I thoroughly enjoyed the premise of this book. I found the concept of old souls, returning to life again and again intriuiging. This was essentially why I picked up this title.
I feel the story is done very well, without over complicated explanations and details which one normally finds in a fantasy novel. What sets this story apart (from what I have previously read) is that its a journey of REDISCOVERY. Cora has firmly established firmly who she is and what she does in life. But an event trigge

It's been a while since I've read a good reincarnation romance novel!

Cora has strange hallucinations, and she has no idea where they come from. Soon, she finds out that the hallucinations are actually scenes from her past lives, and that she isn't quite normal. In this universe, there are some souls that are "ancient" or that can reincarnate throughout history. Cora has lived many other lives, and soon she will be able to remember nearly all of them. She joins a group of other reincarnated souls

Something about this story really caught my attention. I think I liked the idea of the various past lives and felt that it would scratch my historical fiction itch. But I was apprehensive about the historical fantasy side. Would I really enjoy it? I loved it!!!

Some books you read and enjoy while you’re actually reading them and some have plot lines and characters that jump out and follow you into all your activities in between reading sessions. This story did that. I couldn’t stop thinking about

Up to your wrists in the intestines of some poor wounded soldier may not be the best time for memories of past lives to surface but in Ancient Souls that is what happens to Cora Tate. A nurse in WWII she is used to the blood and gore but the memories are another thing.

Not sure whether they are memories or hallucinations, Cora thinks maybe she is going mad. It doesn't take long to find out what could be going on. Soon she finds herself embroiled in an ancient struggle with a team from her past sh

“Is there a second book,” is what I want to ask before I start this review.

Ancient Souls is a romance, action, and historical fiction rolled into one. It got my mind wandering and searching for more with detailed scenes of the World War II battle front. The beginning chapters build the story with Cora Tate as the main character. While she starts as a nurse in World War II Normandy, Cora finds out that she plays an even larger role in the shadows of society.

Recently I had the pleasure to meet Marianne at a friends house. She gave us a short summary of the book and it very much interested me. She explained to us how long it took her to write the book, the length of research she did to ensure her readers that her historical representation of the story was in fact true to history. She did a very good job introducing the charactors and the book flowed very well. I did not put it down until I finished...I have to admit that the first 30 minutes of readi ...more

While I am not always willing to read historical novels (I studied history in college), this book did not try to change anything or create an alternative to what exists. Instead it showed why things that are totally random happened and who orchestrated it. I really enjoyed the writing style and how the characters interacted. Cora while unsure of herself as a guise but very sure of herself as a nurse and a person willing to reach out and help others. Marianne Bissett does a good job of showing ho ...more

This is the first book of the series. The storyline is well written and interesting. The story is about two people being reincarnated because they are true soul mates. In each life, they find each other again. The story is descriptive about the past lives, what each other is thinking and where they are now. The characters are well written and are strong. The plot twist is full of action, drama and romance. I would recommend this book.

Cora Tate is a just a nurse. At least that's what she thinks. When visions send her into a world, she didn't know existed, her entire life changes. From living many past lives to being a highly skilled fighting machine, Cora will be forever changed.

This story was very good. It was mystical and full of action. It had great characters ranging from good to bad. I loved Cora and Alastair. From the start, these two won me over. Overall, I enjoyed this story. I have always been big on past lives as a
