Shorter and once again..
.. the errors creep back in, Silver's favourites; misnamed characters, mistakes with verb tenses and a rather odd "he swung his leg over his shoulder". Writing with Page had improved Silver's work head and shoulders above her solo novels so to find the second novel in a row dropping into old issues is greatly disappointing.
Artemis gets drawn into this new case by Xander himself as a 6 year old girl, Tina Frost, disappears on her way to school. Almost immediately Xander puts the town under quarantine blocking anyone from leaving and stopping new arrivals from turning up. Arti's most recent guest at the Manor, Daphne, who is recovering from surgery and visiting family, is trapped and Arti feels obliged to continue to host the friendly witch while the investigation takes place.
Lara is also still staying at the Manor so with two guests Arti's got plenty to do but Xander has asked her to help and she's not going to miss out on the opportunity. Tina lives with her father, her mother's battle with alcoholism having destroyed their marriage, she's worked hard to turn her life around but could she have spirited her daughter away out of desperation. The perfect, obsessively clean house, the child's bedroom ready and waiting for Tina worry Arti and Xander especially when Tina's backpack is found close by.
With the whole community drawing together to search for Tina and time slipping away can Xander keep the quarantine in place long enough to catch a kidnapper?
The romance is painfully slow.. really too slow.

Missing but not forgotten!
Another great read. The last guest has left only to return shortly. The town is in lock down as a 6 year old is missing. She disappeared on her way to school. Although searches are made, no clue can be found. Is the little girl still alive and in town? Even Luna gets in on the search. Working with Xander is wonderful but their attempts at a date keep misfiring. Even their dinner date goes awry as she is so nervous and now she even has her mother interfering. Will the child be found before the lock down gets lifted? A great plot with a nice twist. The characters get better with each subsequent book. Hope the romance picks up pace though.

I did not enjoy this installment in the series as much as it focused on a 6-year-old being kidnapped. I find that it took the coziness out of the story when it involved a child. The rest of the story was still well-done, but because of that content, I can't rate it higher or recommend this particular book in the series. I will still finish the series with the next book, however, as I enjoy the author's writing style and the world she has built here.

Entertaining witchy cozy mystery series
And entertaining witchy cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters in a small supernatural town summer in the Northwest United States along the coast. A little tourist town for supernaturals or a little bed-and-breakfast owner is part time detective and tends to help solve crimes with the local police. A very entertaining and Corky mystery tale. Enjoyable cozy paranormal mystery
Enjoyable paranormal cozy murder mystery, although in this case it was a child's kidnapping.
I love the characters, the premise. This one was a little bit harder to figure out but I got there before the end.
Very enjoyable read with only a couple if grammar mistakes.

Disappointment
I was slightly disappointed I was expecting Artty to do a location spell to find Tina but I'm glad she figured it out in the end I want her and cancer to become star struck lovers lol

A perfect story
Could be a difficult topic for some but it all works out in the end. Still loving the sassy Luna. Nice to see a love relationship starting up.
