I never should have agreed to become Derek Blake’s live-in nanny. But he’s rich and powerful, and I need the money. In exchange, I have to live in his palace of a penthouse. How’s that for a choice?
The only problem? He’s out of my league. Way, way out of my league. Too wealthy. Too sexy. Too…skilled.
And with men like that? Everyone knows it never works out. It wouldn’t work out. Right?
The "Fire & Ice Romance Series" is a hot and steamy full-length 10-book standalone romance series. Each book comes with their own HEA, NO CHEATING & NO CLIFFHANGERS! - Kylie Parker (Amazon Bestselling Author)
I can't honestly say I enjoyed this book but I didn't hate it, I at least finished reading it. Most of the time I couldn't see why Madeline was ever attracted to Derek. Basically Derek was a manwhore and at the first sign of his previous girlfriend's return he kicked his baby's nanny to the curb. Now this is the same woman that had abandoned the baby on his doorstep after never even telling him there was a baby. So why was Madeline still so desperately in love with this guy?
This was a freebie that I picked up because I was curious. The basic premise is interesting, but the execution just wasn’t there for me.
We see Derek and Madeleine in close quarters for about 3 weeks and in that time, we see them spend very little actual time together. There was attraction, fantasy, and lust, but nothing that would support the idea of them developing a long term relationship.
Limited character development meant that we don’t really know them very well. But, what I did see didn’t encourage me to really like either character.
Eww... No thanks. If you want to read about a douchebag Manho Hero that is 98% about OW drama, a stupid/weak heroine that lusts after him and a non-romance type story, then this is for you, I guess...
Derek Blake gets an unexpected surprise when a baby girl is left on his doorstep. His life isn't set up for a baby in it, but Clara is there to stay. He hires a live in nanny. Everything is settled. Or is it? Madeline isn't impressed by him. I love that she's a strong, caring woman who makes Derek's penthouse a home. The attraction between Derek and Madeline is powerful. I wanted them to be together. She may think he's out of her league but fatherhood changes this ruthless billionaire. He loves his daughter and Madeline fills a need in him. I just wasn't sure if they had a chance at a future together. Kylie Parker has written a deeply emotional story. I was pulled in from the first page. Going Deep is filled with love and passion. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
The story progress as the summary told. The writing is decent and the plot lacks excitement and uniqueness, as much as I think love at first sight to be romantic, lust at first sight just felt cliche for me. I don't think Derek Blake is rude at Madeline, she's been rude to him first, which is self-righteous of her. I did not hate nor like it, it's an average read.
This isn’t your typical single dad/nanny book. I truly loved parts of the book, but liked most of it it, but even disliked it in a few spots. I didn’t quite relate to the main characters a lot of the time. Derek is a very wealthy man and because of his last relationship, he is totally closed off to another relationship until he is redeemed by the love he has for his daughter. I nearly wrote off Derek, though when he allowed his ex to move in his penthouse, and turned away Maddie, the woman he has hired for his baby’s nanny. Maddie was such a natural with baby Clara but far too gullible when it came to Derek. Turns out that Derek wasn’t as big a fool as I thought, and learned that some people will go to great measures to use people. I felt the book moved too slowly in some parts, but ended way too soon.
I’ve rated many books, but never made a review. This book however needs a serious warning!! 😱
Don’t go there! Just don’t! Unless your only dream is to marry a rich egocentric man, taking care of all his needs, not yours. Then knock yourself out with this book.
If not your thing, then this book may give you a sore head 🤯
Dear Daddy Derek, our lovely romantic hero is insufferable and so conceited you think it must be a fictional setup so our heroine Nanny Maddy well deserved can take him down a notch (or a hundred).
I’ve been frustrated by spineless females in other books (it kind of goes with romantic novels) but Nanny Maddy just tops it. Lovely.
If so bad, why did you finish the book, you ask? Because I kept waiting for her to kick his ass (repeatedly, with pointy hard boots) and him to really grovel.
Thankfully, the book was for free, but even that doesn’t make it readable. One star is too much
I’m actually sorry to write such a review as I’m sure the author has made a great effort writing this book and is proud of the result. Writing a book must take so much work and should be appreciated. However, the characters and values displayed in the book was so off for me. I feel like I was transported to the 1950ies. Stepford Wife without any escape. Maybe that’s what the tittle Going Deep means..
