It was the first time in two years since Linc Callahan had returned home to Stringybark Creek – he’d since left the army after his final tour of Afghanistan and the business he and two mates had started was doing well. But the peace he knew he would find at home with his mother Lavinia and father Bob, plus his siblings was something he was looking forward to. Christmas was only a few weeks away, then it would be his sister, Hadley’s wedding. Much would be happening, hence his earlier arrival.

So begins a highly anticipated new trilogy from one of Australia’s top notch rural romance storytellers, Karly Lane. The Wrong Callahan marks the beginning of a brand new contemporary themed romance series set in the arid heartland region of the New South Wales Riverina, in close proximity to Rankin Springs. Stringybark Creek is the centre of attention in Karly Lane’s latest release and it has been the home to the Callahan family for over five generations. T

The publisher sent me this book for my honest review.

I liked this book, it was a solid piece of Australian Rural Fiction. I will say this though, it was kind of predictable in a way, well the title kind of give it away really! I enjoyed the characters and can't wait to find out what is happening with the other Callahans, particularly the girls. I am also very familiar with the area that it is set in (my husbands family is from there), so it was nice to read about a place that I know so well.

Karly Lane is back with her newest rural fiction novel, The Wrong Callahan. This is the start of The Callahans of Stringybark Creek trilogy. I had enjoyed If Wishes Were Horses and after reading Mrs B recommendation for Someone Like You, The Wrong Callahan felt like my next read. While Lane's books are classified as rural, the only part that felt rural was the setting, suiting me perfectly. The Wrong Callahan is ultimately about family while delving into other issues along the way, such as marri ...more

The Wrong Callahan is the first book in Karly Lane's Callahans of Stringbark Creek series, and I've gotta say I'm already hooked.

Cash has never stayed in one place long. With no family to speak of, she drifts from city to city, job to job. She finds herself running her best friend's day spa in Rankins Springs. Griff Callahan, the man next door, is everything she doesn't want in a man, but wishes she did. His brother, Linc, former Commando, is everything she does want, but wishes she didn't.

Set in the beautiful New South Wales Riverina, the Callahan family have worked this land for generations.

Griff's life is on the land, he's always loved being home but feels he is in a rut, is there more to life than the relentless pressures of work? He longs for a life more adventurous and fun.

Linc is the older brother who joined the Army and worked overseas witnessing much conflict but has developed post traumatic stress disorder. Linc has returned home for Christmas and his sisters' wedding
I am an avid Karly Lane fan and her new book "The Wrong Callahan" did not disappoint. I am so glad it is book 1 that is based on the Callahans of Stringybark Creek with the 2nd due out in May 2019 so we continue to read about the family we have grown to love.

I find Karly's books so easy to immerse yourself in, they engage you and you just want to keep reading until you know what is going to happen to her likeable characters.

Wow another wicked read, Cash has come to look after her friends beautician and that's all or is it?

Griff well when he first saw her he wanted her will work for them.

And in comes Linc his brother home for his sisters wedding and he meets Cash and wow.

So does she end up with either brother and will the wedding go ahead?

Loved it sweet, yummy, gorgeous, hot and you need to read it.
