Romo’s Journey is well-written. It has an interesting character, Romo, a run-of-the-mill robot that wakens unexpectantly and grows more human with each passing day through circuit rerouting, mechanical fixes, data capacity increases, and speed adaptations on a voyage from Earth to Mars on a ship with about 100 occupants—the first colonizers. This was a very pleasant surprise. I found this book (series) in the kindle freebies and I can't believe my luck. Everything in this book is up to AAA quality standards, the story, the writing, the pacing... The journey of Romo is an interesting adventure and touch on some very deep subject matter like machine (A.I) sentience, legal and social status of said sentient machine.