*Sorry for all the spelling mistakes. English is not my native language 😉

Derek awakes in the early morning hours to a strange noise when he opens his front door there is a baby in a basket crying. Unable to believe what he is seeing he calls down to the doorman about it and then sees a note. The baby is his daughter from a woman that disappeared on him. Hiring someone to help with baby Clara Derek thinks everything is solved. Madeline is struggling to survive in the city she only moved there as a nanny for another family but when a tragedy happened she found herself jobless and homeless. When she gets the call about a nanny job and its mysterious about who she would be working for its the money and the live in aspect that made up her mind. Derek handed off the baby to her without giving her any info but he is surprised by how much Madeline accomplishes on her first day. Things start off smoothly with them and then Madeline sees the heated looks Derek sends her way. Just as it looks like something was going to happen between them baby Clara's mother returns. Will Derek show Madeline that they are supposed to be a family with baby Clara? Will Madeline leave?
This was an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Derek and Madeline is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.
ONE OF MY FAVORITES! A 5+ STAR journey through a sensuous and emotive romance! In a year of GREAT indie romance selections, GOING DEEP by Kylie Parker is one of my favorites. Author Parker’s ability to describe the emotional and sensual reactions of her main characters is masterful in a way mere words cannot describe! In illustration I must give an example: “My body was drawn to him, like a magnet to its metal counterpart, and the pulsating of his scotch-tinged breath on my lips sped up my own breathing.” Readers are drawn into the moment between Derek and Madeline in author Parker’s indomitable style, and through her vivid descriptions get to “feel” what they feel in the most sensuous way possible. It is not the description of the act, rather it is the description of the sensations and emotion which lead up to the action that readers, who make up author Kylie Parker’s growing fan base, keep coming back to get. Add this to a compelling, complex plot and AMAZING characters, “GOING DEEP” is a MUST-BUY! If you would like to insert some of that sensuous thrill into your life, then grab a copy of Kylie Parker’s latest journey “GOING DEEP”! One warning though, keep tissue and a fan handy! Kylie Parker’s “GOING DEEP” comes to you STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, and I am certain you will agree, this romance is special. Happy pages! 😉
i read this book as part of an arc program. This book is about Derek, a rich businessman who is awaken one night to noise outside of his apartment door. When Derek goes to see what the noise is, he is shocked to see a baby with a note from her mother. The baby is his daughter he never he had and he has no idea what to do with her. Derek hires a nanny for her from an agency and tells them it is an emergency. Derek knows the baby is his and tells the nanny, Madeline to buy whatever she needs. Madeline wonders why Derek is so unprepared for the baby and when Derek tells her about the baby being left on his doorstep, she softens toward him a little. Madeline and Derek are attracted to each other and the more time they spend together caring for the baby, the closer they get. Soon Derek kisses Madeline and wants more. But when the baby's mother returns, Madeline soon finds herself being left out as Derek tries to mend his family. I liked this book and thought Madeline and Derek were great together. Derek never saw the love for his family coming and soon he couldn't imagine life without them. I think Derek wanted tot ry to work things out with his ex for the sake of the baby, but knew he didn't love her. Good one.
Derek wakes up to weird noises one night and when he opens is door he finds a baby on his doorstep. He is a busy man, so he hires a nanny, Madeline, to watch his daughter, Clara. He is in shock, because the mother took off one day, and truth be told, he never really got over her. Madeline falls in love with Clara almost right away, but also forces Derek to own his responsibilities and take care of his daughter. Madeline makes his house a home and settles into a routine. Derek even starts to come home at a decent time of night and seems to take his responsibilities to heart. My only issue is that his ex, the mother of Clara, never treated him well and was a con woman. Why he carried a torch for her still baffles me. When the baby's mother comes back, it causes heartbreak and mayhem to ensue. The real story of why she is back is a doozy. Whether Madeline can stay strong, stick by Derek and Clara, and find a way to get what she wants; the family she has fallen for, remains to be seen. While there isn't any physical cheating, there is emotional cheating due to the fact that Derek hasn't gotten over his ex. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
Derek is woken at 2 am by a noise that sounds like a pig but the noise is coming from a baby in a basket left outside his door.
There is s note with the baby who was abandoned at his door. The note is from his former girlfriend who vanished into thin air before he could propose to her. The not states she cannot take Clara with her. Clara only has Derek now,; he is her father.
Derek needs a Nanny; Maddie is sent to him. She has not been given any detailed information; just told that someone will pick her up and take her to the address.
Derek is trying to accept the fact that he is now a father when he didn't even know Gracie was pregnant. He's trying to rush out the door for a meeting as Maddie us asking him questions about the baby; all he knows for sure is that her name is Clara. He hands Maddie a credit card and tells her to get whatever is needed. Maddie soon gets things rolling to get what Clara needs.
