A wonderful story filled with riveting characters and a blend of dystopian and ancient myths which add sensationally to the world building. Loved the character of Nya and her relationship with Jax added a lovely touch to the fast-paced tale. Great read and highly recommended for anyone into fantasy, dystopian, or thrilling adventure reads.

What a great book, I am lucky to have the pleasure of reading Authors new to me and discovering a new take mixed in ancient legends of the Amazonians. In a modern-day reference, with a preface at the front of the book with a list of the Scythians language for everyday items.
We follow Nya and her friends as they prepare to fight to become eligible to go to Carpathia to choose their mates who they then fight to find their equal.

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**The Scythian Trials is a fantasy with some dystopian elements by Elizabeth Isaacs. I believe this is a standalone novel. It is set in a world where we have humans and amazonians. Humans are known as Allos and Scythians are direct descendants of the ancient Amazon women. I loved seeing the fierce Scythian warriors. That aspect of the story kind of reminded me of The Valliant by Lesley Livingston, but actual storyline

Ahhhhh, that was one very satisfying, intense, and heart-throbbing book after so long reading average books. I LOVED...well, almost every part of it. If there was ANYTHING. Anything at all that I would change, it would be reading about Nya's nata, and Killian finding happiness. Because come on. He sure as HELL didn't deserve that. And I REALLY hope what he thought at the very end in the epilogue wasn't true. Because he most definitely deserves all the happiness in the WORLD.

I totally enjoyed everything about this book! Oh my, this was amazing! I enjoyed it from start to finish. An action packed romance and all about Amazons. Kick ass and comical heroine paired with a sweet, intense hero -- such an epic pair.

The Scythian Trials is a very well written story of love and hardships. It takes place in the modern world among everyday people. However, mere humans are known as Allos and the stars of this book are the Scythians. Scythians are direct descendants of the ancient Amazon women. A little bit of The Hunger Games mixed with The Valiant makes for a great read for a mature audience.
The Scythians are descendants of the Amazons and highly valued warriors. I really really enjoyed The Scythian Trials.
It had everything I love, action, adventure, mysteries, a little romance and a spin on ancient Greece.
So there you have it, pretty much a piece of heaven in my hands.
The story pretty much centers around Nya, as she is going to participate in a tournament that allows her to pretty much pick her mate. Antiquated IMHO, but that is the point here.

What a great book for young adults and adults alike!
Nya, last of an original Amazon line, struggles with suppressed memories causing her to reject human touch and closeness. She becomes one of the top Amazons with the pleasure of going to the Trials to select the optimal mate.
Her counsler, Jax, at the Academy, has come to realize that Nya is meant to be his true mate.
Will they both survive the Trials and the danger to come for Nya?

This was an interesting action-filled story. Set in modern society, this tells of an elite and advance society that lives apart from the rest of civilization. Apparently, Scythians are descended from Amazons; hence, their physical and intellectual aspects are above ordinary than from Allos (ordinary man.) So, this story takes place during the Scythian trials in which the best female Scythians go through rigorous physical and mental tasks to secure a spot for ...more

When I first started this book I figured it will be something like Hunger Games or Maze Runner or Divergent and I love these kind of books. And I was absolutely right I just fell in love with this book. As I started to dig deeper I couldn’t stop, I wanted to just sit and read, It captured me so hard. The story is great and captivating and the writing is amazing. The characters are written so beautifully I fell in love with Nya, Jax, Xari, even Nya’s chosen especially Killian. I think there is go

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I liked the main character, Nya. I was annoyed with how often she misinterpreted things Jax said, though. If she's known him for 4 years, she should be able to understand him better and I feel it was a trope a little overused by the author to cause drama in the storyline.
I would have liked more background and world building. It felt like this should have been the second book in the series. Maybe the author plans to do a prequel? There was a lot of stuff that happene ...more

I first started this book thinking it will be a nice relaxing read when I wanted to just sit and read, but it gripped me pretty hard from the start and I found myself avoiding other people so I could read instead. The story is great and encapsulating and the writing is magnificent. The adventure carries on throughout the book. This is a story of finding yourself, finding others, morals, coming to terms with your past, but all wrapped up with adventure. The author puts your heart through the ring

This is a fantastic story of Scythian (Amazon) Warriors and their nemesis the Drahzda. The story surrounds Anya Thalestris who is the last child of both her parents' lines. She is thrust into a constant stream of holes and repressed memories from her past as well as the focus of the media as the trials to choosing a mate continue. She frequently wonders if fleeing is her best bet. Jax, her psych doctor and mentor, stands on the sidelines while she comes to term with the things that happened to h

Elizabeth Isaacs has a winner in the Scythian Trials. The story line is excellent and flows well keeping you glued to the pages needing to know what's next. The characters are very well developed and complex. Nya is a wonderful individual you root for as she overcomes obstacles. She and Jax are so good together. The length of this book allows the author to fully explore the story line and create complex characters and world. This would make a great first of series, can only hope for more. Highly

The Scythian Trials was a fantastic read. I’m rather sad it isn’t the start of a series.
Ms. Isaacs created a dynamic world with a rich culture that left me wanting to know more. I want to learn Xari’s fate and what happened with and to Nya’s Chosen.
Nya’s resurfacing memories left me feeling rather icky, enough to knock off a star, but that’s a personal preference.
Overall, the story was phenomenal. I definitely recommend it to just about anyone, as long as torture isn’t a trigger.

I enjoyed the book. Its a once you start you just can't stop type of book! So well written. The characters just come to life.
A little bit about the story: Nya the main character is a fierce Amazon warrior who didn't know how to show intimacy because of a traumatizing past. The story is part mystery part romance as Nya tries to remember what happened to her four years before all while trying to choose her Chosen. Very much recommend this read. ...more

'The Scythian Trials' is an exciting fantasy novel that will leave readers begging for more. The book is told from the third person, from Nya's perspective. I almost never enjoy the third person POV because it takes so much more effort to lose myself in the story, if I can at all. I never seem to feel really connected to the main character and overall have a less enjoyable experience than with the first person POV. Sadly, this was the case with this novel. These are only my personal opinion and

My Review: I have to say that this publisher is finding some amazing stories to publish and bring us! And I am so happy to be reading them! This one is another great story that I could not put down. This story is full of Amazonians but set in the modern age. The society was something fresh that I haven't read about before and the setting was so breathtaking. The story had a great flow and I am so excited that I have a print copy of this one. I really love how the women take the front stage of th

First off, credit where credit is due, this an absolutely stunning book cover. That's admittedly the first thing that drew me to The Scythian Trials. Secondly, I should start with the fact that I actually did enjoy this book overall. I'm fairly picky about my Sci Fi and Fantasy, especially when it comes to world building, so I wanted to get that out in the open. I'll do my best to share all the positives first, and then come around to why this book didn't quite click with me the way that I would

A thrilling book, which kept things interesting along the way. I would have expected more time in the arena towards the end, make the men sweat a little. Also a more fair approach toward informing the Chosen about the Trials ending. But hey, that's me!
