Keith has taken a rather intellectual approach to the ordinary crime thriller. Providing very detailed scene-setting, the pace of the story is far from frenetic. The dialog is abundant and actions are described in detail. The plot keeps twisting and turning, the protagonist, Adam Knight, is not the only one trying to figure out who is messing with his life. Adam does a fair amount of traveling and those scenes are captured very nicely as well.
Amazon has it listed as a medical mystery, but that

Magic Bullets is a fascinating read about crime thriller specifically in the medical department. The story shows that a researcher's life could be a difficult one with little pay, threat of stealing of work, and also conspiracy in the personal life. It makes life dangerous and untrustworthy. Adam the protagonist had lived a difficult life as a growing up person. He was an orphan who spent much of his time in foster homes and orphanages, yet, his brilliant academic skills sees him working as a re ...more

Magic Bullets: The Perfect Medicine by Keith Jahans is not your typical crime fiction. Jahans has an interesting background and this is not his first writing endeavor, however it is one that has been in development for quite a while. With a medical slant, the book takes on a more serious tone, one that sets the stage for plenty of action and intrigue. Adam Knight is the protagonist, a microbiologist, and as such takes the brunt of the bad stuff that happens in this fast paced novel. Firstly, he ...more

In Magic Bullets: The Perfect Medicine we find Adam Knight fighting with forces that are recognizable and some that are not. He travels around to find the answers he needs for medical research and realizes he is just a moving target. In the mists of this he falls in love, but some love is more dangerous than others. And fathers can be very protective of their assets.

I found Keith Jahans an interesting author. Magic Bullets: The Perfect Medicine just touches on the medical field and majors on the

Adam Knight, a hero in the James Bond mould, has to choose between his own discovery and the health of people who might trust in a new antibiotic. Action packed, with a romantic element and realistic dialogue, this is a book that will not only appeal to fans of crime stories. An enjoyable thriller.