As a nanny, the #1 rule is not to get involved with the client.
Then, the excitement begins. A definite must read.
When Billionaire Derek Blake wakes up to a strange noise outside of if door, he’s really not sure what it is. To his surprise it’s a baby in a basket and the note that’s leaves him shocked. Madeline had been working as a live in nanny until the child that she cared for died and now she’s left sleeping in a room with lots of people and barely food to eat, until she gets a phone call for a live in nanny job for billionaire Derek Blake. When she shows up and the father of the baby knows nothing about the baby and has no supplies and leaves a credit card to get what you need, it makes her highly upset that a parent can be so irresponsible, until she finds out the whole story. Derek noticed right away how beautiful Madeline is and he starts thinking about the things that he would like to do to and with her, and the same goes for Madeline. Derek is in her thoughts all during the day and night. This story has a twist that will keep you captivated until the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it to read. Thank Kylie Parker for a wonderful story.
When Derek opens the door to his penthouse there a a baby wrapped in pink with a note attached, now if this wasn’t a guarded penthouse you could see it happening but someone snuck in and left her. Derek at a loss reads the note and finds out its from Gracie a woman he thought loved him till she disappeared one day. Derek realizes he is in over his head so he calls a nanny agency and gets Madeline someone who really needed the job. Madeline can’t believe her luck but Derek’s arrogance makes her realize why he is alone. Madeline and Derek settle in to a comfortable routine while he is on vacation and Madeline gets to see a different side of Derek. All is going well and they grow closer together until someone knocks at the door and just like that Gracie is back. Now Madeline is reduced to two days a week and Gracie is back, but don’t feel bad for Madeline just yet the job isn’t over for her yet. Just loved how Madeline was so strong no matter what got in her way.
One morning Derek hears a strange squealing noise. He lives alone so at first he thinks it is coming from outside. He follows the sound when it gets louder and finds it is coming from the hallway. When he opens the door he sees a baby in a basket with a note on it. She is a girl named Clara and he is her daddy! Shocked and he is unsure what is going on. His ex never told him she was pregnant..She just disappeared!. I received an ARC and I am writing this review voluntarily. After speaking to his friend and employee, he calls an agency to hire a live in nanny Madeline receives a call offering her the job.She is surprised because her last job as a nanny ended suddenly when the child died. Although she wasn't responsible the pain is still there. What will happen when she meets Derek and starts to care for Clara? What will happen if Gracie, the child's mother comes back? It could get really complicated!
Not your typical single dad/nanny romance. Derek may rich and like to have control but that gets thrown away when he hears a noise in the middle of the night. He's just become a dad!!!
Madeline becomes the nanny but she also teaches a thing or 2 to Derek. Her handsome boss which is hands off.
These characters especially Derek will have you scratching your head by decisions made but the man had to learn a lesson and what better way than to have baby mama drama with your ex.
It's a good thing Maddie loves his daughter and able to see that inexperience with a child isn't Derek's only problem. Can they make it work or will the past stay lingering when it was Maddie that dropped all she was doing to take care of a child that wasn't hers.
I enjoyed the story and seeing Derek learn to be a dad and mature because of it. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
This book is what you would call an emotional rollercoaster. The main characters, Derek and Madeline are so well developed that I could not help feeling connected to them. Kylie Parker was able to give these characters so many different facets. Derek and Madeline keep their relationship professional for longer than I thought possible, their chemistry is off the charts. Madeline educates Derek on how to be a father to Clara. Derek's ex, Gracie, is a flighty woman and we discover that there is more to her than meets the eye. Gracie wants to be a family, but Derek must discover if her real intentions are honorable before he loses what and who is most dear to him. This story has more twist and turns than a bag of pretzels. The storyline hooked me from beginning to end. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
Derek and Madeline start a journey neither are prepared for. Derek is woken by sounds he unfamiliar with and opens the door to see a baby has been left on his doorstep along with a note from his ex stating he is Clara’s father. Derek is one of those men who has the persuasive powers over people, he always gets what he wants and a baby is not something he needs or wants. Enter Madeline, she’s asked to help out and told she will be taken to the house and not given any information on who she would be working for. Her first rule of thumb is don’t fall for the client and that’s easier said than done. There is chemistry there, a spark if you will, and he’s not making it easy for her to stick to her guns, but when an unexpected visitor arrives, there’s a wrench thrown in the mix and leaving unanswered questions between them. Great read, loved it! I received a copy of this book.
