Everything happens for a reason. Even a curse...

Finneas O'Malley is not a man built for love. He could never love a woman more than he loves the adventure and danger of a life at sea, the freedom to chase the wind wherever it takes him. The lure of a foreign land, the danger of a battle at sea, the exotic lasses he beds... how could any man turn away from that?

But when Fin

This was a very interesting take on an old story idea of the frog and the prince. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Finn and his adventures and watching him through the frog and the man phases. This is not a usual book for me but I am glad I got out of my comfort zone. ~Helen

This was my first Kim Deister story and I'm impressed. I really enjoyed her reimagining of the frog prince. I thought the plot was fresh, interesting, and kept me turning pages. Being of Irish descent, I especially liked the inclusion of Celtic myths and legends...I felt right at home! "One Stormy Night" is an enjoyable read and I plan to check out the others in the series. Thanks, Kim!

One Stormy Night is the prequel to Kissing Frogs and a book you definitely need to read. The blurb recommends that you read Kissing Frogs first, but I feel you can read them in either order as they compliment each other so well and neither ruins the story of the other.

In this book, we get to know Finn and his life before Cassidy. We learn about his life as a pirate captain and the decision he made, against his better judgement, that led to him being cursed by Siofra and becoming a frog. Then we

Prequel to kissing frogs....

I had read kissing frogs ( book 1 ) and was absolutely delighted to see that there would be a prequel. The main focus and perspective in this book is that off Finn o’Malley Sea captain, part time pirate and all round ladies man.

The life of a sailor in the 1600’s is risky... so after long periods at sea... coming to dry land, the priorities are food, beer and women, not necessarily in that order. Blessed with good looks and confidence, Finn does not struggle with the

It was an interesting ride meeting and riding along on the shenanigans of Finn. He moves in and out of time as a frog and man learning life lessons. It's sometimes funny as he gets his feel for the time he's been dropped into and then back to being a frog. The witch is relentless and insist he needs to learn how to treat women. It's fast moving and full of excitement and is a really good story and then towards the end it kinda gets repetitive but it's only because you're getting his side. All is ...more

I am so glad to get to meet Finn, prior to being a frog. "One Stormy Night" gives us fans a chance to get more background on who Finn was some 300+ years ago and what led him on the path to end up being a frog for most of his life. We learn why Siofra cursed him. We knew he was a rake but all of that led him to Cassidy.

This was a very intricate story with all of the different lessons. I loved the flow of the story and how the language of the dialogue was of the time that he was in. The name dro

I was born and raised in a tiny town in the wilds of northern New York, a pretty, little college town called Potsdam. I grew up in a family of lawyers and teachers and bucked all the traditions. Before becoming a writer, I spent a lot of years wearing combat boots in the US Army. I spent most of my time in boots working as a Signals Intelligence Analyst (no jokes!) and a linguist. I also worked as ...more
