The world thinks them gods. Only she knows different…

Amber lives in a world full of lies. Within the great city of Olympus, so-called gods and goddesses reside, praised and worshipped by those deemed beneath them. The Children of the Prime, as they’re called, are blessed with wondrous and mysterious powers. Powers that, Amber knows, originate from a very human source…

One day, during the collection ceremony, Amber’s world turns upside own. With her heresy revealed, and her younger sister, Lilly, taken, Amber finds herself on a journey that will change her world forever. Alongside her best friend Jude, she ventures into the heart of the lie, searching for the truth.

A truth that might just destroy her, and everything she holds dear…

The Chosen is the first in a planned series, set within a dystopian future that is unlike anything you’ve read before. For fans of Suzanne Collins, Bella Forrest, and Veronica Roth, prepare to lose yourself in a fantastical world where nothing is quite as it seems.

For those who have following the Enhanced Universe, this is a must-read. This world just got more interesting.

For those who are new to this world, you will not be dissapointed.

I love dystopian worlds, especially when there is a lot discover, and The Children of the Prime is only the beginning for a great new adventure! I've been following the Enhanced Universe for a while, reading the main story, and spin-offs. I thought there was not more to offer, but I was wrong.

I didn't think the author could come up with a brand new story, a new focus for this world, that I would like. I'm very picky when it comes to books, I don't like all stories this author had written, and I already had my favorite characters from the Enhanced series, so I thought there was no need to keep adding new stuff to a world that was already there. However, I was proven wrong, I liked this story, and I will continue it.

I'm not sure how to write about this, but I loved the way the book was written. I mean, yes , it's written in a first point-of-view (a style that I had missed from this author), but what I really mean to say is that the way the character narrates the story is abosulutely entertaining. It's very simple for the reader to imagine what is happenning in the story, and from the very first pages, you are engaged in the story. For those who already know the Enhanced, this is like...perfect! The perfect complement to expanse the universe.

Also, although it is the same world from the previous stories, this is a whole new concept that is very interesting. One that could actually be reality.

And for once, I have nothing negative to say about a story. I liked everything, I enjoyed it. If you start reading it, there's no way to stop. Like I said, the story is smooth, every chapter interesting, and I know that from here things are going to get better!

Started off rather slow, but picked up towards the end. Leaving you to want to continue with the series. Wanting to know more.

This is book one in a series of which I am up to book 5 with book 6 to be released in a month or so. The series starts with a family of four, their 2 daughters are at odds with their beliefs of the God like world leaders to which they must pray. The son has a friend that also shares his reservations about the leaders. The family lives in a rural part of the nation as their duty to the leaders they are required to provide a part of the fruits of their labor. The family are fishing for the living so they provide fresh fish to the official that comes to the village on collection day. The leaders have assorted special powers developed through science experiments many decades ago. Those people who now are not part of leadership might also have special powers but are not aware of them or know how to activate them.

Great first book to a great new series! This series follows after the events in the Enhanced series and the one-off "Enhanced: Awakening". I don't think it's mandatory to read the Enhanced series to understand what's going on, but I definitely recommend doing so to fully appreciate everything that happens in this book. Honestly, I ended up liking the main character of this book, Amber, more than Brie in the Enhanced series! Amber is strong and isn't afraid to think differently than others. She allows herself to give into the powers she knew nothing about and had no control over. I'm excited to see where the next book leads her!

This new series is SO exciting! I cannot wait to see how Amber’s journey progresses! This book is a fantastic addition to the Enhanced Universe. When we first encountered the Children of the Prime on Brie’s journey, I was fascinated by the whole concept of The Awakening and had my fingers crossed that the author would eventually delve deeper into that world. So I’m thrilled to have this series starting! This is definitely a must read for fans of any of the author’s previous works as well as being a fantastic starting point for readers new to this author. I highly recommend this book!

an intresting look at how society works

does it really matter if the prime and their children are gods or just science experiments leaving them with special powers. the point is they have the power to dominate others and so they do. how very human. now she knows she has these powers to will she be able to resist the power she holds over others or will she change things to improve the lives of the ordinary. what would you do and will she be able to save the boy she loves . a good book

Captivating new series

Where do I start, I read this book in one sitting. It is slow at the start and there is not a lot of information divulged about the so called gods. A defiant, sarcastic main character and her ever loyal sidekick embark on a journey that kept me turning the pages. What an ending, seriously I need the next book now. I am a fan of this author's other series and this first book in the new enhanced series does not disappoint.

YOU WON'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN!!

I am completely enthralled by the Enhanced Universe! I simply can't get enough. Every character comes alive as you experience their struggled and triumphs as if you are living within the universe yourself. A 5 star rating doesn't give this book or any of the others in The Enhanced Universe series justice. I want more!! I NEED MORE!! Counting the days until the next book is released.👍👍👍

I love these books!!

Ok, I've read hundred of books the last couple of years and this is the first one I'm reviewing. This book is fantastic. Not just this one, but all of the Enhanced Series.....really, all of TC Edge's books. Yes, I've read them all. You should go now and read all of them as well. I feel like a super fan, but, oh well. Why are you still reading this?!?! Go find the next TC Edge book to read!!

I have the omnibus edition of this series but wanted to say that book one is a great start. Great characters fit well into this dystopian story of those in power and those who are forced or brainwashed into service.

It's well-written and fast-paced, and because of the first-person narrative, there are thoughts and feelings that give it depth. There are a number of grammatical issues but that didn't stop my enjoyment.

Recommended.

Gonna be a great series!

So far so good. Amber has lived her whole life in the Fringe, and doesn't adhere to the same beliefs as all the other devotees. She knows that they are just enhanced people, not gods. Then, she becomes one of them, while trying to get her sister back from Olympus. This author is very talented. I like this spinoff so far, and have enjoyed the whole enhanced series immensely. It's unique and well written

Delicious book!

I am so happy to have discovered this author. The worlds he depicts are vivid and realistic. He does not shy away from harsh reality, and his characters are bold and complex. I am eagerly looking forward to more from this author! Bravo!

Another great read!

Another great book by TC Edge. I lived getting a look at another community in this enhanced universe. Can't wait to see what happens if Amber meets Brie and Kira!

Nice!

The pace of the book is very slow moving. The book builds the realm for which the characters exist. Once the environment is established, it becomes intriguing. Especially the great cliffhanger ending. Now I'm looking forward to the next book.

Cliff hanger

The book was good and well written, except I hate cliff hangers. Especially when the next book has not been written yet.

The Chosen Delivers

This novel grabbed me from the first page. The characters are interesting and the story line will keep you turning the pages. As a much older reader of Young Adult literature T.C. Edge satisfies my appetite as well

Boring and predictable

Main character is so naive and stupid. Her arrogance is as big as her luck. Please give her some intelligence in next books

This whole Enhanced series is fabulous. More wonderful characters to add to the mix, with more tyrants submitting the masses. Excellent!

Interesting and engaging to read. I read the whole book on my flight from Florida to Seattle and had a few hours left over. I could not download the next book in the series on the plane until I got home. I liked the characters and it was well written.
