This is the first book I've read by Jennifer Windrow and It won't be the last. The characters are fantastic and the storyline unbelievable! For me the characters make the story. These characters you can love and hate. There are some great ones!
I found out this is book two in the A Redeeming Cupid series. I will definitely be finding the first book Struck by Eros! Definitely a must read!

Well, that was different...

Gia is getting married to her long-time crush. After a painful altercation with an ex-boyfriend left her with scars, literally and figuratively, she's finally ready for her happily-ever-after with Christopher. She doesn't want anything to ruin her perfect day and uses her mysterious power of song to calm herself after she becomes aware of a few glitches in her ceremony.

Unfortunately, Gia's ride into the sunse

The book starts of with Gia on her wedding day. She is acting a little bridezilla-ish wanting everything to be perfect. The wedding goes off well with only a few minor blips and it is time for pictures and the reception. Gia runs into an old acquaintance who warns Gia that Gia's old boyfriend has been released on parole. Gia's ex- was psychotic and held Gia prisoner for three days and carved up her body including carving his name on her back. She testified and he was sent to jail swearing reven ...more
I had not read Jen Windrow before, and a chance to read an ARC of this book for a fair review came to me thru another author's newsletter. The blurb sounded interesting to me, love me all troupes of here I am.
I liked it! I'd rate it a solid 3.5 a-girl-can't-catch-a-break stars.
Let me explain by ticking off the vitals: solid editing, decent plot arch (not meandering or pointless...hate that!), lots of action keeping the story moving. This story lies mainly in the dark under belly of a Ti

I voluntarily reviewed this book and I have not been compensated in any way.

Gia Adler is marrying her soul mate but as they take the wedding photos her ex-boyfriend gives her the kind of present of nightmares as he shoots her new husband in the chest and puts him into a coma. As she takes a short break to clear her head life gets so much worse for Gia when she is abducted and taken into an underground world which is the equivalent of hell with drugs, death prostitution and the promise that she i

I opened this book expecting a fairly straight-forward romance with some paranormal elements, much like the first book in the series. What I discovered was an unexpectedly gripping psychological thriller that held me in thrall until the very last words. The myth behind this is darker, so obviously the story itself will be too. The author has handled her subject matter with compassion, tact, and skill while telling this story of survival. I appreciate that none of the main characters are 100% sai ...more

This was a really intriguing story. Starts off in one direction and before you know it the darkness has descended into the brinks of Hell on earth. Never would Gia have believed this is where she would be. Through sheer will, a hypnotic voice, a spirit, and so much more she will have to use everything in her power to make it through. Lots going on in this fast paced read which starts off with a bang and continues to deliver.

My first read of this author and I really enjoyed the way she delivered

What an intriguing and exceptional story this was to read; it kept me totally enthralled throughout and had lots of interesting facets to make it enjoyable. It has been a life-long dream of Gia’s to marry Christopher Anastas. While he is San Diego’s most eligible bachelor and his name is associated with money, power and success, Gia is marrying him because she has loved him since she was 6-years old; now finally she would be safe and protected. RJ is coming after Gia; she is the reason he has sp ...more

Omg, wow this book had me in tears several times. What goes around comes around and if it isn't nipped in the bud it will just continue on with the cycle. I loved the HEA ending of this book and can not wait to see what is in store for the next book of the series. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

I was enchanted from the first chapter to the last! Gia's journey is enchanting and captivating - an all around five star read!! Every new turn and twist within the tunnels will leave you tormented and hopeful at the same time. (kind of like watching a tennis match)

Was honestly, one of the few times where even though I felt like I was missing some of the stories/character's background information; and had more questions than a 2-year-old, I did not feel cheated.
I went into this book kind of blin

True beauty doesn't just happen...
A person must fight their way through the worst. Then they grow and blossom. True depth of character is born of that strife. For survivors have true appreciation of what is valuable. Understanding and ability to look beyond themselves. Overcoming being victimized by actions of long ago. These things create a truly beautiful individual.

