Alex Justin, a virtuous journeyman baseball player in the twilight of his pro career, must deal with the cruelties of fate and returns to his dreams and to his first summer in the minor leagues
This is the story of a young guy named Alex, who has always wanted to be a baseball player. He makes the minors and the story plays out from there.
He is a disturbingly, disgusting character, and this book is gross throughout. It’s not bad writing which makes it all the more disappointing. It’s the plot that doesn’t focus on baseball, but instead unravels Alex’s own and others’ despicable behavior toward women.
Wish it had been a better plot than it was. Wish it had actually been about baseball. Not a fan. 1 star.
