Το «Ψυχορρέον Πυρ» είναι µία ανθολογία εικοσιπέντε διηγηµάτων µικρού και µεγάλου µήκους.

Πρόκειται για διηγήματα γεννημένα στο φως και στο σκοτάδι, γραμμένα στις υψηλότερες κορυφές αλλά και στις βαθύτερες χαράδρες των τελευταίων δέκα ετών μου.

Οι λόγοι συγγραφής τους υπήρξαν πολλοί και διαφορετικοί – από ασκήσεις ύφους και προσωπικές βυθοµετρήσεις, µέχρι µία δίψα να δημιουργήσω νέους χαρακτήρες και νέες ιστορίες, µέσα σε κόσµους που όλα αυτά τα χρόνια υπάρχουν στο µυαλό µου, και που θέλω να αποτυπώσω στο χαρτί. Τα διηγήματα αυτά έχουν κοινά θέματα αλλά διαπερνούν είδη, αφορούν πολλαπλούς κόσμους και εποχές, η ακολουθία τους είναι ανορθόδοξη.

Συνεπώς, υπάρχει ένας βαθµός δυσκολίας στην ανάγνωση του βιβλίου αυτού.

Το «Ψυχορρέον Πυρ» είναι η πρώτη κυκλοφορία της ΧΘΩΝ, και αφού ολοκληρώθηκε με προσωπική μου ευθύνη, είμαι βέβαιος πως θα ανταμείψει κάθε προσεκτικό αναγνώστη.

I received this book in Kindle format as a result of a Goodreads giveaway. This book is a collection of short stories, some are related and some are not. Most of the stories are fantasy, a la Lord of the Rings. I enjoyed the several stories about Ghidorrak, which oddly progressed backward in time. I also liked the last story in the book, which told of a battle to take and then regain a mythical city. I'm not usually a fan of short stories, and fantasy is not my genre of choice, but overall it was a good read and most of the stories had interesting characters and events.

Lygkas is a professional level writer, and you can see it in his stories and writing style. A lot better than many others, in fact.
The collection of short stories wasn't for me. I wanted more of the 'Dragonhunter' story. In fact I liked it so much I would have read this story expanded into a novel. Of course, many of these short stories are rooted in Greek Myths, and Lygkas is Greek and has a deep understanding of his cultural mythology.

My wish is to see Lygkas write a full length story like Dragonhunter. He's very good.

Soulflowing Fire contains a collection of short stories that capture your attention to the end. Each story is unique with emotive language that makes the tale relatable at a human level. An engaging text with such amazing imagery.