An Interesting story starts out with a wedding and a girl who is really into herself and is marrying her prince charming. Only her past comes to the wedding as well, the man that literally left his mark on her, as in scars that will never go away. You can really see the Greek myth in this book, it reminded me of a Greek myth where a guy went into the underworld and brought his lover back. Mostly how I remembered it was because of Chris, her husband that got shot and was in a coma, kept telling h ...more

This book was VERY interesting. It took a normal wedding and turned it into an over-the-top dramatic (for the wrong reasons) event that was just the beginning of a journey through Hell. Gia and Christopher had just gotten married when it all comes a'tumblin' down. Her ex, RJ, is out of prison and apparently back for revenge...and that is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't express much about this story without giving out spoilers galore, but what I can say is that a twist and turn reveals more ...more

I received a free ARC for a honest review...This is the second book in the series and from the start I felt as if I was missing something... if I had read Struck by Eros before I read Pierced by Venom it may have cleared some things up for me...

Over all it was a very well written book that was fast paced and reads more like romantic suspense than PNR... I liked it and I would read more from this author...I don't like to include spoilers in my reviews ...All I can say it is well worth a read, you
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*

I read book one not too long ago and I loved it. Book two is good in it's own way but not as good as book 1. In fact, I didn't even realize that Grayson was the same character from book 1 until the epilogue. Cupid didn't seem to be as much a part of the story this time. Gia was ok but I didn't care for her much at the beginning of the book. I wish the main characters had been more likable and that Cupid was more a part of the story. Other than that, th

Love the characters and how everything plays out. The back story that you learn along the journey makes everything crystal clear as to why things are happening. Soul mates and true love win out over the tunnels of hell.

More than an entertaining read
A good read! This story grabbed me and is one that will stay with me. It's ultimately a life lesson story that extends into realty, along with the strong love story. The characters aren't perfect people -- none of them. Selfish actions have consequences and bad things happen....but Love conquers all. Highly recommend! Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Gia thought she was walking down the aisle into the perfect life, but her ex had other plans. This book started out with such a compelling bang.I was hooked immediately. But as the story progresses it dragged for me a bit. If this had been 50 pages shorter It would have been a solid 4 stars. But the middle section dragged a bit and slowed the great, fast pace of the beginning. Still a worth while read. I didn't get anything I would call fantasy but there was a paranormal element. I was disappoin ...more

Gia, Chris, and Raymond. Wow, it shows what can happen in life when someone is not excepted. Gia getting married, her husband getting shot during wedding pictures. What Gia's ex-boyfriend does to her and Chris. What secrets come out thru the tunnel of hell. The ending was good. Since this was the first book I read in this series, I'm a little confused on the Epilogue. Will probably need to read the first one to understand it. Psyche and I. Who is I? We know they are Cupids. I chose to receive a free copy and voluntarily review this book.

This is the first book I've read by Jenn Windrow, I must say it was somewhat confusing at the beginning, maybe I need to read the first book. I wasn't sure if I liked Gia's attitude, but I persevered and was pleasantly surprised by her evolution.

Gia is having her dream wedding when tragedy strikes, her new husband is shot. Kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend RJ she needs to find a way to save her husband who is trapped in a coma. Taken t

Karma Comes Back

The story was way out there in a place the I did not understand at first. Sins of the parent come back to haunt the children.

The weird thing about this story is if you believe in the possibility of the soul seeking out the living then this story line could happen in this world today. It is a story of history repeating itself, jealousy, anger, diva behavior, a touch of insanity, conceit and pride. Prideful but weak men that love insecure petty women.

There are lessons to be learned

Short review. Mixed feelings. The second book in the Redeeming Cupid series that left me feeling like I wish I had skipped this book. It's not that it isn't a good book just not an enjoyable book, the first book was more light and had angst but was an enjoyable read. This one is more on the angst depressing dark side, after her new husband Christopher is shot and put into a coma she is kidnapped once again by her ex-boyfriend who she testified against for kidnapping or craving up her body years ...more

This is the first book I've read by this author but it definitely won't be the last. I loved it and it left me wanting more. They say revenge is a dish best served cold but sometimes revenge backfires. You see a small influence of Greek Gods in this and I can't wait to see what the interaction may be in later books. You feel sorry for Raymond at the end and understand that children are sometimes the unwitting victim in the world of adults. I voluntarily read this book for an honest review.

Award winning author of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Vampires, Greek gods, and a bit of Freak Show fun for everyone.

Jenn Windrow loves characters who have a pinch of spunk, a dash of attitude, and a large dollop of sex appeal. Top it all off with a huge heaping helping of snark, and you’ve got the ingredients for the kind of fast paced stories she loves to read and write. Home is a suburb
