Chaos in the rock music world. Girl meets boy. They kiss and then it all goes blank.

Ambra is excited to see one of her favourite bands live. Even better her best friends have managed to get her back stage access. What should have been an awesome night with great chemistry turns into a living nightmare. Ambra clicks instantly with band member Noah. They have a fun night but when she wakes the next morning something this definitely wrong. Her memory suggests she was drunk and past out. Her body te

One of the best novels I've read in a long time. I think its greatest quality is that it deals with very hard-hitting, challenging issues in a style that is very accessible - we get alternating viewpoints from both main characters and I felt a great deal of sympathy for both of them, including Noah, who we have to believe is behind the attack that underpins the plot - now that's no mean feat. The problem is that neither of them are sure whether an attack took place, and while they're trying to p ...more

A book that deals with real life issues and the downsides to social media.

A believable plot to a point, a young girl goes out for a good time and what starts of as a dream come true turns into a nightmare with lots of regrets.

When Ambra is given the opportunity to exercise her skills in photography and shoot for a rock band she loves she is excited and ecstatic for the opportunity.

A great night and drinks after the show with the band is nothing out of the ordinary the night is flowing and Ambr

I have only read a couple of books by Kyra Lennon but after hearing so much about this book, I was beyond excited to get the opportunity to read it.

Ambra is a hardworking photography student who was given the chance to add to her portfolio after shooting an upcoming rock band at one of their shows. The instant attraction between Ambra and Noah was evident, but we all knew there was darkness to come.

I definitely got a “13 reasons why” vibe from the start of the story as Ambra talks directly to

Hear What You Want
tells the story of Ambra and Noah. Ambra is a photographer and got the chance to take photographs of Noah’s band during a concert. They both went to a bar together with the rest of the band and some friends and after a few drinks they decided to go to the hotel and that night changed everything for Ambra and Noah…

Holyshit!! What a brilliant book and this is only part one. I really can't put into words just how great this book is. Yes, it has triggers. Yes, it's not a nice thing to read. But it's a fantastic story, leaving you not wanting it to stop. Not wanting to go to sleep.

This story is hard to talk about, I really can't explain the story as it would give took much away. I cried hard and my heart broke as this story unfolded. The twist were shocking and although I saw one coming, the others I didn't.

I was lucky enough to beta read this book a couple of weeks ago. I won't give away the story, but it was a touching story. It hooks you in from the beginning, and just when you think you have the rapist, you're proven wrong. It's a story that keeps you in suspense until the very end. I would definitely recommend that you pick it up and give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

Full review to come.
But I will say this. I was incredibly lucky to be invited to beta read, and if the polished product is as brilliant as the unfinished version, then you’re all in for a treat.

I don't give 5 stars to just any book. It has to be a book that's a) well written, b) if it has sensitive subjects, then those subjects have to be handled well, sensitively, c) the characters have to be believable, d) it has to draw me in... mind, body, soul, e) when i read the last page, I ha

I love a GOOD cliff hange and yup this ended with a doozy and my yelling "I knew it!!". But let me backtrack and take a breath. This is a story of so many things that yes in this first book of the series there is no sex. . . well spoken of in detail at least. What this is deals with choices made and deeds done. It touches on a number of issues running rapid now with the help of the internet, bullying. This bullying resulted from a picture. Yup that's all it took but that picture unleashed a worl ...more

It’s been a while since I read a book that kept me up reading into the early hours, but this one did just that.

The way Lennon has weaved the tale of Ambra and Noah is scary real. Social media has a lot to answer for when it comes to rumour mongering and celebrities. ‘Fans’ and celeb blogs are the ones that dole out justice before all the facts are known. That is one thing I despise about being a fangirl.

The differing points of view cleverly give the readers a well-rounded view of what is happeni

Its been a slow reading year for me. I have not finished many books that I ordinarily would love. However Hear what you Want was amazing! I raced through it. It really touches on rape culture. The social media frenzy and 3rd party hear say. Nikki and Noahs story is tragic in almost every way. I have always struggled with the concept of if both parties are drunk and have drunk consensual sex that the girl can cry rape the next day. Not

DISCLAIMER: I beta read this for the author, but that in no way effects my opinions of the book. If anything it's more of a reason to be honest. I wouldn't let Lennon publish something I thought wasn't right or was lacking in some way.

Okay, on with the review ....

