The wonderful book, The Akashic Experience: Science and the Cosmic Memory Field, by Ervin Laszlo, implies that everything nonlocal is coming from the Akashic Records. Although I greatly admire the work of Ervin Laszlo, I am not in agreement that everything nonlocal is coming from the Akashic Records. It is the other way around; creation is producing the events that are later recorded in the Akashic Records. It is impossible for something that does not exist to be created in the Akashic Records. If the “Records” were the source, then who or what is producing the data? In fact, consciousness is producing the local and nonlocal information; the Akashic Records are the repository of that activity. (c)

Outright bad. borderline cultish.
Has some transphobic views such as: "to enter the Akashic Records you must use your government name otherwise it won't work”. This book screams marketing, every other page is mentioning other books and platforms, of the author, to go for additional and more in depth information. Also the word "people” exists to reference a group of more than one person....
This book, in my eyes, screams spiritual psychosis. A lot of contradictory information. Mentions that "truth" doesn't exist but then proceeds to explain and give "examples" of what truth is as we already know it is. Mentions that we need to abandon karma and that our past doesn't matter at all but then proceeds to have a section regarding past life work... A lot of cherry picking of different cultures and religions/faiths to fit in better in the narrative of the book. I don't recommend this to anyone. I recognize that there might be some veracity to some of the things and this concept that are mentioned in the book, but using this one as a reference is a no go.
As a very open-minded and spiritual person myself |had a very icky and off-putting feelling about this book...

I wanted to like this book, but I had some struggles with the material.
The first is a problem only because I had a galley. I understand that the publisher doesn’t want reviewers sharing their work prematurely, but it is MASSIVELY distracting to read a book with “for review only” watermarked onto every page.
The second is that what little I got through seemed to be a promotion for the author’s classes on how to access the records. I don’t mind self-referencing in nonfiction (“to learn more on X subject, read my book Y”) when it’s relevant to the subject; but when you say things like “which you can learn about if you take [my classes] or join [my group] on [my website]”, it comes off less like an instruction manual and more like a flyer for your work outside your books. If the first rule of writing an academic paper is to not believe any websites that are trying to sell you something, then why would I want to learn about a topic from a book that appears to be trying to sell me something?
I finally gave up around the time the author ventured into what I call “the Frou-Frou Zone”. (Or “the New Agey Bullshit Zone”, if you don’t mind a little profanity.) When the author starts yapping about how your higher self is in the fifth dimension and the akashic records are in the eleventh (WHAT?!), it’s time to put the book down and find another reference on the topic. Being Pagan might mean that I have quite an open mind; but I’m also a Capricorn—my skepticism is high and my tolerance for bullshit is low.

I wanted to know what the Akashic Records are and I'm not sure I'm more advanced now.
This book was rather repetitive and unclear. There were a lot of demands, like things we must do to access something that is apparently open to everyone. If it is opened to everyone: Why is there a protocol in place to gain access? Who figured it out in the first place? Is it the only method and why? Why does it seems that one need to hold a particular set of believes and attitude to access it?
It makes no sense.
The opening prayer was also strange as it mention "you" and we have no idea who that person is. It got me confused.
The exercises seem to be a bit out of order too. Why do you do an exercise with the record keepers first if you need to do a 45 day long practice with your higher self to be able to access the records? It's very weird.
The book also sound a lot like self promotion and the chapter about clients and what to do with them seems out of place. If this is to meet YOUR record keepers and YOUR soul growth why is it going on at length talking about the marketed side of it.

The Library of Knowledge
I held a curiosity around the Akashic Library of infinite knowledge & chose this book as my first to read. The idea of learning to access such records is indeed appealing.
Instinctually, there is something about the idea of the river of knowledge, universal oneness, the Akashic Records and alike that seem very plausible to me.
There were tid bits in the book I enjoyed. I guess other components that were not akin to my beliefs as it imposed 'You must do' statements. I understand there is a standardized practice in the way people now train / teach / ritually access the records, but a lot of this type of structure (in my opinion only) is overlaid with human ideals, human fears, human control.

This book was just okay. I saw Maureen St. Germain on Dr. Bernard Beitman's YouTube channel. She's lovely and very evolved. However, the book had a few too many ads for her other books in it. I felt like I had to buy more books in order to get the full story on the Akashic Records. Also, Ms. St. Germain seems to have her own "society," or some such thing, that requires allegiance to her/their methods.
I had already read a book by another author who gave explicit instructions on entering and exiting the Akashic records. I tried doing it a few times with success and some good answers I was seeking. Then I got sidetracked. I want to get back in there now.
This review is for my own purposes to remember my impression of this book.

I absolutely wanted to finish this book. I absolutely could not. It was pure gobbledygook. Like literally sentences didn’t make sense. It was word salad which is the worst kind of salad in the world.

I found the writing to be difficult to follow. The author kept referring to her previous books for the pages I had read. I stopped reading about one-quarter of the book.

If you're open to this topic, this is an excellent primer. It provides help info about what the records are (and aren't) and exercises. There are also accounts of the author's experiences and others which provide some context and build interest. I enjoyed the add'l info from "above" about there being no judgement or karma, etc. Nicely done.
