Shining a positive light for healing and the many paths that might help us get there! So I just fully dislocated the elbow of my right arm in a climbing injury-- the pain was immense, followed immediately by the psychological torture of not being able to do any of my usual coping methods: writing, cooking, taking a bath, rock climbing, jogging. Active me was bedridden and I felt broken. I turned to Cherie's book for solace and it was like having a friend sit nearby and talk to me about healing-- ...more

This is an excellent toolbox for anyone looking to improve their health. It was packed with all kinds of useful information, and I learned quite a bit. What I enjoyed most was the creative way the author presented the different healing tools and the subtle humor she used, which got me laughing out loud. I feel better empowered to take charge of my health and healing. This book and the author have made it easy for all of us to do just that.

Also, an excellent book to share with anyone you know who is struggling with health issues. Oftentimes, we have explored some options and begin losing hope when we don't heal. This is not a reference guide; it is a practical yet inspiring conversation. Cherie sits us down and talks to us. She shows us through her essays on her favorite 100 healing modalities (both allopathic and alternative) that healing is something we actively participate in with an open-mind and curiosity. There is no one right way, but there is the willingness to try lots of different things that together can return us to health emotionally, spiritually and physically. Cherie shares her favorites. ...more

Kephart’s latest book is a comprehensive healing guide, based on strategies she used during her own recovery process. It is a delightful introduction to healing modalities that range from Probiotics (#72) to Purpose (#73). And what a brilliant ending: “A Few Minor Adjustments” [Kephart’s memoir] demonstrates just how far and absurd I was willing to go to heal. It was a crazy experience, and I learned so much. What worked? You’ll have to read the book to find out.”

When I first saw the title, I was like, "There are 100 ways to heal?" I couldn't imagine that many possibilities. But then I read it and was amazed at all the tools there are to help with the healing process, some I've never heard of! It's one of those books I will keep on my bookshelf and pull out often. I am all about natural remedies, and Cherie's book is full of great options.

This book is a companion to another book, A Few Minor Adjustments: A Memoir of Healing , by the same author. Both books are about healing, but they differ in aim and approach: A Few Minor Adjustments: A Memoir of Healing tells the author's story of having an undiagnosed illness, and this book introduces the one hundred tools that she has found most helpful for improving and maintaining health. Each book is excellent on its own, but for the best experience, read A Few Minor Adjustments: A Mem ...more
