I was very excited to get my hands on the next book in the Redclaw Security series after reading The Panther’s Lost Princess. I was looking forward to reading a hot paranormal romance but I found that in addition to the swoony-ness of Ghost of a Chance I really liked the characters! Sarah Atwell had a tightly controlled life and I was definitely having some serious head conversations with her in the first chapter. Mainly for her to see that the guy next to her was a total i

Even from the grave, Sarah’s feisty grandmother was causing a stir. June Atwell had her own reasons for not leaving her multimillion dollar horse farm to her money-hungry son and daughter-in-law. Leaving it to her granddaughter, Sarah, June was sure to leave several caveats to the inheritance, which, if not followed would result in the entire place going to her trainer, Casey Barnes. Will fur fly before all is resolved?

As a brutal winter storm nails the farm, Casey and Sarah are forced to work

“Sometimes I think I’m still stuck in the events of that summer.”

Ghost of a Chance is the second book in the Redclaw Security Series by McKenna Dean. Why have I not heard of this author, or this amazing series before now? Something this good should be on every paranormal/shifter romance reader’s ‘must read’ list. I think that even people who don’t normally choose paranormal stories, would like what they find between the covers of this book. I am so glad that I stumbled across this book,

I’ve read one or two shifter romances recently, finding myself increasingly irritated with the genre. I’m getting to the point where I can’t finish them. I just don’t get the attraction of ‘alpha males’ who are arsehole jerks whom any woman with an atom of self-respect would kick to the kerb in a heartbeat, or of ‘heroines’ who turn into puddles of hormonal goo at the arsehole’s merest touch and willingly submit to his control. Having sex under those conditions is of very, very dubious consent – ...more

What a lovely mix of a rural and paranormal setting, suspense and bad guys, and lots of romance to stir things along to give the reader a freshness not often found these days.

The author also managed to handle a damaged hero with finesse. I forgot he had a physical handicap because the person he was, the attitude he had, took up all my attention. I loved his character; the blend of vulnerability at times, and strength at other times, drew us in and gave a sensitive insight into the way

This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the last word. I enjoyed how this author's writing style is such that she can pull me in from the beginning and keep me engaged until the end. I enjoyed the characters and the twists and turns that they took me on. They are loveable and connectable, they made me feel as if I was right there with them. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I really like the Redclaw universe and the world building. I really liked the pacing, the romance, the mystery. The story was set up very quickly, which I love, and I was emotionally invested in only two chapters! I loved the heroine, Sarah, and was rooting for her from the start. I really identified with a lot of her struggles. And of course, I fell a little in love with the hero myself!

I'm always a sucker for a romance story with MORE happening and this book did not

Ghost of a Chance (Redclaw Security Book 2)
By: McKenna Dean
5 out of 5 stars

The story Ghost of a Chance (Redclaw Security Book 2) by McKenna Dean is a paranormal romance book. It is the first story that I have read by the author and I absolutely loved it. I quickly found myself getting lost in the pages and not wanting to put the book down. I loved reading about the characters of Sarah Atwell and Casey Barnes. Sarah is a woman who is beautiful, smart, and caring. She has found herself completely
Ghost of a Chance (Redclaw Security #2) by McKenna Dean was a entertaining, light heart shifter romance, that has me hooked from start to finish. ,

My first read by this author I didn't know what to expect. This book had all the cheesy goodness I loved, mixed in with good character development and a surprised mystery that even I didn't see coming, made this book more than entertaining, it made it fun, emotional and down right amazing.

I have to say, this book hooked me almost right away. Right fr

I just love the Redclaw Security Series by McKenna Dean! I fell in love with this series after reading the first book The Panther’s Lost Princess. The concept of this shifter series is just fabulous. Most shifter books separate the animals which lead them to fight each other's clan. For example, wolf shifter vs. lion shifters. Although the Redclaw clan is made up of all different types of shifters.

Once again a shifter story I really enjoyed because it does not have the Alpha male's inner wolf screaming, "Mine, mine, mine!" for most of the book. In fact Casey's wolf seemed to have a fun sense of humor once we see him. Casey and Sarah get to know each other as they are trapped by a snowstorm at Sarah's aunt's horse farm. When odd and then dangerous "accidents" keep happening, they learn to trust and depend on the other. Sarah has been terrified of her "otherness" and has kept hidden for yea ...more

This is one those books that I want more. This is book 2 of a series and the first one I've read - I was able to jump right into it with no problem and I want MORE.

