Omg this book was crazy. Them damn creatures were out of damn control. The creatures killed all those innocent kids and Fred and Sheila knew what was going to happen I believe she thought by giving the creatures what they wanted she could say her daughter. At the end of it wasn’t for those two teenagers that poor little girl would have been gone. It was a good book I enjoyed it....
This book had some gruesome scenes & I felt bad for the victims. Fred & Shelia were so wrong for their part. Bryce & Stormy were true heroes although the ending was unexpected.
"Welcome To The McCarthy Estates; Birthplace Of The Heavenly Hope Group Home. Run By; Fred and Shelia McCarthy!" Where You Can Stay, Have A Hot Meal And Go Missing!
DNF @ 55% - This is a dark and disturbing horror book (just the way I like it) Normally, this doesn't bother me but this book is in desperate need of a good editor. There was so many grammar and spelling mistakes. It takes away from the story line. Which was a very imaginative story but there was some scenes that were quite disturbing. I went on picturing the creature as a bloody pedophile! But then again, in this day and age (this sounds exactly how a foster home is like. Not caring about the children and ONLY caring about that monthly check!) Which is quite SAD!
Aside from the typos and bad analogies the books was actually pretty good. You can tell that this is one of his first books. He would introduce new details as the story went on rather then introduce it at the appropriate time. One example was the green creature lime. He told readers about me McCarthy having possession of this at the end when she was about to use it. Rather than telling us that information exactly when he received it. That showed me that he was making the story up as he went and clearly didn't do any proofreading. But the book still had me wondering what happens next like any good book. Being a fan of horror I liked all of the gruesome details.
Ayo I'm done with Shameek! It took me a week to finish this book. You would of thought I was watching a horror movie. Lol I'm 🚬cigarettes scared to read the next sentence. I'm glad Sheila came to her senses, her husband is some s.it. Stormy an Byce I love y'all 💪!!!!! Emily love you 👧! My first book that I read by Shameek was A Child Of A Crackhead. I was hooked, even started buying the paperback books. Just to have them on my bookshelf. As always Shameek Speight you keep writing an I'll keep buying.
Thank you for this story. The details of the creatures meals' were so vivid I could see them in my mind's eye. I wonder what happened/ became of Mr. McCartha. Was he killed? Did he get away? Was there an investigation of how the carnage came to be and why didn't the amulet kill all of the creatures at once? I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to others!!! Great job.
When the McCarthy's bought a Mansion to house their many Foster children. The had no clue of the beast that was within the walls until their biological daughter Emily life was in danger. They made a deal that put several children life in jeopardy. When Bryce and Stormy came face to face with the truth. They vowed to leave that house in one piece. I was left wondering did the McCarthy's survive the deal they made with the devil.
Steady yourself. No kid is safe in Shameek’s books. These are not the spare and rescue the kid books. They get it just like adults.
I was left trying to figure out what the hell these creatures were. I still don’t know. I just know I wasn’t ready for the gore at the beginning of the book.
This book left me with a lot of questions. But I guess that’s why there is a Part II. I’m tempted to read it.
Shameekl needs to make a movie with this one and the Black Ice trilogy. I couldn't put it down, but I was scared as hell. These damn creatures had me shook more than Brock did and they were still in the house after everyone was gone, probably waiting on someone to buy it and continue to feast. So good.
This wasn't scary but it also wasn't bad. It reminded me of RL Stine books that I use to read as a teen. I can honestly say that I got some really good laughs too. I'll definitely continue to be a fan of Speight's work.
Not sure if I may have missed it, but whatever happened to the head mistresses husband? Did the creatures get to him? Maybe there will be a part 2.
I gave it a for because it didn't quite strike me at first. This isn't my usual kind of read, but because Shameek wrote it I had to read it. Toward the end is when it became interesting now I'm wondering if their be a part two...
Shameek all of your books keep me on the edge of my seat. I just love love your books. Keep'em coming. One thing though, you need to hire someone to proofread for typos. Incorrect spelling. Otherwise, your books are great. DeAnne
This book kept me on my toes, about read the 2nd book. Gory dementia at it's finest mixed with humor. This makes me not want a basement anymore lol kudos Shameek!
This book was so freakin good. I couldn't stop reading it. At first I was upset but as I read further along I realized that it had a completely different plot twist. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. I look forward to reading the second book. Great job