Kylie Parker did a great job writing this story. I really enjoy reading a good book. The chemistry between Derek and Madeline is steamy! There's plenty of twists and turns that kept my interest til the very end. A little about the story; Derek finds himself an instant father when he opens his door and finds a baby Clara on his doorstep. Her mother no where to be found. Who is her mother ? Derek doesn't have a clue about taking care of a baby. He needs to find a nanny fast. He calls an agency looking for a live-in nanny. He needed someone immediately. Madeline arrived for the nanny job. Derek is attracted to her. ...... Madeline is attracted to Derek. I voluntarily reviewed advanced copy of this book. ❤🍵💋
There is Madeline, who knows as a nanny never to fall for the parent of the child you are watching. Then there is Derek, who found out he had a daughter and the mother was no where to be found. The chemistry between the two characters is substantial. They try to keep it professional for as long as possible but its hard when the connection is so strong. Madeline helps Derek learn how to be a father to his daughter, Clara. What will happen when Derek's ex, Gracie shows back up? Is she a flighty person or is there more to her? Will Derek make a family with Gracie? or will he figure out her real intentions before everything falls apart? Really good read. Lots of twists and turns. Enjoy!
I voluntarily wrote this review from an advanced copy of this book.
Madeline gets a call in the middle of the night to work as a nanny for a client who will not be named. Derek awakens in the middle of the night to a strange noise outside his front door. Madeline knows not to get emotionally involved with a client, and Derek swore to never become involved after the woman he considered marrying left with no explanation or warning. Wow, fantastic book! Sexy and sweet read with fascinating, well written characters who fall hard and fast for each other even though they have every reason to keep their distance. Convoluted and unique plot with a touch of mystery. I loved this book!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this book.
Derrick has a baby left on his doorstep, so he hires a nanny. He knows the baby is his straight away just by looking at her. Madeleine is the nanny, she has haf a rough life and has never felt that she belonged anywhere. She starts to feel like she belongs then the babies mother comes back and kicks her out. It took Derrick 2 weeks to figure out why the babies mother came back, she ends up being taken away in handcuffs. He alse realised that he is in love with Madeleine, and gets her back straight away. A great story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed.
Derek prides himself of always being in control and being able to steer people in doing what he wants..... thats until he wakes up to find a baby abandoned on his door step. Now the billionaire finds himself floundering and the new no nonsense nanny isn't the typical women he is used to that throw them selves at him. Madeline has always had one rule and that rule is never get involved with the client but Derek is making it hard. Just when she is about to break her number one rule an unexpected guest shows up at the door and turns both her and Derek's life upside down. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Loved this story a baby gets dumped on the door step so Derek Blakes front door during the night turns out to be his daughter from his last relationship he needs to get a nanny. Madeline gets a phone call late at night from the nanny agency with the job for her she accepts and has to be at clients penthouse by 7.30 a car is sent for her. Madeline turns up and neither is prepared for the journey they are going to go through the beautiful and tough times together. What a brilliant book well written and I love the characters this will be one book that will be read multiple to times.
Enjoyed this story so !ugh read it in a single sitting!! Kind of a slow burn...Nanny starts new job with hot billionaire and there are sparks...but you have the whole new single dad (to the extreme) and just the person to help. Both with pasts that make your heart clench they go through some rocky patches, as do other important characters in this tale, but together they might just pull it off! Some wonderful characters, well written story, with some wonderful details...and of course a HEA. A first for this reader by this author but unlikely to be the last
What a find to see on your doorstep when you open it up. A baby you are told is yours. Well the only thing to do is hire a nanny. the nanny and him get to know each other and their attraction goes deeper. All of a sudden the baby's mother shows up and she feels left out. He tries to get back with the kids mother until he realizes it would do more harm than good as he does not love her. And him, the nanny and the baby had such a nice loving little family. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I wasn't going to read this because of the title (I know, I know, don't judge a book by it's...) The title and the content are actually ad odds with each other. While this IS a Single Dad & Nanny Romance I took the "Going Deep" part as having a different meaning (right??) and was pleasantly surprised that it actually meant something else.
I think I would classify this as a "billionaire - single dad" story. This is a classic romance with medium angst, emotional moments and sexy times.
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy single dad romance.
As a new author with my first book just having been published I am anxious to write all I possibly can. my focus is Dark romance/ suspense/thriller. As such I haver started to read extra books as part odf my home work. I am glad I selected this one. I really enjoyed reading this book. Two people with such similar yet different backgrounds, both trying to protect themselves and learning to love at the same time. Both having felt what's it's like to be used by other people. I think most of us have known this at one time or another. I know I certainly have.
