Be A Leader: Be Who You Want to Be

Rate this book
In this inspirational guide, Moroccan entrepreneur Nezha Alaoui empowers readers to develop leadership skills they can apply to success in both life and business.

At seven years old, Nezha Alaoui knew exactly who she wanted to an independent businesswoman whose work would have a positive global impact. As a teenager, her determination to march to her own rhythm was often at odds with her French private school education. So she learned to trust in her own instincts and channeled her dynamic energy into achieving her dream. By her mid-twenties, she had a husband, two daughters, and twelve stores. Her life checked all the right boxes for success, except the fulfillment that comes from having a positive impact on the world.

At the age of twenty-seven she made the fearless decision to completely deconstruct her life and rebuild it on her own terms. She created the Mayshad Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the lives of those in marginalized communities, and Mayshad Mag, an online advocacy platform that gave voice to her vision and sparked the global #BWYWB Leadership Movement.

In Be A Leader , Nezha Alaoui shares with readers her core philosophy of empowerment and provides practical steps for how to build leadership in today’s competitive world.

From the personal insights the author, Nezha Alaoui, gives us, to the specific and detailed tips and tricks she gives us on how to stay productive, this book is motivating to say the least. Nezha is living the life many are dreaming of; living out of a suitcase, travelling frequently and leading a major NGO in Morocco... The way she speaks about it is positive and inspiring, and the book left me wanting to accomplish more than ever. I highly recommend it!

I read the book entering my senior year at Suffolk University and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect! Just as i started getting anxious about graduating and starting the “real life” this book gave me the confidence I lacked through tips and tricks on how to be a leader not just in an office but in life. Its a quick and direct read that I recommend to anyone that wants a unique yet realistic approach on how to be a leader!

Message is good overall, but the flow of the book is kind of confusing. There isn’t a consistency between chapters, as topics kind of just go from one to the next. I’d get hooked into one lesson, then the next would be different. I guess I liked the content but it didn’t seem to flow how I wished it would, so it was hard for me to connect to.