This is also the first book I've read by this author and will be looking in their backlist to read the others about this agency. There must be a whole world built about them, right?

GHOST OF A CHANCE is a suspense, shifter, romance that has so much going for it. The author writes a descriptive tale and I was able to visualize most of

This is the second book in the Redclaw Security series from McKenna Dean, and my very first read from her. I didn’t have any issue reading this as a standalone other than I am sad that I hadn’t had the experience of reading the first book yet! I will be remedying the situation as soon as possible! I may just be one-clicking all that is available from Dean as well! Before I jump too much into the book, can I just say how delicious this cover is? Ghost of a Chance is a delightful standalone novel in McKenna Dean’s Redclaw security series. Sarah Atwell could not have distanced herself further from her horse riding past. After the accident she swore of horses and her grandmother’s farm, throwing herself instead into a world of IT and small cubicle offices. She buried her past, along with her family’s curse. That is until it all comes back again when her grandmother gives Sarah the farm in her will, along with a set of conditions. Condition ...more

I don’t know why I don’t read more shifter stories. Every time I do read one I am reminded how much I actually love shifters. Bears, wolves, cougars, eagles, foxes, dragons, even shape shifters I love them all.

Ghost of a Chance is about Sarah, who doesn’t even know how awesome and amazing her own secret really is. She was raised that NO ONE must know. Not even the rest of her own family. She grows up confused and feeling unloved. When her Gram passes away and leaves her the farm things really h

Ghost of a Chance- McKenna Dean

Ghost of a Chance by McKenna Dean is a great paranormal read! It’s the second book in the Redclaw Security series and it’s also my first book by this author so I can assure you that it can be read as a standalone as I was easily able to follow along having not read the first one. From the very start I was hooked, I couldn’t wait to find out all about Casey and Sarah, and I was not disappointed in the slightest.

I really, really enjoyed this one. It's second in Dean's Redclaw Security 'verse, though I don't think it's necessary to read the books in order. So far, at least. Still, you'll really be missing out if you don't read this entire series. Sarah is such a strong character with a difficult past. She hides herself, because her parents and her boyfriend would prefer her do so. She's trying to make a relationship work with a man she's too good far. She used to be closed to her grandmother, and is taki ...more

Ghost of a Chance is book two in the Redclaw Security series ny McKenna Dean. I have not read this author's work before and was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly entertained by this story. I loved the character's and the diversity between the main two characters. Yet they seemed to kakes these differences work beautifully together.

After inheriting her grandmother's horse farm, she and Casey get snowed in. She's way out of her depth and cannot see her future at the farm. Casey is no stranger t

I didn’t realize that this was part two in the Redclaw Security Series so it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed the book so I’m absolutely going to go back and read part one. I adored the main characters, especially Sarah Atwell. I was thrilled to see her grow and get comfortable in her own skin. In the beginning, everyone kind of walks all over her, disrespecting her as if her opinion doesn’t matter. It frustrated me to no end. Get

Ghost of a Chance (Redclaw Security Book 2) By McKenna Dean. Wow am I glad I picked up this story! I sometimes find it hard to sink into a paranormal type book unless I’m really in the mood for it, but this story threw that right out the window. I just absolutely adore shifter books! This was just the book to fill that spot and I was hooked
from page one. The author does a great job of setting up the story and drawing it out. I was particularly hooked by the way that the author brought the romance in subtly and that that it was the secondary story line to the book.

The chemistry between Sarah and Casey is just sizzling. The way in which the drama unfolds around them and between them is so uniqu

This story was seriously depressing. Sarah character was just sad. She has no backbone and let others decide what was best her. I couldn’t be with someone for the sake of not being lonely. Her whole life was a series of do not and can not. Of being constantly let down by the ones that are suppose to have your back. She knew no love so any future relationships were already doomed. I wish we had more time with her Gran she seemed like good people. Casey w

Ghost of a Chance is the second book of the Redclaw Security books by McKenna Dean. Even though this is the second book you do not have to read the first one as this can be a standalone story. As the story progresses the “incident” gets mentioned making you realize you still don’t know what happened and wanting more. Different but in a Great Way

The story of Sarah and Casey is definitely different from my usual reads. Having a hero with a permanent injury was a nice change from the perfect romance hunks abounding in many books out there. I also adored Sarah's curvy body and retro style. This was a well written shifter story, not too predictable with a great side of believable romance and storyline between the two characters. Hot and romantic read!
