*I originally read and reviewed this novella when it was first released in the Mists & Moonrise anthology *
Evander's people are starving so he accepts a bride from England sight unseen as her father has offered him an outrageous dowry to marry her. Diana has been imprisoned by her father for refusing to marry, she manages to escape only to be chased by Evander. He catches up with her in the cave at St. Agnes and tells her that they are to marry and return to Scotland. She of course refuses, leaving Evander no choice but to drug her (and her two pet wolves).
They travel back to Scotland and Diana begins to realize how wrong she was about Evander. They marry as soon as they reach his castle, but Diana is not ready to share all her secrets with Evander and tries to keep him at arms length, but the more she gets to know him, the more she admires him. Once Diana admits to herself, that she is in love with him, she takes the ultimate leap of faith and shares her darkest secret. Evander is all you could want in a hero - I loved him!
But just as it seems like these two are destined for a HEA, when an unexpected twist threatens to tear them apart.
This is a well written, emotional, steamy novella with wonderful characters and a really sweet ending.

This book is extremely well written and very emotional. The story sucked me in right from the start in a way I haven't been sucked in in a long time. The hero and heroine have such compassion and are so well written that you just can't stop wishing for their happy ending. The historical facts are so detailed that I couldn't get enough of it. If there had been a higher rating than five stars - this book would have gotten it! I highly recommend this book to all historical romance lovers!

I have read this book like four times in a row and I love it so much!! The characters are amazing and it is just oh so good!! I will reread in the future again!!

I make no bones about liking the author’s books, she draws you in from the first page & keeps you enthralled all the way through & then leaves you gasping for more. This isn’t a long book but the story flows effortlessly & the characterisations are so very good. Evander is sigh worthy, very patient, caring & loveable. Diana is strong, defiant but longs to be loved. Throw in two wolves, a dog & a horrid villain to make this novella ‘unputdownable’

I am just sitting here with my heart full as I turned that last page. There was so much emotion and heart in this story of two souls who where meant for each other although neither knew it. Diana, the Earl of Cronwall's daughter is almost broken inside. Her father has been trying to marry her off and with each refusal he has now locked her away. Evander has come to take her as his bride, needing to obtain her dowry in order to feed his starving people in Scotland. He is such a kind man and has suffered his own losses and sorrow. Diana had to be named for the huntress of legend, with her two wolves Hera and Zeus who are her constant companions. She has an inner strength but needs love so badly.
Beautifully written with so much longing and love, this story will stay with me for awhile. Madeline Martin has written another great tale as only she can do, with her wonderful prose and strong characters that melt the heart.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this short but sweet story of Diana and Evander. She is a headstrong, woman who can't be held down. She had a hard life or so she thought until meeting her soon-to-be husband. Evander is caring and very aware of her fear of being kept and loved. Although I do wish it were a longer story, I thought the story played out very well with all of the feelings involved. I could feel Diana's hesitation, fear, hate and love. I am glad she eventually let her walk down in order to feel things she had not felt before and what woman wouldn't love a man like Evander. I always love reading stories written by Madeline Martin. Her women are strong, independent and capable of anything... the men are pretty great too. I look forward to the next story.

Wow, this was an emotional and heart wrenching story. How can a father treat his daughter with such cruelty? Diana has been abused emotionally by her father most of her life, however he has gone too far this time. Evander has a heart of gold and his treatment of Diana is heartwarming. I loved both Diana and Evander and my heart went out to both of them. Oh and I absolutely fell in love with the animals, Zeus, Hera and of course Kitzi! This was a beautiful story about a laird wanting to save his clan from starvation and a woman who has been abused all her life just wanting to find peace and freedom. Their journey together is well worth reading about and wonderfully written.

A wonderful romantic story.
A definite 5 star book. The story started with two miserable people, with terrible problems. I was so drawn in from first paragraph and kept there till HEA end. The heroine Diana had such a sad beginning, I felt so sorry for her, she was very wounded, but so strong and brave. The hero,Evander had such sadness in his problem. The story had a very interesting beginning, and continued that way till very end. It was very hard to put it down, I just had keep reading to see what happened. There were some wonderful animals throughout story, interesting part in it, but one very important part. The story was full of an uphill journey, a secret, but a lot of romance. Evander had to be up there at top of all time Heroes, so caring, kind, patient, understanding and romantic. It had one of the most tender, most romantic love scenes, that brought me to tears, I have ever read. I do highly recommend, this, as I do all this author’s books. She never disappoints me.