Wow! Just wow! It's been two weeks since I read this, and my mind is still reeling. I've always loved Lennon's work, and even in her lighter stories, she'd thrown in twists, drama and real life issues that make you stop and think. But t

Ambra is great at photography so when her best friend Ben gets her the opportunity to have a night out and meet her favourite band and take great pictures she jumps at the chance. When they finish the gig she is drawn to Noah and feels a connection, they go on to party at the bands hotel. Ambra has a great confidence in herself and makes everyone around her feel comfortable it's like she brings out the best in them.
Noah was out for fun and to meet pretty girls at his band's gigs whilst having fu

I really don't know how to begin this review as I'm still recuperating from it. An outstanding read that will leave your heart in pieces and make you weep for the characters what they are going through! I don't want to give too much away but be prepared for your heart to be ripped out and trying to understand what everyone's going through. It wasn't an easy read for me as it's a sensitive topic and at one point I had to stop reading and take a minute. But I think that's what

I was offered the chance to read this book before publication by the author. And I'm happy to say it's another fantastic novel.

If you've read my reviews of Kyra Lennon's other books, you'll know I love the way she creates such perfectly-rounded characters that you could easily imagine a night in a pub or a natter over a hot chocolate with. This story is darker than her previous work, dealing with the fallout of a night the two main characters can't remember and how social media can swing public

Most of the time I like to read the filthy/fluffy stuff (reading is escapism after all) but every once in a while a book like this comes along and I knew that I just had to read it.

Kyra beautifully tackles the subjects of online bullying, social media being a feeding frenzy for the jury of popular opinion instead of facts, and the topic of questionable consent.

I don't want to say too much about the story (other than I LOVE the MC's unusual name), but know that it's written with tact, skill, an

Right, I have to say this is my first book by this author and it will not be my last.

I am guilty I do have some of her previous work on my kindle just not got round to reading it yet.
I devoured this book right from the start I needed to know who it was( spoiler ) once you read you will understand. I loved the suspense of this book and just when I thought I knew who a certain person was I was so wrong. It's a while since I've read a book from Kyra and I'm glad that has now been rectified !!

This story is one that could happen to many, myself included .. maybe not the band part.. but a drunken night out that ends up causing too many unanswered questions.. and all is definitely not as it seems. Sensitively dealt with Kyra explores the emotions that Ambra feels, how she questions herself, how others blame her and the issues that she faces coming to terms with what happened. My first book by this author and what a way to start. The whole time I'm reading I'm thinking that could have been me and that was someone who I don't know.

I had my suspicions I'm usually pretty good at spotting the little clues but I was way off base this time. A story that was addictive reading a story that made me stop and think. And when that revelation came my heart skipped a beat and hurt just like Ambra.

Book two beckons I'm so intrigued to see what happens next.

Wow! I don’t do spoilers but I will say this. This book gave me chills!!! I wouldn’t relive my 20’s for anything. The story is deeply woven in social media and twenty something angst and it’s both scary and breathtakingly beautiful. Great job! I look forward to reading more from Ms. Lennon.

I hate reviews that give away the storyline. I will say this; This book is a must read. One of the best I've read this year. The storyline is brilliant and I was trying to guess the outcome from the middle of the book. Go and read this one now. You won't be disappointed.

Hear What You Want is a book that takes hold of you right from the beginning and doesn't let go throughout. This is my first book by Kyra Lennon and I'm so glad that I took a chance on this new author to me because this book is definitely my kind of book to read. It shows you the dark side of life and has you questioning if things are as clear cut as they seem. I love books that don't shy away from sensitive subjects, and even now, several hours later, I can't stop thinking about this 5 star read ...more

You get a star taken away and the middle finger and you know why! It would of been my favorite book of the year but it's not complete but a cliffhanger. Tears are running down my face and you think I can carry emotions until October when part 2 comes out? I'm stamping my feet now.

Drama complete. Almost every aspect of an unfortunate over drinking situation or so it appears. Who can you know or trust? My take overall is to control your amount of alcohol and watch your drinks. Secondary

OH MY GOD! The ending to this book has absolutely destroyed me. Like I am not okay. At all.

What a read this was. Taking you on a rollercoaster of emotion as you ride the waves of confusion, fear and hurt alongside Ambra as she tries to make sense of what happened to her on the night she can’t remember.

I felt the author dealt beautifully with the modern issue of conviction in the court of public opinion. How even if you’ve done nothing wrong, social media can have you tried, convicted and sente

I haven't been on Goodreads for a long time but I thought I should after reading this book.

It's different to Kyra's other books. Much more serious, but it's very, very well written. There are lots of twists and it will keep you guessing until the last page.

Before we get started, I would like to thank Kyra Lennon and Xpresso Book Tours for the ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book will contain rape and a lot more sensitive topics that some may find upsetting, so keep in mind before you get a copy of the book yourself.
