This was a fun, quick, second-chance romance. It's the second gay superhero story I've read recently and I do believe the world needs more of them!
I enjoyed the hero/anti-hero storyline between Crimson Force and Shadow Tech, and that it was a second chance romance between their alter-egos, Tristan and Aiden.
Crimson Force may be the "hero" of the story, but Shadow Tech was out there doing good work too, although some might not agree.
Valentine's Day Hero is the first in the Heartthrob Heroes
Free short m/m hero romance

For a free book off the author's website, this story was cute. It's quick and short so don't expect much depth or world development. In fact, the real "supervillain" is outwitted in minutes and the real focus of the book ends up being the MCs' stubborn refusal to accept each other's idea of justice. This story struck me as cute. Both main characters wanted the best for people. One of them was just rigid in his principles. I found a little bit of it confusing like how the director seemed to actually know who they were as children. Also, how did the hero keep his abilities hidden as a child if he wasn’t raised that way. I guess some things needed explanation to me if they both went to a youth center as children and didn’t seem to have family per se. I would still rate it at 4.5 stars tho
