of two friends growing up first.

This book starts off with Harper as a five year older running from being killed after her familys murdered.
A little boy Ian( whos a wolf) finds her and brings her home to his foster parents who end up adopting her.
We then go through the years of her growing up and the relatio

An orphan girl. A group of wolves. A destined fate for war.

If that opening sentence doesn't peak your interest, I don't know what will.

Wolf Tamer is about a girl named Harper who is orphaned after Hunters kill her parents and older brother.
It follows her as she grows up.
The foster homes she has to be a part of.
The insecurities she feels about no one wanting her.
How everything thinks she is crazy because of her "imaginary friend."
Until she is finally able to stay with the one family she feels m
Wolf Tamer is the first book in a new series by Yumoyori Wilson.

A little different from the other books I've read by her, this one takes place in Canada and follows Harper, an orphaned girl adopted by a couple running a wolf sanctuary. But Harper is no ordinary girl, and she soon learns that the wolves she surrounds herself with are a more than they seem as well.

I really enjoyed this story. Harper is a strong character, dealing with PTSD and memory loss from her family's murder at the hands of

This series is definitely going to end up being one of my favorites! We have Harper who’s had a pretty rough start losing her family at such a young age, but she finds new guardians that love her and a best friend, who ends up being the love of her life. I love relationship between Harper and Ian because they started out as best friends and as the story progresses, they start to fall in love and talk about relationship goals!! If you’re a fan of steamy scenes, then you’ll in for a real treat! Th ...more

🐺 Love me some wolves 🐺

I really enjoyed this new series by Yumoyori Wilson. I liked that she is changing it up and adding a wolf shifter series to her growing repertoire. I liked getting the backstory, I know some people didnt like how long the chapters were with the MCs as kids, but I liked it. It made me more invested in the story. I loved seeing the growth in Harper and her time with Ian throughout her childhood. LOVED LOVED LOVED that Yumo kept all the other guys in their wolf form until the

Spoiler free, as always! Let me begin by saying that, while I adore shifter romances, I admit, the wolf shifter trope isn’t always my favorite. I love wolves, and I love shifters, but sometimes it feels repetitive to me, since it’s been done so much. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It started off with a bang, dramatic and emotional, and wasn’t anything like clichéd wolf shifter novels I’ve read, which was SO refreshing. The characters were well rounded and not all-perfect, with realisti ...more

A very intriguing read indeed

I've read a lot of wolf shifter novels and I have to say after a while they all tend to run together with no variety. But this was quite refreshing read. The plot was so different from what I thought it was going to be originally. To follow the character from the age of 5 to 22 has been quite fascinating. As the story unfolds it like a kaleidoscope of layers that all seem to be connected. I have a feeling we haven't even scratched the surface of Harper Blake and I l

Full of ups and downs!
Another hit from Yumoyori Wilson. A great shifter story with so many twists that my head is still spinning. Haper starts the book running for her life and then we get to follow her recovery and the process of finding a new family, we follow her life as a child and teenager years, also her fierce friendship with the "wolves" and before the expected cliffhanger we get to see she finding out that so many things in her life are lies and secrets, but as the brave girl she is i t

What an amazing start to a new series!
This book absolutely freaking rocks, I loved it!
I don’t know how but it seems like each book that I read by Yumoyori Wilson just gets better and better.
There was so many twists and turns and ups and downs in this book that it actually made me dizzy.
I laughed, I cried and I growled in anger, it was a continuous cycle of all those emotions which basically means a emotional roller coaster ride!
But I loved it and I love how Yumoyori Wilson is able to make her

Great start to a new series!

I was hooked from the first chapter! I really enjoyed the flow of the story...I loved the fact that we start Harper’s story at five and get insight at different intervals in her life. I’m not sure I’ve ever read such wonderful character development, you simply feel as if you know her. Can’t wait to uncover some of the secrets that were hinted at in this book, it feels like Harper and her pack have a rough road ahead of them! Read this’re going to love it!

Worth it

I have to admit I put off reading anything by this author for a long time. YW would come up in my Amazon recommended section so often and I ignored it. I don’t know if it was the covers that put me off or the very cliched blurbs that just didn’t grab my attention. How wrong was I. I’m soooo glad I waited and started YW with Wolf Tamer. It was perfect with an amazing amount of character depth and exploration before all the magic got involved. You can bet I’m now going to go back and read

I've been waiting for this story since Yumoyori Wilson announced she was working on it. There's just something about wolf shifters, you know? It was as amazing as I hoped. We meet Harper when she's 5. She has some terrible trials to survive, but she does. She's strong and tough, but her compassion never wavers. She cares for all that surround her, even though they have big secrets! The ending left me hungry for more. It was well written and super steamy, and it keeps you reading straight through ...more

I absolutely love wolf shifter books and this one is no different. Great characters, awesome storyline, different from all of the other shifter books out there. Harper is such an in depth character, so much detail as we watch her grow up through tragedy to thrive. Secrets, hunters, sanctuaries, wolf packs, mates, prophecy with an intriguing story behind it to match. Absolutely Fantastic! So much emotion and so much packed into this page turner! I can't wait to see what is in store for Harper and ...more

Interesting story

🧐 It’s a good story idea, interesting world that could use a bit more fleshing out, and her writing is... variable, we’ll say. She has a tendency towards passive voice, some weird phrasing (which could totally be a Canada/America thing, in most cases), and could use another editing pass (several places she skips important words or doesn’t finish the whole phrase).

Still, I’m interested enough in the story and world to give book 2 a shot when it comes out. I’m hoping it will be a

I loved this this book. It was very slow moving at first, but eventually I got so into it, I just could not put it down.

It’s like no other shifter book I’ve ever read. It’s unique in so many aspects. You get to read about Harper’s past as she lives it, instead of just as memories. You watch the love between her and Ian unfold over years of companionship.

I can’t wait to see how things unfold between Harper and her pack of wolves. Especially the twins!!!

First I will say that I love this author but this book did end up falling a bit short for me. I felt it moved a little too slowly along and I found myself switching to reading other books in between much more often than I would with any of the Author's stories I've read so far. I expected more action and perhaps because of the title, expected more unruly wolves with the mc having a more softer, intimate effect on them. The final chapters were the most exciting which I hope means the next book wi ...more

This is an interesting and exciting start to a new series by the talented Yumoyori Wilson. The start of the book really dragged me in and made me feel for Harper. This book was something else. I really enjoyed reading this! The story was so different than anything I have read before with wolf shifters.
The characters are incredible. Falling in love with the boy who saved her and was always there for her to then realizing some crazy stuff about your was seriously great! I loved how everything starts to unravel and take so many unexpected turns! I really did not imagine the outcome. Am definitely looking forward to the next book!

WOW I loved watching everything through Harper's eyes from the time she was 5 till she was 20. It gave so much more feels to her story. I loved Ian and how he was so protective of her from the start. I loved how she was named the wolf tamer by the group and yet everything that came to light at the end just put everything into place. I can not wait to see what happens in book two, hopefully more answers to some unanswered questions.

When I read the first teaser about this book it had me and I preordered it immediately. I loved it, but why?! Why do I have to wait another 2 months for the next book in this series? It’s torture! But I guess I just have to make do, because unfortunately/ thankfully we’re only humans and not robots who can just hit download for a story.
Thank you Yumoyori for this great story.

So much yes! I loved this story, and I cannot wait to see how things develop for Harper.
As I have come to expect from this author, the main character has had some horrible trauma in her past, and it affects her overall development in the future.
I am looking forward to the development of Harper's relationships to the pack members. I'm curious to see how men are as people, and not just as wolves.