Another great by Madeline Martin. Madeline’s writing is just amazing and her stories are so original. The Highlander’s Untamed Lady, book 3 in the Highland Passions series, is no exception. What so intrigues me in this story is the use of 2 wolfs and her descriptions are so clear I can picture them both in my mind. This wonderful story is both exciting and sad at the same time and I love her use of strong women figures. I just loved how feisty Lady Diana Stuart is and the kind and understanding Evander MacKenzie. I cannot say enough about this book! This story has escape, abduction, forced marriage, kindness, cruelty, abuse, starvation, patience, understanding, trust, a fight, pain, rape shame, love and so much more. You must read this book if you are like me and love historical highland romances.

She escapes to only run into a handsome Highlander intent on making her his bride. He’s determined to save his people and she’s determined to save herself no matter the cost, but her secrets may lead to their undoing. This a battle of wills that takes you on a grand adventure through the Highlands as they both learn to trust one another and discover a true love to last a lifetime. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

Ms. Martin never disappoints with her books. Her characters come.alive in the page and you will want to keep reading until the end. She always has a wonderful story line that. Will keep you entertained throughout her books and this one is no exception.

Laird Evander Makenzie's people are starving and he receives an offer from Lady Diana's father of a huge dowry if he marries his daughter, and Evander agrees. Lady Diana was imprisoned by her father and breaks out only to be captured by Evander and then the plot thickens. Both have haunted pasts, both are looking for happiness.
This is a story about two strong and passionate people who are thrust into a situation that changes both of their lives. It's a story of patience and trust, but it is also a story with a villain. Full of emotion with a nice blend of drama, humor and romance this book does not disappoint. I loved it!

I’m so glad , because I missed it before .
I love the tenderness of this book , from Evander especially , what a wonderful character , he deserves his HEA .
I can also understand Diana’s reluctance to form any bonds , she had such a hard life .
This story was both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time .

Diana the Earl of Cornwalls daughter longs for freedom she has never had it and all her father has ever offered her is cruelty. Evander only wants to save his people from starving and will do anything to help them even taking a very un willing bride. There story is both beautiful told and tragic both have suffered some form of loss and both need each others love. Another wonderful read by Madeline Martin. I was allowed to read advance copy of this story and this is my honest review.

After being held prisoner by her own father, Lady Diana Stuart escapes into the dead of night and runs into Laird Evander MacKenzie. Evander desperately needs money to save his clan from starvation, so he makes a deal with Diana's father. Marry her and take her to Scotland, for enough money to feed his people. Diana wants no part of this, so Evander has to drug her and her pet wolves and kidnaps her. As they arrive in Scotland, Evander persuades Diana to marry him and help him save his clan. Highly recommend reading this.

I’m happy to admit that with most books it takes me a little while to get into them and become invested in the story, but not this book! From the beginning it grabbed hold of me and wouldn’t let go. Evander is sweet, patient, understanding and yet manly, a warrior and tough when he needs to be. Diana is broken on the inside but a fighter, both for herself and her wolves. This book is now one of my all time favourites and will be one I reread many times over.

I did enjoy reading this book. I liked the plot but I wished it would have done a few years later at the end. I felted really bad for Diana for how she had been treated by her father. Evander was very like able and I liked the chemistry between him and Diana. I how there will be more books in the future.

Oh! I loved this Novella so very much! Evander and Diana's Story sucked me right in! Two people destined to be together and they had no idea. Madeline Weaves this story with romance, obstacles, and gives a twist I never seen coming!

Wow, just wow. I could relate so much to Diana. I love how Madeline Martin writes the hero to be strong and not afraid to be soft. Very beautiful story of love. I would recommend this book highly

I enjoyed this story. It was a quick and fun read. I loved Diana's pets and her strong facade. It took the caring from Evander to break it down and for her to find true happiness and love. The touches of myth and legend brought a little of the paranormal to their romance. I recommend this story.

Laid Evander Mackenzie is in a tough place with no money and no food, most of his people starving. When he gets the chance to marry Lady Diana Stuart for an handsome dowry, he jumps at the chance. What he doesn't know is that his bride to be is a hell cat. She can fight, look after herself and comes with a pair of deadly wolves.
Diana has never known love and tenderness since her mother died. Her father has tried to control her wild and stubborn nature and failed spectacularly. She's had to endure imprisonment, starvation and unwanted attention of suitors before she's drugged and kidnapped. Naturally she's in no mood to be helpful to Evander. Even if he's shown her more tenderness than she's seen in years.

Another amazing story
I love this story. Daina was unloved and abused by her father whenever she didn't do as he wanted her to do. Evander is a laird with a clan that is dieing due to the famish Scotland is dealing with. They meet when he comes to collect her to take her to his castle and marry her. It not all roses.

An excellent series
Each story is unique and difficult to put ďown. The storyline flows easily and the characters interacted well. Many times when you read series the word become repetitive, not so with this series
